O.k. guys & girls, I'll get this started. The only rules here are to keep your "wishes" numbered in sequence & don't repeat "wishes". Let's keep this list near the top with good ideas.
0. GET "IN BED" WITH THE UFL!!! If there is ANY way to sign a (exclusive) one or two year deal with the upcoming UFL (www.ufl2008.com) with a 2K Sports option to extend it to a more lucrative long term partnership, that would be a GREAT way to bring back the "franchise mode" to All-Pro. The deal with the UFL could start off as a "mode" in All-Pro 2K9 (UFL Franchise) & can grow (along side the actual UFL) into the main focus of the game with the game being called "UFL All-Pro Football 2Kx" in the future.
1. New player models (not just new, but more varied... I need to see the "guts" on the linemen, the difference b/t the linemen/linebackers/secondary & more items for the players like towels, etc.).
2. A field that gets torn up BASED ON the player's actions on the field.
3. Same thing for the player's uniforms... they should get dirty/torn based on the player's actions, not just how much time has passed on the game clock.
4. The ability to turn off Six-Axis controls on-line. (PS3)
5. More legends (no brainer, right) WITH more Signature Style.
6. I love the player "chatter", but the smack talk needs a LIL more of a hard edge.
7. The ability to use the Eye or Vision cam to really put ourselves in the game.
8. Spectator mode!!!
NOTE: If you reply, remember to start your list at number 9, etc.

Finally.. a 2k9 Wishlist! If only someone has started a post like this before... ;)
There are at least 3 other threads on this very topic. Some of them are even the 'official' ones... not the unofficial official.

9. A "Game Wrap-Up" menu system similar to NBA 2K8.
10. More in-depth tutorial mode & instruction manual.
11. Game modes based on the QB Challenge, etc. that can be played on-line.
P.S: if there were other "wish-list" threads, they obviously didn't last the way they should or they would be on the first page... & if they were "really" official, wouldn't it had been a "sticky" post?

For one thing, this thread wasn't intended to be a debate forum (thank you for that), but it only takes one person to keep it up & no one did it with those. But I will with this one... pretty simple. Hopefully we won't be (debating on this thread) anymore.

15. I think it's important, to get this series going again, for it to come out at a lower price point (about $39.99 or so). This will provide positive press for the game & think of it as a gift to those who didn't think of APF 2K8 as a full-featured game.

7 on 7 = Pure Passing
someone brought this up before but i think it's a great idea. 7 players on offense and 7 on Defense. All passing against the CPU or 2k could take this online which i think would be the best. Maybe not keep score by TDs but rather use a point system.
*completions, *1st downs, *scores.....
or take away points for
*incompletions, *tipped balls, *INTs
and that determines the winner!!!!!!!!!!!!

26 - 'Who's Hot -> Who's Not' rating icon located in forums (Based on the last 10 games).
27 - Use the 2k5 kicking meter instead of 2k8 non-Meter (In 2k8 Kicking early and to one side of the field is a game glitch, the receiving team struggles more then a perfectly kicked ball with a non-ranked kicker).
28 - Customize 11 non-Legend fill-in players with strengths other than what's available, Individual players strength and weakness's even though there a no name player, obviously not able to match legendary abilities, but knowing the individual no name player abilities,, different for each player.
29 - Scouting report - quick pre-game splash screen that shows each teams highest value player defense/offense tackles/yards and favorite 3 plays off/def.
30 - Better commentary pertaining to what's really going on. I went for it on 4th and 2 on the 20 yrd line, being down by seven with 30 seconds left in the game.
Commentary - "O' I would of went for the 3 points"

The easiest way to sum this all up. Get back to the basics. Take a look at NFL 2k5. Take the NFL and Espn logos and personalities out and make up a new League with player names. Keep a similar presentation with more animations. Make up a Sports broadcast station. Like 2kSports..Sporting news or something like that. Take what was great in NFL 2k5 improve it and the graphics and there you go. Bring back what made this Franchise great. Years beyond the current gen and new gen sports games. Dont be too outrageous. Let's play football and bring back Franchise mode. !! WHOOOOAA!!

Leave the game as close to the same as is it now as you can with the ability to save replays online and just add more customization. More equipment options/ logo's/stadiums etc.
Also go to the college overtime system. Thats the beauty of not being married to the NFL you can do whatever you want.

cdronm, why do you like the UFL so much? also...
39. Legend head coaches (I stole this idea from other threads). The HC could impact how all of the players play, depending on what the coach specialized in when he coached (i.e. Walsh-offense) and could give a bonus to players if they actually played on that coach's team (i.e Montana-Walsh)

Big M, 2 reasons really...
First, the people that I'm around seem to have a greater "connection" to players that they can watch & follow today more so than the legends. They do enjoy playing with the legends but it's being able to use the current players that ultimately draw them to the "other" football games.
Second, one of the MAIN complaints of All-Pro was a lack of a "franchise" type mode, but how can you have a franchise mode in a game based around legends (they don't have a specific age, how do you create a salary structure for that)? If 2K starts off a agreement with the UFL with a franchise mode based around that league, it will be a great way to help introduce players to that league WHILE solving 2K's problem of how to create a franchise-type mode around legends.

Okay, so you do you believe that they should have the legends and the UFL players or just the UFL players?
cdronm
November 26th, 2007, 07:08 PM
Both really... the UFL is a new league that will start with a limited number of teams so creating the "full" game around that would be difficult. I think that they should continue what they are doing with the legends & include a "UFL Mode" in the game which would take the place of a franchise mode. As the UFL grows... the UFL's role within All-Pro Football should grow as well until it is what the game is centered around. In my opinion...

