Butkus can stop the run better than anyone else at the game at inside linebacker. BUT Derrick Thomas has the ability to get Reggie White-like pressure in the passing game when used right. I have been experimenting with DT in practice mode attempting to unlock his full potential, and it looks like if you can use the pass rush moves well, he can change the outcome of games and flat out take deep routes away.

I personally think that if someone can get DT to pass rush like his abilities say, he should be a more valuable LB than Butkus because of what can happen in the passing game.

What I do is pick the teams that i think would scare my opponent.. you know? A good defense always freaks me out, for instance deacon and reggie for gold picks, i'd play you, but i'd probably get sacked 5 times, hurried 15 times. You gotta get into the mind of your opponent's head. Forget about a team that works for you, because any qb can throw, any wr can catch, any rb can run. It's good strategy and intimidation that wins you a game. Here's another good example, alot of people seem to be going for it on 4th down these days, let's make them think twice before they even bother. Get what i'm saying? Hope this helped.
