View Full Version : I Absolutely Will Not Play Against Created Players

Ive given too many people the benefit of the doubt, but experience has taught me that 8 out of 10 of them are going to be cheesers.
I played a guy who had one created player, instinct told me to not accept the game, but since the rest of his team matched up well with the squad I was going to play with, I decided to play.
I should have listened to instinct. I knew it was a bad sign when on the first play of the game, I see Earl Campbell lined up on defense.
Anyway, I score..and then on his posession, Out came a 7'0" Scrambing, Speed Burner, Rocket Arm QB, with Don Maynard lined up at Tight End, and out came the no huddle offense and swing passes to earl every other play. After 5 plays of this, I quit the game.
Its not just a matter of winning or losing...its being able to enjoy the game that you are in , and I do not feel like putting up with nonsense like that...plain and simple.

^^^^well I play mostly quick match rather then sit around in the lobby...so it is pretty much hit or miss.
Plus I think the unusually high amount of disconnects might turn some folks off, even though I have played a ton of games and my feedback is over 80%.
I live in an awful area as far as high speed connectins go.
It ALWAYS conks out big time at certain times of day..sigh..

And there is always the chance of the CAP having 5 abilities. Its not cheese, but Id rather not play someone with 5 abilities of their choice

EXACTLY!
That was the worst idea ever. "Let's give players that play entirely too much the ability to create even more unbalanced, overpowered CAPs and let them use them online against people who don't spend their life in front of the game to get all the achievments."
Good idea 2K....
I pretty much try to avoid CAPs myself. I got into a game the other day and it was late so I wasn't paying attention, but the guy had 2 gold safeties that he had created that were an absolute pain in the butt.

You're all a bunch of whining girls. I play straight up and there is nothing wrong with CAPs whether I'm using them or someone else is. Too many whiners on this board. Pop the titty out of your mouth and grow up, it's a game.

^^^let me guess..they had loose ball magnet, ball hawk, and coverage bonus.
This is a deadly trio, because when you combine the ball hawk with loose ball, you will be seeing that safety come swooping in from nowhere to grab the pick on the fly, on those balls that bounce around and usually end up incomplete.

While I don't think anything is wrong with playing with players that are already in the game, playing with two 7-foot recievers with "route God" and a 7-foot tight end with "route God" is cheating. C'mon now, that's not real............

Ok, I'll give you the 7 foot receivers are cheap. I made a mock NFL team which is all created players though and I printed out the current roster and made them true to life. Now everybody is whining about CAPs and I notice I run into people who are afraid to play me more often because all the whining that is going on. My players have their true to life height, weight, hell even their college is listed correctly. I also tried to give them abilities that reflect their real playing styles. Because of all this ****ing and moaning people automatically think I am going to be cheap, when in reality I am putting myself at a disadvantage because I get way less abilities on my team. there are silver legends with 5 abilities but my silver CAP only gets 2, so how is it cheap? You can't determine if a player is going to play sim or not just by seeing if he has CAPs on his team. Use a little more common sense than that people.

There is nothing wrong with created players. I never understood, and never will understand, the uproar against created players. There is only one exception to being upset at people using created players, and that's if they have guys that are of unrealistic proportions... like a 7'0" quarterback or receiver. Other than that, created players are fine. Even with the five abilities!

That pretty much descibes it. I'm not sure what abilities they had, but both of these guys would come from anywhere and swipe the ball. It was pretty ridiculous.
And let me rephrase what I said about not playing CAPs..... I won't play CAPs in a ranked game. I'm putting together a Niners team that will be all true to life, but I won't use that team in ranked games either. If someone wants to play an NFL themed game, that is fine, but I'll be doing it as just an exhibition type game.

I agree, play the damn game. If your tired of losing, then either dont play or up your game more. I play against C.A.P.'s all the time. I dont mind cuz its a challenge. Win some lose some. Get over it,you wont win every one.