I think they should continue the all-pro series.. But I think people will be more happy with players from right now.. Cause you really cant compare madden to all-pro.. Its fun to use the legends but I think it would be moe fun using teams from right now..These are some things they need to upgrade the 2k5:
1. Updated rosters-(Week by week with injuries and trades)
2. More customization-(Create a player, and make a create a team)
3. Able play up to 4 vs. 4 with your online friends
4. Deeper franshise and season mode
5 More items in the crib mode
6. More customization in leagues
7. More commentary
8. Move to 360 with 60 fps
9. More field animations( trash talking, harder hits, weather effects)
10. Better commentary
If they could do just half of these things madden would be dead...And since all-pro has most of this stuff they can definetly incorporate it in 2k9..
Changeup
December 9th, 2007, 12:11 PM
Improve the graphics, 2K8 is not horrid but it could be much better, we know what these new consoles can do, so do it.
More animations , improve on the momentum system.
More presentation, get back to showing more of the fan reactions besides just the field pass, better post game
If you plan on sticking with the legends theme you need way more players.
Bring back the same custom soundtracks set up 2K5 had , no excuses , just about everyone has the HDD and the 360 music player is not even close to the same effect.
Fix some of the problems that still exist with regards to AI and thier terrible open field tackling angles.
Also the late game CPU AI is still just as bad a 2K5
Total customization of everything, players, logos, stadiums, coaches, cheerleaders(bring back the juggy cheerleaders!)
Some kind of franchise and player development.
Reel maker should be included, why hide features? every edge you can get should be taken up front.
Create a sim rules online lobby and a acrade rules lobby and allow players to designate themselves as sim or arcade so players with conflicting styles don't have to play each other and it would eliminate some of the friction online.
I probably have a bazillion ideals but thats all for now.

Don't buy all that marketing garbage saying that the simple way to rate players in APF 2k8 provides for a more intuitive game. The ratings format used in APF 2k8 was a quick fix for this year. I am not against having players with special abilities (pro evolution soccer has used this idea effectively for many years), but this should be used in conjunction with the more traditional numbers system used by all other simulation sports games. You can't rate players by simply saying that a player either has soft hands or doesn't have soft hands; either he has speed or no speed; either he can do something well or not. There should be varying degrees of proficiency in all attributes.
This type of simplistic approach to rating players in sport videogames is more appropriate for non-simulation arcade type of games, which is not what NFL 2k5 fans have come to expect.
Also, this system is inherently flawed because you can't have a good association mode in which players progress if the players are rated in such a simplistic way. Therefore, 2k needs to rate special abilities, but also complement this with a more thorough and comprehensive numbers rating system that relates to other player attributes.
In addition, it really disappoints me to see that 2k put limits on the abilities that could be given to created players. I know that some people like to have limits, but most people don't. There should be an option to disable the limits and let users create players that do justice to who they are creating. For example, in this year's game, you can't create a Deion Sanders, who at least was a speed burner, with coverage skills, bump and run specialist, return specialist, agility and a ball hawk. Right there you have 6 abilities, but the game only allows 3 for created players. These limits on customization of players disappoints me inmensely. Neither NBA 2k8 nor NFL 2k5 have these limits, so why put them in APF2k8? This is a real downer for me with this game.
Anyways, I remain hopeful that these problems can be fixed for APF 2k9 and that an association mode is created. If you don't have current rosters, you need to make up for it with a killer association mode. I still sometimes play NFL 2k5, and the reason is for the association mode, which provided lots of replay value.

1. if one person can have created players that have 5 attributes then we all should get that and not have to do all the achievements.
2. More logos and designs.
3. More and more legends to add to the fun.
4. How about a dynasty or franshise?
5. players that dont always go down when you are tackled by two players. Like the gold players such as Earl Cambell, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton.

January 10th, 2008, 10:20 AM
I agree about the attributes. I think it would be better to limit the total number of attributes on a TEAM. If a Gold can have 5, a Silver can have 4, and a bronze can have 3 as their max attributes, then the maximum total would be 10 + 12 + 18 = 40.
Lets say you start out with being able to have 27 attributes on a team, then when everything is unlocked, they pump it up to 30 to 33 attributes. That way from the get go you can create whatever type of player you would want to create with as many attributes as you see fit.

My wishes for this game are:
1. Better graphics...maybe the one place that Madden totally owns...i got both games graphics way bttr on madden...dnt compare screen shots or close ups only playin the game is madden better
2.Better Presentation...each year this one
3.Better Commentary...no brainer...sort of boring to always have same commentary...add lots more
4. Special Teams...if you look at real life teams run on special teams reverses, fake reverses and try to catch the ball if its a deep fg...also Devin Hester does a fake kneel...add that 2...and Squibs
5.Signature Style...that would be part of animations i guess but add more of it especially when you get the NFL License back...then 4 presentation add Fox with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman
6. 60 fps
7. more legends
8. a franchise mode
9. I dnt know if this would work but like when ur throwin the ball in the new MLB 2k8 they got a pitching thing with the right stick...maybe when u throw use the analogs...hit the face button 2 choose the reciever ur throwin to and then use the analog 2 thro the ball
10. RB Vision...again dnt kno if this would work but everybody talks about a RB and vision using the right analog stick there should be cones that highlight part of the field...ex. (gold star rb = bigger rb cone (like maddens passing cone) means they can see more holes and the defenders that are in the cone its easier to have the defender miss
11. the ability 2 talk online
12. First Person Football with a story mode like NBA 06 The Life...Not Like maddens superstar mode that one sux...
13. I wanna 10x better graphics...Call of Duty type graphics only for 2k football

