The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the most beloved NFL franchises. They were continuously successful, but failed to reach the Super Bowl 3 straight times until finally making it in 2005 and losing to the New England Patriots. The 2006/2007 season seemed over when star quarterback Donovan McNabb went down with a torn ACL, but veteran QB Jeff Garcia led the team to many victories and a playoff berth. This year the Eagles look to make the playoffs once again, but now with Super Bowl goals. Key losses to the team include veteran linebacker Jeremiah Trotter and quarterback Jeff Garcia. The team's key additions include underrated wide receiver Kevin Curtis, rookie quarterback Kevin Kolb, outside linebacker Takeo Spikes, and rookie running back Tony Hunt. Eagles fans are becoming restless. It's time to bring the Lombardi Trophy home.

This is a matchup of two NFC teams, and two aging quarterbacks. Donovan McNabb will have a lot to worry about with the Green Bay linebackers Nick Barnett, A.J. Hawk, and Brady Popp.inga while Favre will have to worry about Philadelphia's talented secondary including Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard, and Brian Dawkins.

Sheldon Brown picks off Favre's throw.
Green Bay's linebackers are possibly the best trio in the league, and they made sure that the elusive running back Brian Westbrook had no room to run. Westbrook left the game in the third quarter and didn't return due to injury, but the Eagles might have been better off without him. After a Montae Reagor sack, quarterback Brett Favre went down and Green Bay let young quarterback Aaron Rodgers take the snap for the shaken up Favre. Sheldon Brown intercepted Rodger's only pass, which led to a McNabb touchdown pass to Jason Avant, sending the game into overtime. Both teams punted twice during the overtime period, and neither team could score, making it a tie. Brett Favre, Greg Jenning, and rookie halfback Brandon Jackson all had solid offensive performances for the Packers while Sean Considine, Brian Dawkins, and Sheldon Brown turned in great play for the Eagles defense.

Two NFC East rivals matchup in this one. Last year's division winners, the Philadelphia Eagles, face off against the Washington Redskins, who finished last in the NFC East. Donovan McNabb will have to watch out for free safety Sean Taylor while Brian Westbrook will need to stay clear of London Fletcher-Baker. On the other side, Jason Campbell will have to look out for the Eagles' talented secondary and Redskins' running backs Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts will have a tough time getting through Takeo Spikes and Omar Gaither.

Trade McNabb to the 49ers. My friend said that the 49ers should trade up Alex Smith and Gore and go for Donovan, so I guess we can see how it goes in your franchise--for the Eagles.
And fire Andy Reid.

umm......GOD NO.
Donovan is the center of the team, and i like my franchise's to be realistic.
I'm also not firing Reid. If we don't make the playoffs, i might, but don't count on it.

Clinton Portis couldn't be stopped as the Redskins upset the Eagles.
NFC East rivals clash in this one. The Philadelphia Eagles, with a struggling Brian Westbrook, faced off against the Washington Redskins, who have a promising young quarterback in Jason Campbell. Donovan McNabb and Kevin Curtis both played stellar, but Brian Westbrook couldn't find any running room once again. For the Redskins, Clinton Portis had no trouble at all finding running room, while Jason Campbell and Santana Moss both turned in solid performances. One of the Eagles' bright spots was their defensive end Trent Cole, who turned in the best all-around defensive performance of the game.
Redskins - 30 Eagles - 24
Offense:
Redskins:
Jason Campbell- 11-16, 229 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
Clinton Portis- 21 Att, 108 yds, 2 TD
Santana Moss- 3 Rec, 97 yds, 1 TD
Eagles:
Donovan McNabb- 20-37, 260 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT
Kevin Curtis- 7 Rec, 124 yds, 1 TD
Reggie Brown- 3 Rec, 81 yds, 1 TD
Defense:

Another matchup of NFC East rivals face off in this one. The Eagles are favored in this one because of the Giants' loss of future hall of famer, Tiki Barber. Philadelphia's defensive line has to be excited for this game, as they always seem to get to easily-rattled quarterback Eli Manning. Manning won't only have to watch out for the defensive line, but also corners Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard. Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will have to keep watch for defensive ends Osi Umenyiora and Michael Strahan and safety Gibril Wilson, while Brian Westbrook will have to keep an eye out for linebacker Antonio Pierce.

Brian Westbrook was too much for the Giants to handle.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who are 0-1 in division games, face off against another division rival, the New York Giants. Giants' quarterback filled up a stat sheet, but threw four interceptions. Brandon Jacobs and Sinorice Moss also played great, but it wasn't enough, as Brian Westbrook finally exploded for a big game. Great defensive performances also came from Philly linebacker Takeo Spikes, who dominated the field the whole game, and Sheldon Brown, the Eagles' corner, who had two interceptions, one for a pick-six. Michael Strahan also had a solid defensive performance, but the Eagles get the win.
Eagles - 38 Giants - 31
Key Performances:
Offense:
Eagles:
Donovan McNabb- 14-19, 128 yds
Brian Westbrook- 17 Att, 135 yds, 3 TD
Reggie Brown- 3 Rec, 60 yds

The Philadelphia Eagles, who have yet to face off against an AFC team, play another NFC team this week, the Detroit Lions. The Lions come in with two of the most talented wide receivers in the league, Roy Williams and rookie Calvin Johnson, but the Eagles secondary of Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, and Brian Dawkins are fully capable of containing them. Donovan McNabb will look to exploit the Lions' weak secondary, but Brian Westbrook will have to keep an eye out for defensive tackle Shaun Rodgers and young linebacker Ernie Sims. Philadelphia is expected to win this one big, but Roy Williams and company are hungry for an upset.
Prediction: Eagles - 34 Lions - 19

Reggie Brown celebrates with Kevin Curtis after the Curtis touchdown.
The Philadelphia Eagles, sporting the yellow and blue jerseys for the first time in 75 years, faced off against the Detroit Lions. Eagles head coach Andy Reid didn't seem to worried about Detroit's running game, using Kevin Jones and Tatum Bell, but did seem a little nervous about covering young wide receivers Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson. It turned out that Reid didn't have much to worry about, as the Philly defense played great. Brian Westbrook, who struggled all game long, ended up fumbling and watching as a Detroit safety recovered the fumble and took it back 71 yards for a touchdown, sending the game into overtime. The Eagles won the toss, and used Donovan McNabb's passing attack to drive the ball down the field to set up the David Akers field goal. Akers won the game, giving the Eagles their second win of the year.
