2k8 player equipment

hey all i was wondering last year i bought the EA 2007 and was very dissappointed with it, it seems EA "shat" apon the PS2 community there were no real updates/upgrades for the PS2 version. But i was wondering for the playstation 2 of NHL 2k8 do the players and goalies have authentic equipment, because on the EA version there were like 4 options of sticks and skates etc, and it made the game kind of dull by seeing the same stuff all the time, so i was wondering if the new 2k8 will have more player equipment variety of sticks and skates and helmets for players, and more importantly will it have the proper goalie pads and masks?

Definitely not the real masks, they don't even have them in the XBOX 360 or PS3 version so I doubt they would put them in the PS2 version.

For the rest of the equipment I really don't know.

Im a goalie and 2ks Goalies SUC i hope i am wrong but they look like crap and play like crap.
I thought they would fix them with their new graphics for 2k8 but they look like the same mess from 2 years ago some even worse . 90 % of all goalies have graphics on the forehead of the mask but 2k hardly has any .
Do you notice you dont see any goalie screens this year ???
I have to buy both because NHL 08 has no editing control were you cant update real rosters, no playoff mode and season mode sucks unless you like playing with Sid the kid on another team than pitt.
What a waste all these games had basics so why do they remove more options each year this should be basic .
What do I choose horrible Goalies 2k or inaccurate rosters with horrible franchise and no way to keep real rosters ?

Do you hope its like 2003 where scoring was impossible and not realistic ?
I was die hard 2k and i might be wrong but they have fell behind in making this game better the last 2 years .
If they cant get basic things fixed how will they do with the major things ???
2k seems very quite ?
If nhl07 had any type of roster control , season or playoffs I wouldnt even both with 2k.
They have taped and glue sine old gen .
Just like MLB 2k7 they should have started fresh this year.

On XBOX 360 or PS3 maybe, but still doubtful. But if you really care about realism in gear, go buy NHL 08 and a 360 and you will have everything you could ask for in the equipment category.

I would but they have no playoff mode and no roster control, 2k has no real coaches , bad audio but they have great modes, old teams . I know you can edit a lot but that my be create a player/team only.
I will be buying 2k and renting nhl08 to watch.
These little things add up and 2k should keep up with EA

well now that the game is set to be released on Wednesday if im not mistaken i was going to check and see if any more info has come out about the PS2 version and if all the players equipment will be accurately in the PS2 version, i hope and pray it is cause its going to be a fair ways off till i can get a PS3 or something

I finally got to watch the videos the goalies react great and yes you can edit all goalie gear .
I retract my earlier comments there was just so little info out there .

but back on topic does anyone know any more about the PS2 version and if they will have as many equipment options as have been stated on the website and numerous other sites?