6. Co-op online gaming
7. Be able to create playbook
8. Move d-line
12. More legends and signature moves
all this almost makes up for the fact you said
"chris berman halftime show"...
THE ONLINE CO-OP is 1 sure way to get guys to play 2k...
most of us have been begging for this for years... guys who wouldnt normally play this game because they like madden or want NFL written on the box will have no choice because EA just isnt listening to great ideas like this....
another thing is that these "wishlist" threads shouldnt be used for arguing... guys should get flamed for ruining them by saying "that wont work" and similar stuff... maybe if we could get a mod to delete those posts altogether so the threads will live it'll be easier to get ideas to people who could potentially care...
of course im used to begging EA for stuff and they dont listen at all... the game comes out with "weapons system" and you go back over 5 years of a million requests and not 1 single one is even remotely related to that nonsense...

Not taking the numerous, outstanding gameplay issues into account:
1. 60 FPS online - Games like Call of Duty 4 show that there is no reason for a sports game's online mode to run at half the speed of the offline modes.
2. More complete customization of team - that includes being able to tweak all of our individual generic players and having a wider range of player parts to build created palyers from. Also, the amount of teams and created players should only be limited by hard-drive constraints.
3. More legends - I know it is difficult because you guys have to sign individual contracts with each legend, but the player pool just isn't diverse enough right now
4. Bring back the individual rating categories - it's obvious that players in this game have ratings which go beyond their abilities, so why hide them from us?

1. keep the current format of creating teams but allow guys to control the scrubs too or get more legends on the squad... there's gotta be guys out there who would love to be represented but even if not 240 guys is enough for most of to choose 22
one possible method would be unlimited bronze choices
another would be iron man
another would be allow unlimited user created players as long as it fits within the confines of level restrictions
2. created plays or at least better selection of plays ... the current formations are cool but they all have the same 40 or so plays/play ideas
3. focus on user friendly control... especially on defense, it would be tolerable if the defense wasnt that great if i could do more manually
4. ditch the sixaxxis motion control completely, i pretty much cant play online at all because im a little spazzy on the buttons i guess, i mean its never been an issue on any other game til now but goalline diving at random while carrying the ball at the 50 is just WEIRD anyway.
5. release the game several months before EA puts out ncaa... its not like you need to wait or anything and contrary to the current belief of the cult here the goal isnt to make less people to play EA games... it should be to have more people check out 2k... like ive said before i dont wanna choose. i wanna play every football game that comes out at some point or another.
6. updates... more than rosters and bug fixes... maybe playbooks could be updated to reflect current trends and gameplay could be improved throughout the life of the game...
7. for ranked games, i wonder why guys need to control pat defenses at all or punt blocks at all... just let a guy control the punt returner and nothing else... and just say goodbye to 1 more glitch forever
8. its a small issue but no need to be so stingy on the CAP abilities either... let guys use 5 for gold... 4 for silver and 3 for bronze... just for the sake of customization
another possible way would be to set a certain amount for each team... or make a guy choose a theme for each team for example...
a "smashmouth" team can have 20-30 abilities for the linemen and backs but only 7 for the whole recieving corps...
a defense team can have 50 total abilities for defense but 25 for offense...
stuff like that and so on...
i can already sit for hours customizing stuff but in the end it somehow feels like a have a relatively small amount of control...

I do realize that alot of the players who play this game are probably American, but as far as I know there are no games who have copyrighted using the CFL(Canadian Football League) and no I'm not saying center the game around CFL but just incorporate the teams into the games, maybe even rules. I'm sure this would also give you alot more sales in Canada..
Also make more customization ability with the uniforms, something like Forza Motorsport, then players can actually make their team

1. Multi-team season/franchise, like in 2K5 so you and your friends can see who could build a better team.
2. Some players played more than one position, Sammy Baugh was a QB, DB, and P. Maybe, some kind of system where you pick which position you are drafting them for, and depending on the position, they would have different abilities.
Johnny_Mangera

ALOT of posts on here are darn right idiotic.
Shure Sammy played other positions, but he was BEST at QB period, which makes hella sense.
Why use him at any other position other than Qb when he would not be even equivalent to a bronze wr catching a pass, so scratch that.
Also to that one dude you can create a gold player with 5 abilities, you just have to unlock all of the acheivements which is an excellent idea.
Think about it, this adds replay value to the game. Trying to get all of the goals and then finally being able to create that star with 5 attributes mean alot.
So the system with that regards is perfect, the problem is you kids want everything without earning it.
--------------------------------
The only thing I want is signature stlye ala Nba2k8.
Walter Payton/lester Hayes are perfect examples.
More Legends , better graphics, more animations, signature stlye, and for once I would love to see a damn helmet get popped off of someone

Sammy Baugh was just an example. What about Rod Woodson who played safety at the end of his career, maybe you would want him as a safety instead of cornerback? I'm not saying Sammy should have 5 DB abilities, just to have that as an option. What if they put Kordell Stewart in the game, he was known as "Slash" because he played QB/RB/WR/P. I was just suggesting something for players like that, so you could choose which position you would use him at.

here is what i would like to see for apf2k8
total 32 team customization were you can create all 53 man rosters for all 32 teams and use in a franchise to replace the cpu created teams.
2.multiple ref crews that have there own play penalty styles
and that is so true certain ref crews blow alot of a certain kind of penalty itsa a fact
and more penalty types.
3. more detailed player face creator.
4.qb fumble snaps and over the head on the ground center snaps muffed punts and fgs
5.snow build up and fog
6 coaching legends
7.the chain gang
8.the ability to choose what type of cleats you want to put on your players that effect grip
and speed.
9. qbs who can only throw as far or as fast as there arm really is.
10. stamina that effect abilitys from a week to week basis so dont over use your players
and if there hurt they really get tired or fumble.
i would say why not tell ea sports you let them make a mlb game if they allow you to do the same for football or make a deal to pay them 15 dollars for every copy you sell since you started out it being 59 bucks you still make more than it going for 10 bucks at whatever place it was at that price for.
i for one dont see why you cant make it so if people have nfl2k5 they can somehow get it updated with the current game engine you own that yrs rights so use that yrs rosters and team names there nothing they could do about it if all fails.

