Is big hit the only way to force a fumble

You have to charge then apply the big hit. All the fumbles I have caused happen when I charge my player then use the big hit. Clicking the RS works best to force a fumble. But you will still see fumbles by flicking the RS up down left right. Timing is very important also.

I've fumbled the ball once in about the last 20 games I've played. Lately I've been forcing a fumble every other game. Because I focus on charging & timing my big hits.

I try to stand guys up with my first defender and then power up the second defender for the big hit. Most of the times **** Butkus just forces them on his own without me doing anything. I think cerain players force fumbles more than others. Derrick Thomas has the same ability but I never had so many fumbles for me as with Butkus.

It seems fumbles are more dependent upon the returner than the defender. A lot of quick cuts to the right, left, right and so forth will increase the likelihood of a fumble.

Good point. Juking a little too much will get the ball knocked out.

I don't do many special moves. So I rarely fumble. also if you hit a guy at certain angles-such as on side or back-especially while he's trying sum fancy move.
