The following issue has happened since the day I took the wrapper off 2K8 for the 360. Let me set the stage for this issue, and folks feel free to try to duplicate this on your own system.
Firstly, I bought the hockey game so a friend and I could play 2 player online co-op over the live. We use our favorite teams and join the same team for unranked play. We've enjoyed seemingly endless evenings of fun with the 2k7 title, and we were expecting similar results this time around.
So what we do is we will both log into the live, and I will either use invite friend, or we'll challenge each other in the online custom lobby. We connect and co-op on the same team against the computer for the first game- NO ISSUES. We play through the game fine.
The issue occurs when we try to play another game after the first one. Within the first 5 minutes of game play, the game crashes to the "network conditions error" and I'm prompted to leave feedback. We've tried everything from restarting our systems, or having the other person complete the invite, but we are NOT able to play a second game together without it crashing in the first period. We've removed all types of firewalls and made every effort to complete a game, but to no avail. It seems like this issue will last for 24 hours, and we try again the next day and the issue repeats itself. What the frig is going on here!! It's almost like the servers are programmed to not allow the same people to play together two times in a row. I could see how in ranked games a feature like that would prevent people from padding their stats, but these are UNRANKED games!! Again, the first attempt at connecting for the day works well, but we ARE UNABLE TO PLAY again. Try this out for yourselves in co-op mode. If someone has a gamer tag for me to pair up with to duplicate the issue, send it my way. It's incredibly frustrating because 07 did not have this issue at all. 2K support needs to address this bug. While they are at it, they can address the fact that you cannot change your game style when you choose the "invite friend" option online. The game style defaults down each time, and all options are greyed out for you to change. C'mon guys- you cannot let EA sneak up on you with their game. FIX THIS STUFF!!!