I use NFL like teams as well and your right, My gold players have 3 attributes, my silver have 2 attributes and my bronze have one attribute.....so who has the advantage in the game. The fact that I use a CAP team or one of my lobby teams doesnt change the way I play.....................

Quick Matches? Those were fine for about 2 weeks. Now the only people who play quick matches are either the people who have such bad feedback that no one will play them in the lobby or people who are either too stupid or too naive to know better. If you play a quick match you should understand that they are going to be cheesefests 75% of the time (at least). That's the way it is. You don't stick your hand in a fire and complain when you get burnt or antagonize a lion and complain when he bites you. Use your head. If YOUR feedback is good you shouldn't have to wait around too long in the lobbies. Unless it is like 4 am I have never had to wait for longer than 5-10 minutes at the very most, and wouldn't you rather wait 5 extra minutes to get a great game instead of wasting an entire hour of your life on a BS game?

Gotta agree with this. And the more you play these guys the worse your record will get and the less chance you'll get to play any decent games.

Yeah just look at their feedback. Of course you have no way of telling at the team menu if they have 7footers. But keep in mind created players are NO WHERE as good as the legends on the game. Regardless if their a gold star or not. You can't give them as many attributes, but that's understandable because of guys like you played. The only team I play with is my created Ravens team because I'm tired of having the same players as everyone else. As a result I loose a lot more games than I did when I was using the legends, but it's hella fun.

He said 8 out of 10 are cheesers. If you have CAPs and use them fair.. you're 2 our of 10. Great.. good for you. I have a CAP Redskins team I use in a mock NFL league.
That doesn't mean you need to insult someone who just got cheesed by 7ft players

^^..True. Like I said, its about personal preference for me. I am sure that there are guys who play with normal created players.
My personal preference is to not bother to find out, unless it is a guy who I have played regularly, that's all.
My main point is that more often then not, it just isnt an enjoyable game. What fun is it to put up with someone's nonsense, even if I am winning? I like to actually enjoy the game, win or lose. Too each their own

I just play the game with my best team, and play the best I can. I honestly don't check to see if their are created players and I don't use any when I compete online (for leagues yes, but not for ranked games).

8 out of 10? Where did these statistics come from? Was there some kind of survey I missed out on? The majority of people I have played with CAP's played straight, because I make sure that their feedback is above 85%, and if I play someone who plays like a douche, I suck it up and move on to the next game I don't go straight onto the message boards and make a big deal out of it. My point is, this kind of complaining makes people look for created players and then leave the game at the team selection screen because they assume a created player means you don't play sim. Leave bad feedback and move on to the next game if you have a bad experience, don't make a big deal out of it.
Leaving a game just because someone has a created player may screw yourself out of playing a really good opponent. Hell, you may play someone who has a full team of created players and it may turn out to be the best game you've ever played. All I'm saying is there is way too much whining on these boards about CAP's which leads people to believe that a CAP automatically means you won't get a fun game out of it.

It's important created players be allowed online in ranked games. Isn't that what everyone requested? A fully customizable game?
If 2K doesn't get the NFL license back in 2010, they are going to create a truly customizable game where you can create a full roster of created players.
They have plenty of time to figure out how to not allow cheesers to run wild with it.

^^^^ that will be a great thing. And again, its just a preference thing..if you had to deal with nonsense 3 games in a row, it is going to make ya a little gun shy that 4th time.
I played a guy once who had an '86 giants squad and he was a good, quality opponent..but unfortunately for every one guy like this, there are more guys with their vick wanna be's, and mutant players. Its just silly, and not a game that I think is worth playing, even if I beat these guys most of the time.

Well, it was more of a general insult than a personal insult directed at any one person. I just think that the feedback system does it's job to let you know if a player is worth playing. Coming on here and complaining helps to embed it into people's mind that if you use created players then you are automatically going to play cheap. If you make a personal decision to not play people that use created players, then that is your business, but coming on here and making a post about it is pointless and only hurts people who play fair games and also use created players.
