I am thinking of picking up a copy. Madden is a mess of a game, you either get frozen or disconnected online. I am only interested with online so after all this time are you able to get through a game without a freeze and are the games still playable?
Thanks

the gameplay online is far better than madden and as long as you watch who you play (make sure they have good feedback and not alot of quits or disconnects) it's well worth it & most games are sim and fun

Quits shouldnt be a problem. If someone quits alot, its becuase they arent very good at the game and its an easy win. That may be good for people just starting. lol

Ok I saw the word "fun" when describing online play. I think its time to get away from that mess of an online experience EA has in Madden. Fumbles, 4 sec's to choose a D Play, freezes, disconnects. etc...etc...I cant wait to give it a shot. Thanks for the response!

You'll be a convert... and wonder why you ever picked up "Messy 08" from EA.
"EA... If it's in the game... uh, we probably oughta look at putting it in there..."

Online play is the BEST EVER for a football game. The Tier system creates a pretty good balance of teams with the ability to tailor it to you style of play.... so that in the end the determining factor of the winner is skill.

Hey guy,
As a former madden addict (15-20 games a week, year round) I can tell you there aren't nearly as many peeps playing online in APF as in Madden. On a good day, its around 400-500, with madden it was over a 1000. i am wondering how hard its gonna be to find a good game (not the glitch yahoo I just played) after january comes and goes.
peace

I'd never played online before this game. It took me awhile to get online even after its release because of all the horror stories about poor sports and cheesers. But once i started, i realized how much better this game is online. I've only played 15 games online and have 100% feedback, i haven't given anyone a negative feedback either. So far it's been a great experince, no freezing or anything.
Oh, and if you don't already know APF is only $29.99 regular price at Target now.

I have Madden and APF. APF is a far better game as far as gameplay goes. Madden gets the nod for features.
I play Madden strictly offline, and APF stirctly online. If you have XBL, you need to get APF.

apf online play is cheeser friendly :)

Madden online is cheeser friendly as well. But with APF's rating system no matter how flawed some may say it is, it does work. You will not get any cheesers at 90% or over. and rarely at 80% or over.

Well I got and liked the game play but when I went online at 4:30pm east coast time there were 3...I repeat 3 people in the lobby. That was disappointing.

That was disappointing.Halo3 is killing all other games online right now. APF didnt have a big userbase as it was. lastnight 2am pst, there was about 580,000 people online. lol

Yes, because of Halo people arent on as much. But it is going to be just like when Madden came out. It was slow for a week or so, then people got bored of Madden, and came back to APF. That is whats going to happen with Halo3 as well I imagine.

Look me up if you got the 360. I just got Xbox Live as well, so far, 2 wins/ 2 losses and 100% feedback. And I haven't and won't (as long as you're not a glitcher) give negative feedback. My name is gametag, look me up or add me :)
