Is that right?
I see the demo on Live Marketplace. I was ready to download PES football but I think it may be a soccer game. If it is then I wouldn't want to waste my time downloading it.
Anyway, is it cool? Anyone familiar w/ PES games?

To bad 08 is kinda crappy. I prefer Fifa 08 over PES this year. I only played the PES PC game though. I downlaoded the demo, wasnt impressed either.

PES is awesome this year. Fifa 08 has gotten better, but the gameplay in PES still owns. I had to import it because the US version won't be out until april :(
But, I love it...:)

PES = Pro Evo Soccer
Right?

I love how PES dribbles the ball; the ball doesn't stick to players like invisible glue. It takes work to dribble the ball right.

PES = Pro Evo Soccer
Right?
Correct, that is the European name of the game. It was known as Winning Eleven World Soccer in America. Though they have recently changed it so the name is the same in all territories (except Japan, it is still Pro Evolution Soccer). The new name is World Soccer Winning Eleven Pro Evolution...or something like that...

fifa 08 is the better game this year guys.

I agree that both games are great but Fifa is not the better game this year. It has made great improvements offer past years' offerings, but it still lacks that polish in the gameplay that PES has. In terms of presentation, Fifa cannot be beat. So many leagues and teams are in that game. But, I'd rather have great gameplay with fake characters than play as Ronaldinho trying to run down field but having issues doing so because the controls are precise enough...
Either way, you can't go wrong...

too many "issues" with PES this year, from slowdowns to unplayable online. seabass himself has said the game is quite where they wanted it.
as for gameplay, i disagree with you. fifa 08 has slowed theirs down while PES has sped up theres. the controls in fifa08 are beutiffily done this time. hell,,,you can do KEEPUPS with the ball if you want.
both games got a bug or two. both are great, but i go with fifa this time.
*cant believe we got 2 pages on this forum for these games*

Meh, i tend to disagree with you Lion.
Fifa's controls this year are mimicking what EA is trying to do with every one of their sports games this year: shoehorn analog controls in there. This game does not need the silly "trick stick". It isn't responsive enough, and only a certain few players are actually worth using it with (henry, ronaldo, etc.) while the rest are just horrible at it.
Yes, the pace of the game has slowed a bit, but that doesn't mean the gameplay is any better. The AI still makes silly, off timed runs for open space. The defense still acts retarded at times. And the goalies are horrible...seriously the keepers have no sense of positioning..
I like what EA has done, but it still needs work. PES has somewhat fallen, but not far enough to be beaten by Fifa.
That's just my opinion though :)

I have to disagree with some the AI has gotten alot better as of the cpu it's more realistic challenging that game is better then Pro Ev this year with these new game features and stuff and the trick stick too it's 8/10 ev get's 7/10 btw (Kaka, Ronaldinho Ronaldo and a bunch others can do the trick stick stuff
