View Full Version : Screw who you think will be good in 2k8, which gamers do you think will suffer now?

Which players do you think will SUFFER from the new gameplay? Any ULTIMATE cheesers out there you can think of that might have trouble adapting to the new gameplay?
I haven't really got anyone specific to mention since I never usually play a cheeser more than once. No one stands out for me but I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who know of hardcore cheesers that might have to change their gaming ways if they want to stay in the top ranks this year.

People that spin and dunk every play. Plus, the people that relied on the football pass off a inbounds. Also, people with low basketball I.Q's will be exposed!

^^^YO, did you guys get the game yet?
I just played the demo so far. I'm still concerned about people being able to use the constant crossover dribbling and then spin moving in the paint cheese all game long.
I've tried it out with Duncan and it was pretty easy to just keep using the crossover move to dribble to anywhere I wanted in the paint against the CPU defense, then spin move followed by a dunk. Hopefully there's some D to counter this more effectively online.

I don't know about that, it also seems that unless they try to throw it down with a dunk, a shot in heavy traffic is most likely to just clank off the rim. I'd probably only play in HOF mode online anyways.
I'm going to create my own NBA 2k website and write a small blog for everyone I play online. I'll list all the abusers and such on there. It won't be some crappy, free server site either. I am an actual web designer. I will also be looking for a few trustworthy people to help run it and list their own experiences against other users online.

I like HOF mode, I think it helps cut down on cheese. The only problem is that outside 3's and mids also become more difficult in HOF mode. So in 2K7, I've played guys in HOF mode who do nothing but shoot in the paint ALL game long....and don't even risk a lower % outside shot. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see the cheesers just trying to wiggle their way into the paint all game long in HOF mode.
It's good to hear it's finally available, so we at least have an option in ranked matches.

^^^I'll help you out if you're interested? It seems we're looking for the same things from this game. We're just basketball fans...You Knicks...and Me Pistons....and we just want to play a game where it doesn't seem like we're playing some retard who is just constantly trying to use the games programming weaknesses to win.....and always choosing the cheeser friendliest teams (aka Cavs and Rockets) and thinking they're good.
We need to come up with a big list of players who tend to play SIM style. So we avoid the cheese as much as possible.
I don't know how you feel, but leagues tend to be a lot of work to try and schedule games and find someone in your league that is on at the same times. I just like to get on and play a game and not have to worry that I'm playing some idiot who has zero basketball IQ and runs around like a moron and are successful at it because they learned some of the programming weaknesses in the game.

No one will suffer, cheesers are like incurable viruses: eventually, they will come back stronger and more cheesy.
You see, everyone who knows that they can't spin dunk and full court pass isn't going to buy the game, but the people who are serious about being the best will find exploits. There are always exploits... a lot of cheesers are smarter than you think, believe it or not. They might not respect the game, but they are giving themselves the best chance to win. If they can't win, then they will change their game... or quit.
There is still a travel glitch, btw, but I'm not sure if it's effective...

Every time I try the travel glitch I've missed layups so maybe they're penalizing for that.

Yeah, make sure that when you get 2k8... when you play online, write down the exact names of people you play, the final score of the game and a small (or big) description of what the opponent was like (if they cheesed, glitched, played sim etc). I'll start working on the site tonight, I should hopefully have the core of it created in 24 hours and eventually, I'll have the forum public for others to join.
I think Giveyadogabone is also doing this with me.

lol, it's true. This will always be a video game and a video game will always have exploits. There will always be a powerful move that is unrealistic that people will base their game on.
However, as long as it doesn't look like some NBA jam ish, I am not as worried.
