This team is ridiculous. Aside from Having Earl freaking Campbell with a Gold C and a Silver G (Think I Pro Weak Iso over and over and over and over and over...), this team also has a Silver DE, Dan Saleuma, who I think is the Best Bronze DT despite all the love that the Fridge gets, and is the only team with 2 CBs. It is every skill-les player's dream. The team is so good that it made my final 3 even though I don't normally use Earl.

This team I think is pretty weak. Their offense is horrendous with no Earl. Stop Earl and you are golden.

you can have that team
I tried it twice in lobby games and lost both times

Well stopping Earl is easier said than done, especially with the O line legends and with screen passes, and receivers set to possession, it will not be that hard to get first downs. I had a team with no legend WRs and if you set them to possession they will catch most of the balls you throw to them when they are open. You wouldn't want to run an all-pass offense with them, but they can make a catch in a pinch.
You cannot tell anything from playing with these teams in the lobby because pretty much everyone of them will get destroyed. Only 1 team even has 5 legends on D and the rest have 4, 3, or even 2 (!). So just because you couldn't win with this team in the lobby vs. normal teams doesn't mean it won't be a monster in the tournament. Just try to stop Earl Campbell with only 3 or 4 legends on D, because most people who successfuly stop him have 6 or 7.

Air Raid sirens? LOL
I'm afraid that's what a lot of these games are going to turn into. I'd be very surprised to see a low scoring game.

They should add some type of penalty for running backwards on this game. Maybe a run slower out of the pocket backwards penalty, or if you just drop back backwards there is a throw time penalty. To help keep the game more realistic. Most of the passers simply drop back 10 to 15 yards and throw a la Madden (yep, exact same play style). Lineman can't get to them fast enough, and it's not really scrambling. If they ran to the right or left, that would be scrambling.

Gunslingers here. Nice and balanced. That is if I can ever ditch the losing streak I'm on. :)
Given my *normal* game, I'll just sit back and pick you apart on 12-15 play drives.

I don't neccessarily disagree with you about scrambling, but there already *is* a penalty. If you use anything less than a gold QB, passing gets REALLY hard doing that. I usually use Joe Theisman, but I tried dropping to a bronze or generic QB for a while (since I tend to play ball control, I thought having a fancy QB didn't really matter), and what I found is that passing speed, ie the time from when you press the pass button, until the ball comes out, zip on the ball, ie, how fast the ball gets to it's destination, and overall accuracy SERIOUSLY suffer if you drop back 10-15 yards vs taking a normal drop, planting your feet, and throwing.
Vs. Gold QB's, yeah...it turns into a shooting gallery, no question about it, but then they wasted one of their golds on that ability, leaving holes to exploit elsewhere.

Stopping Earl Campbell is easy. All the passing teams have at least 4 players in the front 8 and a safety. Legend O-lineman are basically pointless. They are faster and smarter in the open field....good lead blockers.....but at the point of attack it is not a huge advantage. I practiced with the Dragons and my Gold and Silver lineman couldnt dominate a double team in order to make a whole over and over again. Good luck with your team though.

Bowdown and I played a couple of games last night with tourney rosters and I was able to keep Earl to just over 100 yards in a low scoring game that ended up 17-7 so a) it is possible to "contain" Earl (but probably not completely stop him) with a tourney team with only 4 legends on D and b) not every tourney game is going to turn into a blowout.
Whoever commented about being able to move the chains with the Earl roster was right. With that team Bowdown was able to mount some massive drives. His first drive took up the entire first quarter and change, but still just ended in a FG. His WR's & TE's weren't great but they were enough to break up the monotony and keep the drives going.

IMO the Gunslingers might be able to stop him well, since they have both a Gold OLB (Derrick Thomas) and a Gold CB (Willie Brown) which can be great for stopping the Rice/Young team that I think will be two of the most picked teams to play as.
