Ok, I was playing a game the other day when in the third quarter I threw a swing pass to my halfback. After the play my opponent made me aware he didn't like this by going to the Receiving stats and noting that I had thrown to him 3 times now. I threw to my HB's a total of 5 times in the game, completing 4. Two were swing passes, one screen, and one corner.

For the record my playbook has well over 1800 plays in it (both sides of the ball). I like to use a bunch of different fronts and formations just to keep you guessing. Sometimes I find your week in the middle and I attack. Sometimes it's the edges. Sometimes your not giving me much of anything and I need to find my outlet.

Now this post isn't a complaint against my opponent. It was a fair game and he beat me straight up. It just made me think. I'm questioning what the issue is with thowing to my HB? 60% of the Eagles offense is Brian Westbrook, and over HALF of there pass plays go to him. I don't hear any NFL teams complaining about it.

Now I am a firm beleiver in the idea that there is no such thing as a unbeatable Offense or an unstoppable Defense. Adjust- Re Adjust- Repeat. Listen I understand there are certain things in this game that are considered an exploit, but a play call shouldn't be.

I take what you give me. If I drop back and you have great coverage downfield I'm dumping off. Now there's a problem with that because some players can't stop it. Come on guys. The greatest part about football is that it can be a chess match. Adjust- Re Adjust- Repeat.

Ask yourself this: Is what you are doing something that would be done in the NFL? And is the frequency of what you are doing consistent to the frequency of times they do it in the NFL?

If you answer yes to those, then it's not cheese.

It doesn't cheesy to me. It sounds more like he was mad he couldn't stop it. I use my running back the same although I run alot more screens than I do anything else to Earl. Having the blockers already there really helps.

I viewed the stats b/c you threw those like back to back to back to back, I was jus like ...damn, they weren't even going far...I didn't care that you threw them, but if they're not producing much, why keep throwing them? But nah, I didn't care what plays you ran...it jus seemed like whenever 3rd and 6 or 3rd and long came, it was time for the swing which I had well covered and stopped, but you'd still throw it there

So nah, wasn't "cheese"...jus confused as to why

Now I'll finish reading

I didn't mention your name Wyza because as I said in the post it wasn't about you. It just got me thinking thats all in general I have found more and more people getting upset at the passes to HB.
As far as the game goes on the 3 three plays in a row the HB was my outlet on two of them only on was actually intended in the hudle to go to the HB. The other two times you had the other routes well covered.
I was just questing why there are alot of players that feel any play someone runs more then say 2-3 times it is cheese? I didn't mean for it it to sound like a shot at you. I apologize for that.
