Leaderboards????

Hopefully, 2k will get it right this year. NBA2k6 and NBA2k7 both fell short on the 360 as far as the leaderboards go.

Hey 2k, how about making a leaderboard for the 360 that actually goes by skill, and not by who can rack up the most wins every month, lol. Just a thought.

Im sick of seeing a fake Top 20. A bunch of people with no lives playin 500 games a month just to be at the top. Get a hold of yourselves.

For example, before I stopped playing 2k7 in Feb., I was like 40-5 and ranked somewhere in the 100's. A guy was right in front of me with a record of 41- 80. Because he had 1 more win than me, that put him higher up than me. That is crap

Yea i agree wit u man..i was 53-1 in march b4 & this guy that was like 55-22 was ranked higher than me..the leaderboards online are really dumb IMO

Yeah I think the last "real" leaderboard as far as I am concerned was on NBA2k6 for the original XBOX. My buddy KingoftheCouch and I were #1 and #2. I got rid of my XBOX in October of 2005, and bought a 360. That was the last leaderboard that actually went by skill and not by wins.

Kyle its Kingofthecouch, mayne I dont think 2K is listening or its something in the programming that wont allow them to create a ranking system like the xbox for the next gen box. 2k6 on the old box was the best, all of the 2k's b4 next gen had good systems, and like dude said the NEED to bring back that system that allowed you to view your friends score/ quarter/ teams etc.. AND 2K BRING ON THE SPECTATOR MODE ALONG WITH THE OTHER THING BEFORE MENTIONED. Atleast tell us why you are not able to do it if you cant.

ya they do need to use the old leaderboard. cuz i had going the lobby and the top rank players has alot games play and all the games the play is against scrubs. nba 2k6 if u play nothing but scrubs u will be down there with the scrubs n the 1000s even if there undefeated. if the use the nba 2k6 leaderboard for next year i will be #1.

Actually to correct your illbuilt input. Back on 2k6, I hit #1 at 14-0 because I played nothing but top 10. Everyone else in the top 10 at that time had played more than I had, but I just focused on them to move up quicker. So in reality, you dont have to play a ton of games to reach the top 10, you just had to play the right people.

You are correct, You just had to play top cats to stay on top. If 2K dont fix this situation I'm going to try the other NBA game I only play online for rank, now i'm forced to play friends for enjoyment.

I like that they reset the leaderboard so nobody can have the bragging right. But i like them to reset it EVERY 2 MONTHS instead...make it a little longer. Also rankings should take into account of skills than of how many games you won.

i love the idea of if you are facing someone that is MUCH lower then u u would lose more Ranks then the little you lost last year like Michigan state (lol just has to throw that in there)

That used to actually take place on the 2k6 leaderboards. Also, if you played someone that was ranked really high, and you were not ranked all that great. You win, you would move up quite a bit in rank. And the guy you beat would move back in rank a lot.

I dont know about the rest of you guys, but the best leaderboard for NBA2k period, was 2k6 for the original Xbox. They had the leaderboards damn near perfect. Only thing I would of changed was when you were like #2 and you played #4. #4 won, and you would get shot back into the 20's, maybe even the 30's.

What we need to ask for is our E.L.O rank to be in perentheses next to our regular rank...so we can see who the ppl are with the quality wins and the who the BumHunters are.

Example:

I usually go like 50-5 in a month...using E.L.O ranking, that would have me in the top 10-20 easily, but because i didnt play 200 games that month like guys that don't go to school/work, my regular rank wouyld be in the 200-300's.

So my rank would look something like this 257(9)...with the 9 being my E.L.O rank so ppl would know that even though i'm not on 24/7, that when I am on i'm handling my business like the top dog that i am....

There may be some truth to this, I think I've heard this before. My only question is why does other games like live and shooting games have a decent leaderboard if its microsofts problem and NOT 2K? If that is the case the 2K you need to bring back the ELO ranking we need something cuz I'm tired of these dudes in the lobbies thinking they are good because they are #1 from played 1000 gms in a month.

It's 100% true:

When i was in ATL for the College Hoops 2k7 Tourney the first question i asked the guys from 2K was "Why is the ranking system so screwed up, it wasn't like this b4".

They said because they are using a microsoft server and that is how microsoft wants their leaderboards.

EA and shooting games can do the leaderboards whatever way they want to because they host their own servers. PS's leaderboards haven't changed beacuse they don't have to deal with microsoft.