ALL PRO FOOTBALL 2k9 WISH LIST
1. How about more attributes for created players.
2. Graphics need a giant leap forward.
3. Choose at least 16 players when creating a team.
4. Make guys who can catch when we select possession WR for fake players.
5. I love the side camera. Please make it more adjustable as in:Example farther away. and more tilt so the camera isn't so high.
6. DUDE!!! Where is the sweat, mud, real life grass/turf blow in the wind
7. Better pre-game like MLB 2k7, better half-time show with real commentator video footage ie: Chris Burman
8. Where is the 4 wheel cart when someone gets injured on a play. Someone needs to drive onto the field and off with the player
9. Who really cares about cheerleaders. Don't need them. Put something more valuable in the game.
10. How about some real NFL coaches of old or recently retired..
11. 16 game season with play for the ANYTHING BOWL. Add Post season Videos from our games for the whole season. (NFL 2k5).
12. WR's should get knocked down by defenders on every play especially Jerry Rice, when u have someone totally beat on a deep route because their not ready for the pass.
13. 32 Teams
14. 500 or more fake players to choose from. The computer should not pick our team.
15. Give the fake players a boost if they scored a touchdown or run for 50 yards. In other words the more we use them the better they get.
16. The fake players should keep their attribute boost add to it in different categorys.
17. Let us see how well the fake players are doing when they gain an attribute and also what attribute(s) is or are boosted.
18. Helmets or shoes need to come off on big hits.
19. Rain hitting the helmets is nice, but add running off the helmet, jersey and skin.
20. Mud on the visors also.
Thanks! Finally got that off my chest. I have many more though.

O.k. guys & girls, I'll get this started.
I agree with everything you said. Escpecially the UFL league. I hate when I am running the ball and my guy dives in open field with no one around him and I am 10 yards from scoring a touchdown.
Also the forced fumbles trophy is way to hard to get.

Okay I've being slightly swayed against my bring back of the rating system...but something along with abilities would be nice...other thinks I just thought of or mentioned in the NFL2K11 or whatever thread...
- Pile up fumble recoveries with a tap button action maybe to keep possession under the pile.
- Simultaneous catches were a receiver and defender catch the ball at the same time and you have to fight for it by tapping a button.
- Being able to control possession of a catch being in bounds and planting your feet with a timed tap of a button also (still auto-controlled if needed).
- No duplicate uniform numbers on the same team.
- Edit stadiums (especially endzones, so we can place team names and logos in them).
- Ability to break Legends/League records.
- New simpler CAP creator. Instead of morphing CAP faces just give us a few choices of eyes, mouths, hair color and style (dreads, long straight or curl hair that sticks out the helmets, etc.). I'm not sure if too many people wanna tweak with cheek bone structure on players that'll have there faces under a helmet anyway too much.
- Create-a-Celebration...hey, an old wrestling game could do it so can this. Have a bunch of arm motions, leg motion, etc. and have us make or own celebration with the stock animations from different limb movement.
- Alternative uniforms. Being able to create 1 or 2 alternative uni's for home and away.

first off theres the usual, better graphics, more players, more offline modes etc
1. the POSSIBILITY of breaking gang tackles. like 1% chance similar to the possibility of slipping and falling during a cutback.. doenst happen very often AT ALL but just knowing its possible should be in the game.
2. online halftime/postgame show using full motion replays instead of still frames.
3. more abilities and less restricted abilities when picking caps.
4. better sideline catches. the sideline catches in the game basically have the player's feet planted inbounds as he catches the ball. he should catch the ball in the air and then plant his feet (or drag both toes) as he falls out.
5. completely retooled blocking AI
6. much improved defensive AI (hard hitting safetys like tatum and lott should be much more adept at slamming receivers running post routes and such) and especially CB man coverage AI
7. better linebacker AI
8. combination of ratings and abilities
9. player jerseys getting pulled so the shoulderpads show through (then having a teammate tuck the shoulderpads back in
10. multiple jersey styles. older players like randall cunningham should have loose hanging sleeves while the just retired players should have tucked in sleeves
11. more fumbles, more injuries (but not overdone like madden)
12. ball strip should actually strip balls
13. make the momentum system MUCH MORE SEVERE for defenders against the run. cutting back should make defenders have to stop and cutback as well, but the cpu just makes them turn on a dinner plate which makes it ineffective to cutback. this would make reverse's as deadly as they should be, and make finesse backs much more favored then power backs since the greatest may actually be able to stop and reverse to the other sideline
14. better tackling animations. when players get slammed over the middle their whole body has to get into it. their legs should fly forward and their head bends down as they get their chest caved back.... but thats probably just a problem of canned animations
thats all i got for now im sure i missed some big ones

5. I like fake players. Let us pick them not the computer. Make them better as they get more playing time in each game, not just in a single game. They should get better and we should be able to see their stats and which attributes have improved.
6. Those six-axis dive plays when you are about to get a touchdown need to go.
7. Over all This Game tops Madden 08,07,06, and so on in gameplay.
8. Please Bring in Euphoria Motion in this game. If you do. EA sports has no chance at beating 2ksports with Euphoria Motion and better graphics.

