I am going to love watching O.J. torch the Pac-10 this season before he heads to the League. The hate he receives is unjustified. He is not perfect but no player is, not even Michael Jordan.

i think the hate he receives is because of the amount of hype he receives before he even proves himself to be a star player in college. and from what i understand, scouts don't even peg him to be the best guard in his class.
but he looks like a solid player, and im curious to see how he turns out.

Crap like this is why he receives the hate. NO PLAYER should ever have this type of attitude:
“Let me call him,” Floyd said.
The man shook his head again. “O. J. doesn’t give out his cell,” he said. “He’ll call you.”

Michael Jordan wasn't even all of that. I could name a lot of better players than him. I would say he was very good but not even the best.
And i hope to god that the whole Reggie Bush thing is over USC with the NCAA. Cause if they are looking into it for basketball too he might just be screwed. He isn't what you call book smart since he had to sit out his senior year for a couple playoffs for not passing a class.

Not all that? I grew up watching Michael. No other player in history compares with MJ. He may not have been the fastest, or the highest jumper, or the strongest, but MJ is the all around best player ever to pick up a basketball.

Do you even understand what players like him go through? I do, I am a professional basketball trainer working with some of California's top prospects, and a scout in recruiting. O.J. had a plan on what schools give him what he wanted. A large market, an upcoming program, and a Pro coach. Just like in College Hoops, where prospects have interests. He had his interests and USC met them. He O.J. does not have to give his number out to anyone and USC did not have to offer him a scholarship. O.J. is one of the few players that have enough pull to do that, where most prospects have to wait to hear whether they will be accepted or not. There is nothing wrong with that. He did not break any rules, overtly. Several of my prospects hate late calls and improper calls. O.J. gets more than anyone else, so it is reasonable to see why he does not give out his cell phone. All of my players do the same thing. It is not wise, as coaches share information.

Well, I used to live about 30 minutes away from Huntington High School (OJ's HS), and he did a lot of trash talking and stuff. He also knocked a referee over in a game at the Charleston Civic Center, although that looked pretty fake.

As someone involved in various levels of college athletics.....yes, I understand. Also, OJ could have contacted USC himself...instead of someone else "laying the groundwork" for him. There is a great quote about leadership...."never ask someone to do what you would not do yourself." I don't hate OJ...I just question his attitude & perception of reality.

3 people who are better than him. Magic and Bird. I know how everyone saids that Jordan kept basketball alive, but if it wasn't for those two no one would of ever known who Jordan was. Basketball was dying until they came in the league and were amazing.
One of the greatest players who would blow out Jordan would be Big O. If anything he was the first Jordan. He played the game flawless and could play multiple positions.
The only reason why everyone saids Jordan is the best is cause of his ability to dunk and make spectacular plays near the basket. Yes I will give u credit he was a clutch person and made a lot of game winning shots. Also Jordan's cast was just that. His cast. Everyone had a role and they knew it. Also doesn't hurt to have Pippen as a teammate.
Also another reason why Jordan was so great was his size. First "true" player who was able to play guard at his size and move like he did. Of course he goes up against people who are a couple of inches smaller than him and could still move as fast as they could.
For people who say Jordan was the best have only watched him and don't really know anything about basketball.
Its like saying Jordan was better than Jerry West. While most people say hands down Jordan was better. Just cause everyone has seen Jordan played at least a full season on TV. Plus the game was different back then so you just can't assume. I won't knock Jordans work ethic either since it was top notch, but to say he was the greatest ever just makes me laugh.
