Instead of flaming, I think it would much more helpful for the members to post constructive criticism and give 2k as much detail as possible with bug/issue reporting.

2k, you could have a team of bug testers available for free, right here in the forums if you demonstrate you are listening to your clients. Both our goals are aligned, we want not only a playable online game, but an entertaining one as well. Providing that to your clients will ultimately result in conquering your EA rivals for the customer dollar.

Now, your already a step above with the offline gameplay which is fantastic. But the online gameplay needs much work. Here's a list of current issues.

1. Network lag:
When you play someone who probably has too many hops or just a bad connection, the game's framerate creates migranes. I'm guessing it's dropped frames or packets, but the result is an unplayable game because the joystick is unresponsible and hand/eye coordination becomes impossible mostly because vision is blurred.

2. Network drops:
An average of 3 out 6 games will drop in a night. I've noticed it happens within the first few minutes, but it's also happened near the end of a game quite a few times. Near the end may be the other player dropping due to a potential loss.

3. Overall feel:
NHL2k7, when I won, it felt like it was because of skill, when I lost I felt because it was the skill of my opponent.
NHL2k8, the entire game feels like a random barrage of fluky goals. Games I should have won, I loose and games I should have lost I win... I don't have any suggestions for this, but it all feels very random.

4. One timers gone
One timers are a big part of hockey but the goalie's skill level via one timers has increased a little too dramatically. It was a problem where it was a little too easy in nhl2k7 but now it's impossible to one time. I haven't seen one online. I've seen many attempts where the goalie repositions himself to make impossible saves and watching the replay is quite humorous. Note: The speed burst across goal is the new one timer problem.

5. Collision bugs
I've seen allot of replays where the player's stick with go right through the goalie's legs, arms, pads and the goal post.

6. Glitchy Goal
This is a little hard to explain. But some people have picked up on this method of scoring which is to come drive to the net and have an epileptic attack and the puck goes in. Looks like the player is twitching like a crackhead overdosing and the puck just goes in, every time... Very effective but greatly reduces the enjoyment of online play.

Anyhow, that's my opinion of what's crippling online play as of yet.

If you need any more details perhaps video replays, I'd be glad to set that up as I'm sure other players would.

Peace.

Yea you make a lot of good points. Network drops are really ****ing me off. Some of the stuff you're talking about isn't bugs but your skill, ie one timers are still bad in this game if you pull it off the right way.
