View Full Version : Tourney with cash prizes!

I'm running a cash prize tourney. It's 12$ to join. I want to see how much interest is out there. I have a list of Elite players who are already qualified. Most of the forum is welcome in the tourney others will be looked into if there are questions about their game play. They must play me or someone from my list if that is the case.

I want to see how much interest is here so rules about gameplay will come later and I will also consider options from anyone who feels a rule is not fair or options on how to make it a better tourney. This tourney is for US true gamers who want to make a little cash while playing the game they love.

All decisions will be carefully looked into to make sure everyone is treated fairly.

Sign in if your interested. This should be a great experience!

12 * 36 = $432

I will be running a tournament as well. It will be weekly, and only cost $10 per person. We need 36 players in order to get $360 a week. Prizes will be awarded within 6 months. At $360 a week, I think that will come close to covering my house payment. <grin> But.. no worries, all prizes will be awarded. I *promise*. ;)

There was another thread about a tournament, but entry was only $5. I don't think it ever took off though.

I would never join a cash tourney the first time around. Maybe after you run it a bit and have proven that you aren't going to run with the money, I might join. Way too much dishonesty going on in the world out there today.

I would not mind giving it a try. $15 is not a lot of money. If I then see that it is a scam then I would not do it again. However, I would give the person running it the benefit of the doubt and if he messes up it is his reputation that will go down the drain.

True...but I'm cheap as hell. I like to know that I am getting value out of every purchase I make...no matter how large or small.

Pre-snap Dline movement wouldn't be allowed... so you wouldn't join either way.

Check my feedback on APF 2k8 and you will at least get a glimpse of how I am. I'm not going to try to convince people that this isnt a scam becuase it would be pointless. Try it out and see for yourself. It's only 12 and will be run and moderated as professionaly as possible.

Uhhh...I am pretty sure you have me confused with someone else because I do not move any of my players except my safety (sometimes) presnap.

This is true . This is one of the rules that will be in the Official Rules.

LOL...that is more than fine. I don't do it anyway. Either this guy has me confused with someone else or he is bitter about about an *** kickin but I NEVER move my d-line presnap.

Having dealt with you a little bit here, I think I would be down for this. I obviously, would like to see a copy of the final rules before I commit either way and I would like to see you offer a second place (and maybe a 3rd and 4th) prize as well--much like a poker tourney. I would also like to see Earl Campbell restricted if that is possible. I don't want to lose money to a guy who has no skill and just runs with earl cambpell 80% of the game and throws deep to jerry rice the other 20%. That isn't sim ball in my opinion. Bottom line is, if they are really as good as they say, they should have no problem using a different running back.

Oh and I'm assuming this will be on Legend difficulty? That is definitely a deal breaker for me.

There will be 2nd and 3rd place cash prizes. The total amount for each place will be determined by the amount of players who enter. I'm looking for around 32 players to make it worth it.

If enough people want to play on Legend , that's fine. I may have to do two tourneys at different levels if I get enough players for each.

I'll put out rules tonight or tomorow.

Thanks Smith146!

Everyone tell sim players to join this via Xbox Live. There is really no limit to the number of players that can join.

Does anyone know how to tape games? I've never tried to do it myself but it would be nice if everyone could tape thier games . It would help me to be able to tell if people are going against the rules. If it's easy to do I may have that as one of the guidelines for games. That is, tape them.

Having everyone tape games would probably be a little unrealistic since speciality equipment that most people do not have is required. However, I think just a still-shot image can say alot.

Ok we have two more great aditions in JakeTheSnake and HeavensFinest .

Here is the deal everyone. For EVERY person that you have join the tourney I will knock off 4 dollars per person . You can get as many people to join as you want but you can only get in for free. In other words the most money you can get is in the tourney for free and no more than that. Just have your referals sign in here and leave the name of the person who refered them. Remember, the more we have in the tourney the more the prizes will be.

Also, I may need help running the tourney. Contact me via PM if you are interested. You will AT LEAST get into the tourney for FREE. If there are enough people who sign up you will also get extra cash.

We need more people to sign up for this. Hopefully by next Friday everything will be set up and get the brackets together.

As for the rules I don't have a complete list but I will just say that all rules will be fair and included to find the most SKILLED player as the Champion.

Have someone else do it. :D I went to school for four years to learn web design and still meet day to day struggles. Unless you want something very, very simple, find someone else to design it for you. I might be willing to have one of my designers put something simple together for it if you wouuld wave my buy in for a few rounds. :) You could just work it in as a "rake" so that people are paying toward prize money plus maintenance.

Sending you a PM.

Also I may add a "ladder system" for rankings. Say the number 150 guy plays the guy number 75, he would move up half way between 150 and 75. There would also be 4 separate ladders.

The Ladders would look like this...

1. All Pro All Sim
2.Legend All Sim
3. Anything Goes All Pro
4. Anything goes Legend

Plus there would be a feedback system and players to monitor other players gameplay to see if they are SIM and reporting thier losses.

It's all about the money. If I can build this up I would just make my money off of ads and all other money would go to the Cash Prizes.
