View Full Version : "DISCONNECT GLITCH"

Recently I've had opponents request a quit, then pull the plug at some point causing an end to the game with no record of the game. What is worse is I've had one opponent do this and it gave me a loss when I replied "no" to the quit request. Three times in the last week I've had games suddenly and without notice disconnect with no change to my record or my opponents.
Quit Scenario:
Although I've never tried it I think the quit cheat is when your opponent requests a quit and you reply "no" to the quit request, then your opponent will press "yes" and quickly disconnect the network cable at the same time while the system is in limbo trying to register the quit.
"Disconnect Glitch"
The abrupt ending to the game without any warning is more than likely done by a cheat code.
ESPN "VIDEOGAMERS" deserve better bug free programming or a partial refund as the product refund can be disputed with the credit card purchaser as the product is "not as expected".

Thank you for teaching all the would-be cheaters out there how it's done.

I thought I read dumbest post today, but this one gives it a run for it's money. Are you aware of the number of bugs that are "acceptable" when writing code? It is a lot more then you may think. I mean, if software vendors were obligated to refund $$$ for bugs, we'd still be in the 80's for crying out loud.

if for any reason refunds should have been issued then it should be for the shotty servers this year. When the game came out online play couldnt even occur... its MUCH better now but still poor imo.

Somatik replies that I'm teaching new tricks and that is not the case. Anyone logging onto message boards has access to other sites as well.
Ambrosio says that the post is dumb siting the least important portion of my post (videogamer refund).
GreyhoundSteve adds a legitimate comment to the board regarding problem areas with online gaming.
For the record, I don't expect a refund. I am however very concerned by the rash of illegal quits and disconnects that simply make the whole nature of online gaming pointless. The reason why we venture online as opposed to playing the computer is to challenge ourselves and compete with others. These type of bugs will undoubtedly have an impact on the Visual Concepts/Sega bottom line on future sales and releases.

Just commenting on the obserdity of refunds because someone quit on you and you didn't get a win.
My advice to you is to...
1. Join a league, most league members play each other outside of league play
2. Develop a friend's list, most forum members are usually pretty straight up with each other
3. You can look at stats and check out "go for on 4th" and such, drops and quits don't neccessarily (sp) dictate what kind of player someone is.
4. Being a couple weeks out of 2k5, just wait for the next game
btw I hope at 19.99 for 2k5, you'll accept that as your "refund"

Thank you for the league recommendation. I think that very well may be the place to avoid cheaters. I'll be getting 2k5 and hope that it fixes the numerous cheats that we've all come to know so well.
I play on xbox under the handle "skikayaker" and I'm always looking for a pro level sim game that's clean and free from tricks, glitches, cheats, and stallers who watch the replay of all of their good plays :-)
PS: Has anyone else experienced the main reason for this thread: The disconnect and quit glitches described in this thread?

Feel free to add me to your friend's list, and I give you a straight game anytime you see me online 8)

I recently played Zepelin77 twice and both times they replaced their kicker with their punter when kicking the PAT and then they would do something that would cause my screen to go black except for the red arrow with the number of the player I was controlling. The result was two drops for me, two wins for them, and wasted time.
I hope SEGA/Visual Concepts fixes this glitch.

This is a problem....and frustrating....I can't get a win, because the last three games I was about to win, the other player quits, I refuse, and then the disconnect thingy occurs....The worst thing about this is I can't login anymore....It can't retrieve my user records anymore...
I've gone through three separate accounts now, I mean this is alot of BS.....what a bunch of sore losers there are out there. I lost the first ten games I played, but I didn't quit....
OK, I know, now I'm sounding like a baby, but it is annoying as hell!
