I think the chances are high if EA doesn't re-sign a contract with the NFL. However, I think the chances are real low if a re-signing occurs. Hmmm...

u know...i'm so in love with making my own team i don't even miss the NFL...i don't think EA will let the rights get away from them though...and if they did wouldn't it be great if we could have the nfl players and the legend players (like the 2k8 team creating system) in an option mode??? 2 games in one...that would be spoiling us.

There is absolutely no chance 2k is getting that licsense back.

I would agree with this. I think the addition of Peter Moore to EA makes this almost a certainty. Moore knows the value of exclusivity. We won't let anyone else have the NFL license.
Having said that, I really want 2K to open up the custumization on the next APF title. They held back this time with hopes of not upsetting the NFL. Let it go, 2K. Open up the arsenal and show us what a great game you can make.

The contract with EA runs out at the end of 2009 so it would be NFL 2K10.

I hoping for the best for everybody. Knock on wood and keep your ears open on the final four months after Madden 2010 is released. I can just imagine at the time millions of 2K gamers on the edge their seats, nervously waiting with sweaty palms, searching for leaking information and counting every minute of the last days of that EA contract, hoping not to hear the worst. If the contract expires everybody is going to party like it's 1999.