1. A new throwing mechanic-everybody lately have loved using the right analog stick including 2k in different aspects of the game...maybe you can throw the ball with the right analog stick, similar to MLB 2k8's throwing mechanic only more complex (push the analog stick toward the area of your attended reciever, then a meter will pop up and it goes from green to red...the farther your reciever is the farther a bar will be in the meter indicating your reciever...there can be multiple "bar lines" indicating more than one reciever...the better your quarterback the slower it will take to fill up your meter till it reaches the very end...you can spped it up by hitting the 'x' button repeatedly)
2. Running Back Vision-again using the right analog stick while running with the left a vision cone appears on the field...the better your running back vision the larger the cone is, thus the ability to see more holes, running lanes, and all the defenders in the cone it will be easier to "shake and bake" away from them
3. Special Moves- let it be so that if you hit i\RT you gain new moves on the face buttons like the first 4 moves are like juke left, juke right, spin, stiff arm....hitting RT you gain new abilities that are "special" or "SIGNATURE" for your player...

You know, the graphics in Madden '06 and '07 aren't that far off from that video. Madden '08 is WAAAAY far off from it however. APF 2K8 looks pretty close to the video when players are seen closeup. I'd even argue that the jersey detail in APF is greater than what that video shows.

Here is what I want to see...
1. Get rid of the kicking system. Let's not try to reinvent the wheel on things that don't need it.
2. I want to be able to switch helmet logos without changing the entire team uniform package.
3. Have "Dan Stevens" record city names. Then give us an option in team creation where we can either select to have our city name announced or our team name.
4. Fix the grass. When I got NCAA '08 and looked at the grass, I thought "Well, NCAA's grass is bad. APF's will definitely be better." Unfortunately, APF's is worse. Much worse.
5. Menu screens need more pizzazz... it's all about continuity. The menu screens just don't 'pop' in HD. They need work.
6. Reduce the number of words spoken in player dialogue. The acting is just not good. Shorter sentences are key. And you need to filter in noise to the people recording so they at least SOUND like they are in a stadium yelling this stuff.
7. Team names.... Wasps, Red Dogs, Minutemen, Werewolves, Federals... none of these should return as defaults. And their uniforms? Incinerate them!
8. More weather effects... like flurries when the sun is still shining in the afternoon. Flurries that don't stick to the ground. A Fog slider control.
9. Goal line pileups during the goal line dive... no football video game has done this right yet. In fact, they haven't done it all. Players pile up in the trenches during goal line dives, this should be in these games by now.
10. Dan and Peter need to sound more serious... people have been saying it for years, and 2K is not listening. I'm not saying Dan and Peter aren't good, they are just too damn bubbly. Part of their training should be to listen to actual football broadcasts and draw the air of seriousness from those.
11. Custom soundtracks need to return
12. First Person football needs to return
13. More equipment options
14. Lighting... for goodness sake, the lighting in 2K8 is horrid. Definitely not "next gen" (I hate that dumb buzz word by the way, lol).
15. All players should be editable
16. Build a story for the league. There is no excuse for not having one. Make the league believable.
17. Playing my created teams vs. my other created teams... I should be able to do this, and it should come standard. I shouldn't have to buy a second controller just to do this.
18. Just use your common sense in building this game. No more silly stuff. No more over-the-top unnecessary stuff. Just serious, tough... football. That's what we expected, and that's what we want.

Well, the fact that 2K5's looks better and that was a system generation ago kinda makes it inexcusable. It also lacks depth and looks more washed out than vibrant.
th eonly thing that needs to be changed is that the sun goes down during the game.
That's another problem. The lighting is not progressive. Madden '08 has the same problem, and it's funny because '07 had progressive lighting. It's really just a matter of effort. I think companies don't put this things in because they believe we don't care.
Graphics aren't everything, but I feel like this... if the "video" in "video game" weren't important, we'd all be playing board games or sticking with older generation systems, including the people who say graphics aren't important.

...that I think is very doable and everyone would like: include legendary coaches along with a customizable template playbook. For example, you could chose Bum Phillips as your coach and your default defense would be a 3-4; you could chose Marv Levy and your default offense would be a Run and Gun and so on. A list of potential coaches:
*Bill Walsh
*Vince Lombardi
***** Vermeil
*Bum Phillips
*Buddy Ryan
*Mike Ditka
*Bill Cowher
*Chuck Noll
*Marv Levy
*Jimmy Johnson
*Tom Landry
*Jim Mora
*Dan Reeves
*Joe Gibbs
*Marty Schottenheimer
*Bill Parcells
*Weeb Ewbank
*Earl Neale
*George Halas
....and another twist: you couldn't have the same person as a coach and player on the same roster; you couldn't have Ditka coaching a younger Ditka.
I don't see a need to rate coaches by the star system, nor do I think you should have to select a coach. But it could be an interesting twist as to how you build your roster.

Hell no.
This is one of the worst features in Madden.
Players should be allowed to make their own decisions at all times in the game about whether or not they want to go for it on 4th down/do an onside kick/go for the 2 point conversion.

I think i know what 2k9 needs to set their games off. Thats add your own face and your own voice. Record your own trash talkin. For example let us add 3 quotes about 5 secs long and add that to your player. Also post your picture on the game so you can put yourself in football. Everyone always wants themselves n games so i think they should do this. Another idea is have 2k post celebrations on xbox live or the PS3 platform and let us download them to the hard drive. For example go all the way back to the most entertaining TD celebrations from past to present make em post em online and let us download as many as we want. Throw in some funny ones as well. Let us even have a create a celebration scene feature as well. Like firework noise your own music and TD celebration actions not with just one player but multiple players involved with the TD celebration as well. GET BEYOND CREATIVE 2K. Set off the sports world. Make football fans wanna stand outside for 2 days to buy your games.

