WHen you take your foot out of your mouth you can respond. Otherwise, be quiet. Instead of going by last years final rankings, Visual Concepts ranked teams by pre season predictions. The Redskins were 6th overall in defense last season but the are ranked towards the bottom of the league in this game.

The Dolphins were not this good last year and they did not come into this season as being the favorites in thier own division. (The Patriots were rated higher)

So why the hell are the so strong in this game I ask?

Reason why the fins are so strong is b/c there's no intangibles in vid games, and player by player, the dolphins have so much talent it's amazing that we lose year after year :(

Trust me, I know, I'm a season ticket holder and have to suffer through our BS losses year after year. Look at our defense, 2 pro-bowl CB's, 2 pro-bowl safeties with the addition of the knight. a pro-bowl DE and MLB, not to mention the rest of the defense, which owns. then look at our offense. Jay fiedler=extrememly underrated QB. RW is incredible. McMichaels is as good as any pass-catching TE. Our only real problem is our receivers, though they proved themselves last week vs the giants.

In vid games, the over-all ratings are based solely on the average of individual ratings. The fins, on an individual basis are incredible, though on the field we always find a way to screw up. Probably the most under-achieving team of the decade.

VS Phins I'm minus 20 in TO ratio. Played them today vs top 50 player and i had 5TOs and lost by 10. Game was over in 1st half, i marched down to the 1 threw a screen pass and the CB jumped the pass from 5yrds away for the TD. Then I had a man open by 5 yrds 2 times and threw a bomb ..the Cb again leaped 5yrds to make a 1 handed catch twice. Then I ran a simple out caught the ball got hit and the Phin LB caught the ball and returned it for a TD. Its so sad that from now on its Phins vs Phins for me. Maybe I just suck..lol.

I think that's the case. I have yet to lose against the dolphins. I've lost to the ravens, raiders, chiefs and raiders. I've played the fins MANY times. THeir defense is good but I usually don't have MANY problems defeating it with my many schemes, screens, passes, runs, fakes, trick plays etc... I make good use of my pats playbook ;)


btw what team were you? Fins aren't really that different than the other teams, you gotta know how to defeat them and learn your opponent's style as you play. My half time adjustments are fantastic. I usually excel in the 2nd half and take the game over if it's close or I'm down

I guess Ive been lucky to not play the Phins very much this year but the one time I did play them the guy would run a toss with Ricky and run strong towards the sideline then do a little circle and cut it back with almost no loss of speed. he wasnt doing a cutback or juke or anything he was just doing a little circle. I thought that was pretty cheesy.

yeah they like to let the cpu play for them. All those int's and broken tackles are cpu caused. I played the Phins yesturday and Ricky broke 5 tackles on one play and only one move was executed, the rest were just players slipping off of him for no reason. They also inted me twice with leaping plays make by the cpu. I beat the guy but it just proves my point that REAL players like to test themselves and REAl LOSERS let the cpu do all the work for them. I would be ashamed if i won a game where the cpu made all the plays, whats the point? To prove that you can pick the higher rated team? What a joke.

GHS-You must have really wanted an XBOX for Christmas and you got stuck with a PS2. Talk about console envy. It doesnt even make sense that someone wouldnt be equally good on which ever console they were on. But then again the XBOX controller has A,B,X,Y for the buttons. i didnt buy my ps2 until xbox prices had already dropped. I bought a ps2 cuz thats what all my friends had and all the games i played were available on it while xbox is geared more towrds rpg and shooting nonsense. my friend and i played a dude who was the dolphins 3 times yesterday. he was 24 - 0. the 1st game we beat him 35 - 28 and he had 92 yards rushing with williams. the 2nd game we won again 38 - 3 NO TDs, and 42 yards running for williams. 3rd game we won again, 30 - 10. williams with 104 yards rushing. my point is yes, players who r the dolphins SUCK because all they do is run run RUN and if they cant run which is the case againest us, they try to make us quit or get blown out of the water. 95% of dolphins players ive ever played ALL go to williams 90 - 95% of the time. if that doesnt work they throw, and thats even worse. they cant throw worth **** so ya i agree your the dolphins your good when your them, try being the chiefs, or the steelers or something, and watch your *** get kicked in a hurry, and dont think screens will work.

you get the tiny download content like roster updates that require tiny space so it can fit on a memory card (which btw costs $30 and without it you can't have download content).


Since you only play ONE game, the other dl content don't matter, but to compare the 2 online systems for only 1 game as if people on xbox live only buy it for one game is pretty dumb.

A Freind of mine was a beta tester for X-Box...and he loves it. I have PS2...and I love it.

My friend actually does conceed that PS2 has a broader appeal...largely due to the Broadband requirement the subscription fee. Both systems work quite well...it's just a matter of the overall preference in flavor.

