Are camera settings specific to me and my opponent? i.e: If I am away and set it to Away Always Up will that effect me only or also my opponent?

It effects you only

Also once online your opponet can change to his own
preferred setting as well, even the amount of zoom.

I like 3/4 view with a 30 to 40 zoom