All I want is more customization..If you think about it right now..We have so much right now..If we have more then who knows how great this game will be..Also if we get more legends then this will be the best on the market..By the way who found this thread.this thing is ancient..

-better AI. when i run the field my blockers won't bl*** anyone behind them
-more legends (michael irvin, joe namath etc,)
-a multi-season franchise with a all-pro all star game
-better animations
-harder hits!!!!
-able to play your own team with the cpu playing
-superstar mode type thing and play as one of your favourite player
-lead blocking
-created playbooks

1.If 2k is going to keep the generic players atleast make it gauranteed for them to catch it when their wide open. Get's old when they drop them when no ones covering them.
2.Better Graphics
3.Better create a player system
4.Be able to enter your own team names and have a deep database for they can recognize them like with the CAP system but 10x better
Amen & put a pic of the player up when showing them during a game/MVP.

I like 2k8 and I really liked 2k5. I want to see 2k football back on top so i'm doing what i can to help. this is a lot of reading
CUSTOMIZATION
-alternate uniforms for created teams and cpu teams
-real playbook editor where you can create plays, routes, blocking assignments etc..
-creat-a-logo. ex: use a generic logo but maybe put a shape behind it. Or use a combo of leters. Or put a design on helmet like the bengals
-wristbands, rubber bands, or tape wherever you want. some people like them up high around the elbow
-specify what a CAP will wear in hot and cold weather and/or when playing home and away
-more accessories like hand warmers, QB sheet w/ plays, QB's towel, colored visors etc..
-when creating players w/ team colored accessories allow option for color 1 or color 2 etc.
-custom running styles etc.. for CAPs not just Legends. player specific taunts and celebrations activated by D-pad or R thumbstick (when defender is 20+ yrds away) or something(explained more in my new control scheme coming soon inshallah)
-stadiums. even if we can just change the color of the pre-created stadiums, just give us something. Team name in the endzone? yes or no
-custom highlight reel. have a button in the replay that selects a play for halftime or end game highlights in addition to what the cpu selects
-custom cleets/sneakers like in nba 2k5 and nba street v3
-custom soundtrack like in espn 2k5 where you can hear what you want after a tuchdown etc.. and add a feature where we can get our own sounds on there somehow
-edit non-stars names etc.. and their specialty like Run block- balanced- pass block and select them instead of random select. GAMERS HATE RANDOMNESS
-we should be able to edit legends at least when playing offline
-CAPs should have different type of gear(accessorie) based on type: old school or new school
-download new teams/stadiums/rosters/playbooks/records/coaching profiles/sneakers/logos from 2ksports and other users
GAMEPLAY
-line shift on defense
-pump quiet crowd
-ball strip button
-let us play w/ cpu teams in quick games and practice. WHY NOT?!?
-blocking assignments like the defensive matchups
-user controlled chalenges.( 1st time in history!!!) user does replay and has to press a bottun when they think whistle should be blown or when they think that foot comes down etc.. depending on situation. it can be done is all i'm saying
-defenders should be less responsive when user presses a certain direction. My CAP Devin Hester can't break ankles if defenders turn just as fast as i tap right and left
-use right thumbstick to control feet when cathing on sideline or reaching for tuchdown
-an animation when running down the sideline trying to stay in bounds
-PLAYMAKER CONTROL from old Madden Games (can i say that word here?)[explained in control scheme, coming soon]
-Vick-ability for QBs. my CAP Vick (let the dog thing go for now, 60% of ppl in this country are murderers or would be if they had the power anyway) cant out-run a lineman no-matter how many abilities i give him. I did a test. I made him a reciever with speedburner and subbed him to QB and he still ran slower just because he was at the QB position. how can i "vick it" if i cant run fast. do we need a "lightning fast" or "burn cream" ability? the linemen in this game are un-vickable. Hester too. speed kills, but put it in the game anyway
-a.i. should know when they have to go for 1st down when running routes near 1st down marker
-late hit should take down players fatigue. should have some purpose for being done intentionally
-true hurry up offence- tap "A" faster = get to line faster. maybe sacrifice fatigue a little
-helmets flying off occasionally
-flipping takles, especially when recivers jump 10 ft and a defender runs behind them
-when players touch, their body parts move. that's hot. if both legs leave the ground they should fall
-more "tap A" situations. blocks, fight for ball recieving, QB evading, takles
-the turbo button doesn't work. fix it. tapping A doesn't make me run faster sometimes
-momentum bar for each player nxt2 or under stamina bar. goes up/down a small % when team does good/bad. increases 2x for individual using specialty, ex: deep threat reciever catching deep ball
*when filled, player is more likely to make play (may be multiple players)
*non-stars have 1 ability each that is only used when momentum bar is filled
*When leadership players have full momentum the whole team gets it OR just their group (LBs or OL etc...)PRESENTATION
-commentators who know what's going on
*follow whats happening. a player with 5 sacks should be in the highlight reel
*"Wow an interseption AND a fumble in 1 play!!!"
*"Unbelievable, they returned an onside kick"
*sometimes the guys are silent and sometimes they say the wrong thing.
*"bla bla bla...[interuption] O!M!G! he's still on his feet after that hit..."
*at least 1 full game without repeats
-a game intro like back in the good ol' days
-weekly rap up and highlight of the week like espn 2k5
-feature the best player of the last game or of the season/franchise in the begining of the match instead of just the gold stars
-if a player single-handedly makes the game winning play, or momentum changing play and already has reasonable stats for the day HE IS THE PLAYER OF THE GAME
-the "long lasting drive of the game" is realy the "longEST drive of the game". kinda annoying. also, maybe there could be a faded snapshot or highlight of each play in the backround.
-more sideline stuff
*knock water or table over. hit coaches. coaches get upset after play
*"when we get the lead, let's get back out there and crack some heads" makes no sense
*2k5 had players on training bikes, breathing thingies, working with trainers ect...
*knocking down the ref is cool. if he cant see a penalty he shouldnt call it
-maybe a momentum and/or crown noise or playmaker bar/meter
*toggle on/off option. WITH MOST THINGS GAMERS WANT THE OPTION OF TURNING ON/OFF
-more involved replays. show big hits three times or something. show yellow chalk lines and circles.
-PLAYMAKERS was a show on ESPN. why not use that league and have some backround. use those logos.
*use names of fictional characters like Willy Beamin or Shane Falco or Bobby Buchae for non-star or maybe give 'em stars
*for players who won't sign or cant be put on the game, make a no-name star player with there abilities and history and allow users to edit his name. WHY NOT?!?
-if there's going to be some type of personalized user screen or something allow user to select whether he's an ol' school or new school type
-the orange pylons should fall when hit and should be used for endzone dances.
-player 1 is dark blue. player 2 is light blue. THIS IS STUPID. people get confused. use 2 completely different colors
-more cinematics during game
*show lineup or player stats/ highlights while picking play
*show drive summary after tuchdown
GAME MODES
-franchise (obviously) nuf sed
-offline tournament mode
-street mode WHY NOT??? since EA scrapped their street project for that questionable NFL TOUR
*just simple street games
AND/OR
*player starst on street and gathers team and makes it to a league
-mini games
*jump ball & other games from NFL STREET 2 was fun
*training camp games for practice and franchise rookies
*challenges and unlockables through mini games
-player select for special move practice and select # of players. 2 on 2 etc...
*select a.i. pass ball, run, chase, block, dive, jump, stand, race etc...
*special move practise is a good idea but after a few years it's time to upgrade. WHY NOT???
-situation. create a situation or choose from a few classics.
-2 min drill
-practice runing plays properly
-practice using abilities properly. a demo w/ each icon would be nice
LEGENDS
-Dion Sanders
-Lawrence Taylor
-Michael Irvin
-Jerome Bettis
-Brett Farve
-Terrell Davis
-Bo Jackson
-Jim Kelly
-Derrelle Green
-Mike Vick???
-Joe Namath
-Eric Dickerson
Highschool and/or little league teames would probably pay 2ksports to put them on the game in some way. The game needs some substance. Madden 09 might actually be good so 2k9 must be spectacular like 2k5 in it's time.