I do have both systems and all i can say is there is a lot more babies on ps2.I had 4 people that i played on xbox(2k3) that tried to get me to quit.On the ps2 i had 20+ people diverge on me and 20+ people pause on me.I was thinking of getting the ps2 version for the leagues but i went with xbox and i am very glad.I dont want to go through people diverging on me again this year but you ps2 people will still have to put up with it, now hurry up with the patch MS!

btw, my dolby digital works fine

by the way no lag and no drops on xbox plus when the patch comes out no one will be able to diverge on us :lol:

I just played a guy who chose the fins, he had 2 guys on his xbox. They each choose a DE and since we all know how easy it is to get by the o-line with a human controlled decent DL, they didn't give me no time to pass, plus the blitzes. I still got a decent enough offense. But this is the 1st time I have seen the "dolphin D" really come into play. I mean I throw a pass up the middle and seau and zack thomas jump 10 feet in the air to get the INT. I throw it to an open man on an out, and surtain jumps off his man and leaps for the INT.

This was by far my ugliest game ever. Not to mention I witnessed the best ricky could offer in this game, I mean i have enver seen that many broken tackles ever. On one run he broke my first attempt, then got loose and my second attempt failed, then in a big pile he broke like 4 more, wiggling jiggling away and then he's gone. One play he even ran THROUGH my defender. One guy was tackling him and I had another to help, but ricky broke the 1st tackle while going through the body of my 2nd defender.



Needless to say, I just got embarassed (my first loss on legend too) but damn sometimes the fins are just insanely good. Doesn't happen all the time, but OUCH. It hurts, but that's the NFL can't win em all and you always gonna have bad games, and great games.


Oh right, forgot to mention that Brady got injured on like the fifth play of the game (after going 2/3), so maybe that's the cause for all the INT's but oh well. I still made it close enough until the end when he had yet another INT to go up by 2 scores.

last year was the raiders and fading this year its the dolphins and running every down with ricky.In next years game i hope they put something in that will make a player less powerfull if you give the ball to them every down.The real ricky would get tired if he got the ball every down the entire game

onyx... he does tire, and some plays they substitute him automatically but they do recover far too quickly to full strength. Also it's good that if they keep doing no huddle, ricky will run out of steam and be simple to tackle. They should make tackling a little easier (not that I'm complaining because it makes Antowain Smith actually decent lol :) )

It just comes down to personal preference IMO. Only thing the box has on the ps2 is slightly better graphics and the high definition. ps2 still has the games, and a decent controller :)

All you ever hear from the PS2 fans is "We have more games." Really? If you want to count all the Japanese anime games with subtitles and goofy dance fever games then yeah PS2 has more, but compare top games and Xbox has just as many if not more quality games than PS2. Sony is quickly losing the exclusive games that make everyone get a PS2, case in point- Rock Star games with DTA soon to be on Xbox as well and its only a matter of time before EA realizes they must figure something out with Microsoft in order to cash in on its sports titles with Xbox LIVE.
The facts are Xbox has better graphics,
Has the only DTS 5.1 digital audio decoder built in (PS2 does not have DTS 5.1 channel, only dolby surround),
Has more features along with a huge hard drive,
Has better online gaming with the LIVE service (broadband only so you dont have to deal with laggy 56k users).

The choice is obvious. I have a couple of friends with PS2s and after letting them play around with my Xbox one of them is actually buying an Xbox this week and giving his PS2 to his daughters to play there barbi games on.

The "PS2 has more games" argument is mute now days. Xbox clearly exceeds anything PS2 has to offer now.

1st of all the ps2 does support Dolby Digital and has a built in optical output. Dts is just simply dobly digital with the sound effects turned up which you can easily do with any in game sliders if you want the added noise.
2nd IT DOES HAVE MORE GAMES! I dont really care about that since i only play one but you are saying they WILL work something out or they WILL start making rock star games for Xbox. Well by the time they get around to it the ps3 will be out and microsoft will have NOTHING on sony. I am not a sony fan, the only piece of sony equipment i own is my ps2 but it is more than clear to me why MORE people own ps2's. You xbox guys just dont get it. Leave it alone, this isnt a church board where "saving" ps2 users will get you a free ticket to Zion ITS A GD CONSOLE SYSTEM and just because videogames mean the life to xbox owners doesnt mean that the MAJORITY of people dont give a rats a55 about those meaningless features you guys keep listing. PS2 has more games, period. Now as to who has the games you perfer...that's a different story.

I own my PS2 for two games primarily...and I would own it for one game alone: Gran Turismo 2 (a-spec). GT4 even has a write up in MOTOR TREND. It's that good.

PS2 has always been ahead because of Sony's strategy. Upon launch they made it 'backwards compatible.' Currenty they have more games and more appeal (by cutting out 56k users X-Box loses a signifigant portion of the market) as well as price.

Time will tell in the end.
