I've tried to play an online game with at least 10 different people. It will tell me the game is starting and then proceed to tell me I am unable to start the game and I should check the 2K sports website and FAQ. I've looked, there is nothing of the sort.

Anyone having the same problems?

This happened on last year's game at first as well. Make sure all ports are opened and you should be set.

okay, maybe it's my router.....i have port 3658 forwarded to my PS2. I also have the IP set in the DMZ. However, I STILL CAN'T HOST!! It goes to gathering opponent info for the other person then back to lobby screen

I have switched to several IP's and set them to the PS2, still no luck....numerous others having same problem. I have played a few games but others have hosted and most don't work.

I'm using a D-Link, DI-524 (i think, it's downstairs and not checking model right now).

Anyone have ANY ideas of what else to try here?

Thanks in advance......

im having hte same problem, how do you port fwd? and how do you set your IP to the PS3's IP? cause the only IP that i find on my PS3 is the routers IP and that doesnt help too much. 192.168.0.101 is kinda the same for everyone.

Yup this is retarded man, i cant play unless i getchallenged by someone that has it opened and thats not every one, yesterdaythere was 5 people and none ofus could play each other, this is retarded, i know people with opening port hosted as well as me before one day there was a maintenance and servers were down a day after that not everyone was able to host(2k7).

Well I'm convinced that it's not me. My router and ports are all setup fine.

I can now host and join games, but on a limited basis. Doesn't always seem to work. Very Stupid.

Yea i've got everything forwarded properly setup for NHL 2k3 way back then. Definitely not me. Only difference is for 2k7 and 2k8 i'm using the D-link di-524 too, and i saw someone mention that here too. But i don't have problems in any other games. 2K7 was fine except for the odd drop.

Tonight i just tried 10 games in a row they all dropped. This is horrid. Did anybody even test the online this year before they released it, or is it all d-link?

Either way 10 games in a row is horrible. I have 5mbits a second down, and something ridiculously lower up 512mbits up i think. Plus i'm right downtown vancouver, there's no way it could be my internet either.

Can somebody from 2k answer us? I hope its not like this during the tournament, a lot of people will be winning games then it drops to lose that same game later. That wouldn't be fair really.