1. Instead of UFL why not use an established company in the CFL.
2. How about starting from 2k5 and building it up from there.
3. In Franchise mode how about letting me hire and fire my head coach and coordinators.
4. specify what a CAP will wear in hot and cold weather and/or when playing home and away
-more accessories like hand warmers, QB sheet w/ plays, QB's towel, colored visors etc..
-when creating players w/ team colored accessories allow option for color 1 or color 2 etc.
(idea from 2k9 wishlist)
5. Bring back custom soundtrack and stadium music
6. Superstar mode rivaled to madden with and make so that you can walk around the crib and also be able to buy this as you make your way up in the league.
7. Also pumping up the crowd and quieting them down
8. Mini games like madden's training camp that you can play in franchise mode to build your player's overalls and also online and offline.
9. Add a hard hitting system like hit stick just not so over the top all time
10. More responsive commentators
11. Say the created teams city and name
12. Get a CBS or Fox presentation with the pregrame show, halftime show, and postgame
13. Weekly wrap up
14. Players and coaches sideline reactions should be responsive to what is going on the field
15. Knock over the pylons
16. Show player matchups
17. For Franchise and Mini Game Mode put 7-on-7 and Oklahoma Drill

1. Spectator mode! Beat EA to this. If anybody can get this to work in a football game, it's VC.
2. FULLY customizable logos/uniforms. Have a website with a logo/paint editor where we can upload our designs to the game.
3. Everything else 2k9wishlist added on the previous page. Good job!
4. Custom soundtracks. Why did you get rid of them??

I really like the Spectator Mode idea. It would be nice to be able to watch two of your friends playing a game. Also, if you have a headset, it'd be nice to talk to other people in Spectator Mode with you, sorta like watching a football game with some friends at home. This would be really nice for league and tournaments and stuff.

I'm one of the few people who actually care about these things:
- more equipment options. i.e. those small arm bands guys like Ricky Williams wear, revolution face masks, black shoe tape, option for no leg pads, sleeves tucked in or hanging out-- a lot of QBs keep them hanging out while most players tuck 'em in.
- More city options
- a few more abilities (like red zone target or quick off the snap for DEs)
2k9wishlist
July 5th, 2008, 09:10 PM
NEW ABILITIES
-Magic Feet for RBs
*when making moves on sideline runners are aware of the line
-Fight For Yards
*R analog stick stretches ball or pushes forward or out of bounds in corresponding direction while going down
*if this action is made available for all players this ability makes it automatic
-First Man Miss
*high chance of first takler missing
-Sticky Fingers
*specialize in one handed cathes or catching difficult unlikely cathes
-Slippery
*tacklers are likely to slip off of RB especially one handed reaches
*when a takler is juked and falls he wont morph into a takle
*instead of slipping away being a random ability mostly used by cpu
*so quick RBs can slip between 2 defenders like in real life
-Ball Hog
*Player plays better the more he gets the ball and even better after a good play
*not just RBs
-Trickery
*good @ trick plays
*for defense good @ reading trick plays
-CAP ABILITIES ARE NOT LIKE CPU ABILITIES. THEY SHOULD BE
-Quick Jump
*Defender has quick jump off the line after snap and good timing on hits
-Nose For Endzone
*Player is skilled at redzone scoring
*has a momentum boost in redzone scoring opportunities
-Mr. Highlight
*2x faster charge for big moves
*w/ full momentum just tap A to charge
-Acrobatic Catches
*reciever jumps EVERY TIME the ball is up high
-2nd Chance
*player is skilled at cathing ball after being tipped. can also reach for ball while being hit
-Master Of Disaster
*player can cause injuries on big charged hits
-BiG Hit
*makes charged hits that are not seen otherwise
-Crown Pleaser
*player gains momentum when crowd screams
*taunt/celebration button after big play. exclusive taunts. builds teams momentum a bit
-Heart
*player is faster when chasing down ball carrier after breaking away
*players momentum maxes when opposing players momentum maxes
*player is faster when chasing ball carrier after breaking away
-Evil Stare
*when players momentum is up 1 of the opposing player's abilities doesn't work

One of the things I have been dying to see on your games is online co-op play! I have several brothers who live out of state. Whenever we get together, we try to play a 2K sports game (whichever one is in season) together playing on the same team. We can only do that when we all get together in person, though. I'd love to be able to do that online, but your online play only allows you to play against each other and we do not like that.
If four of us get online (from separate systems), I'd love to jump on the 2K Sports servers and be able to decide which team we want to play on... whether that is 2-on-2, 3-on-1, or four of us taking on the computer.
Are there any plans for this? Why limit online play to where you can only play against one another?

If a player gets hurt in a regular game(not season) then you literally can't use that player for however long the recovery time was.

I've always like this idea. Never understood why it wasn't put in effect in any game. For football it could go like this, if a guy gets injured and is out for 10 weeks then you can't use that player for 10 games. The team that you were using him has to eat that missing legend, you can't replace him for a healthy guy until he gets healthy.

Injuries are unrealistic. Every time a player gets hurt in a league game it's something serious. At least 8 weeks, usually more. Most injuries in football are just little one, two week deals like a sprained ankle or turf toe but in this game it's always a fractured arm, knee or neck.
Big M

Pfft... I'm just mad about there not being any popped eyeballs.
And I disagree with you. I've had injuries where the player was back five minutes later in the game. I think there does need to be a wider range of injuries, to add more that are shorter times, but I don't think they're unrealistic. (of course, I've only had two, and one was a broken back. IDK what happened to Sharper though)

Yeah i thought the game was hot but: u should be able to customize everything(legends/non legends ect)when u create a player and hes gold, u only can pick 3 abilities there should me infinite, the gameplay is great but if the grafics were as good as madden's or better this game would be perfect APF 2K9 ALL DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The substitution system could be worked on.
Weather online would be nice, especially in league matches.
On the fly focus for particular calls.
A way to incorporate those O lineman picks and make them worthy. Maybe select as a unit or pair?
Give me a punt return safe so I can avoid that punt block!
Fumble/Ball strip increases.
Video Highlights at the end of the game and player of the game browsable even when the opponent leaves.
Better LB blitzing angles.
Better finishing hits on the QB.. stop that strafe in front of him.
Kill bunny hoppers.. make those punks fumble! :)
Add false starts in more often when cadence is used.
that's a start....

I know you said no football this year but im sick of madden I know you have to get permission from the big wigs but I have some ideas for ALL PRO FOOTBALL. Just a few ideas you could add a franchies and draft but with the draft you only add one bronze player to your team a year. During the year your star players(meaning gold, silver, bronze)must meet requirments to keep their status up or lose them if they dont play well( ex Running Back has break away speed but avg. yards a carry low or yards after catch low he lose it or a sack master dont get over 6 sacks a year or a ball hawk dont get 7 ints a year) Let players grow or decline as years go on. When you first start your franchies all players start at age 25. Also let us have the opption of starting our created teams with our choice of how many types of stars we have meaning 1gold star is equal to 1silver 1bronze or 3bronze in all pro we had 2gold 3silver 6 bronze let us be able to trade down our 1gold for 1silver 1bronze or 3 bronze or trade up 3 bronze for 1gold star player. Think of the combinations the types or teams the chess game of it. I love the gameplay the presitation during the season at the end of the week bring back the weeky replay that madden stole from you. Madden copy you but did a poor job of it. They still use sorry animations. I saw something somebody wrote that was good you could use FOX SPORTS OR NBC just a few ideas for now but i do have alot more if you interested. Thanks FOREVER A FAN

At this point I have just one single wish for 2K Football.
Sell the game engine to someone who cares about football and will actually make a good game with it.
It's tragic that this game engine still completely destroys Madden in every way and 2K refuses to do anything but sit on it.
Really why give these ideals to 2K? so the EA can come over to this board and get all these great ideals? because that is the only people reading them and taking them into account.
May as well just sign up at EA and tell them your ideals straight up so they don't have to waste their time browsing this forum for ideals.
I have reached the point where I now hate 2K , If only someone on planet earth could make a football game that I could replace 2K8 with I would permanently wash my hands of them.
Bunch of backstabbing gutless souless crybabies that refuse to make games that they can't simply roster update , **** 2K
