I haven't seen any mention to this, so I'd thought I'd ask you. If we are scheduled for a date / time in the tournament, but have no competitor listed, I'm assuming its a BYE round. If so, do we still need to proceed to the tournament lobby at the time scheduled or is there any other action we may need to perform to be moved into the next round.
Your insight is greatly appreciated.
TIA.

I was just gonna ask that, as well as a possible time change.
I'm finding the times perfect for round 1, even tho it seems i have a bye but round 2 and 3 at 11 AM PST???????? noooooooooooooooo. I'll be so dead I won't even be able to function, i need at least to be up for 2 or 3 hours before i'm fully awake. I think thats the reason why NHL teams usually play their games at 7pm, altho that would be too late for out there. I'm just curious because its a weekend anyway we could bump it ahead 1 or 2 hours, i realize thats probably a lot of work, but thats just really early for me. espescially if i'm playing people who are in the eastern time zone and have been up for at least 3 hours by my schedule.
btw thanks for the work on the tournament, and the replies past present and future. Its funny to come on the boards and see my name as the last post in most of the topics lol, but i'm really lookin forward to this tournament and i just wanted to make sure it's done so everyone is on the most equal level and playing by the rules. And we all saw what happened in the old NHL when the rules weren't being followed, Detroit one their Stanley Cups on hooking, tackling, holding, u name it, and the refs would call it whenever they felt like it, and only when its a team without Scotty Bowman as coach, it just got out of control, espescially in the pre salary cap era where Detroit was basically the Yankees of the NHL, but had the Canadiens had that kind of money comin into the NHL in the 70's their probably wouldn't have been a Detroit "dyansty" i quote it cuz they never repeat so technically not a dynasty, buy you catch what i'm sayin kinda? I know its a long read.
But yea i don't want to seem ungrateful tho either, i really feel like this has been a well done tournament with people from 2k actually listening to us here in the forums, its really great to be able to and have been able to voice my opinions on everything in the only game i'm really playing these days.
I can't wait to play some more, hopefully i won't get owned in the first game....i guess everyone's thinkin that tho right now haha. Its like the playoffs have come early this year, 2 months into the season lol. Go Canucks, go 2K.

If you have a bye in the first round, you do not need to be in the lobby.

Previously you had said in a post that the tournament would be played with SIM settings, please confirm that this is still the case?

I dont know if i will even make it past the first game but if I do I am going to be at work until 1pm (Pacific Time), and won't be able to get home until shortly before 2pm. So it would be really nice if you can push my game until 5pm EST. I saw you had the second round schedual from 2pm-6pm EST and I am really hoping if i do win you can push my time a little PLEASE?

Question... is everybodie's thing set on manual aim and manual puck protect? or we have a choice here?

It would be a pain to have to guess if the opponent is on auto shot or not pre game if he doesn't shoe his controller settings.

My schedule could conflict again on Sunday, i'm goin to the sold out 60,000 people west division final at 1pm PST. I'd like that to be changed to 6pm. Satuday i'm really flexible, but 11 am is too early, give east coasters way too much of an advantage. Why can't it be at 6pm PST like tonight?
And don't forget next sunday the 28th i believe is the 95th Grey CUp (the oldest Football championship by far) and i'm most definitely gonna be watching that, and it's probably gonna start at around 1pm or so. For more info go over to the www.cfl.ca site they have all the scheds, this is a very important thing to Canadians, almost as much as hockey.

For those of you who played your first game. Were the settings actually sim? In my tournament lobby it looked like arcade settings.

it look like arcade to me, which sucks casue i ask the TA and he said sim settings. so this tournament is not a hockey tournament instead, it will just be back and forth drive to the net to see who will score the most with the same move that works the most. this is really sad i don't know how you can play the final game at the allstar game and call it hockey.
if i knew it was going to be arcade setting i would have never wasted my time playing in this tournament.
well i'm sure i won't make it far cause i don't want to master one move that works most of the time, at least with sim setting there is a chance of defended it. anyways good luck.

TA, why the switch from SIM to Arcade? You've been saying all along that the settings would be SIM and now they are set to Arcade. Any reason for the change?

We do sincerely apologize for this change and I did want to play the tournament on sim. However, there were some factors that forced us to change the settings to arcade.
Please refer to the official rules:
"All rules are subject to change, and changes may be posted without notice.
Changes may be made on the day of a match to rules or tournament format if necessary to accommodate special circumstances. Rules are subject to change, and the word of a tournament admin is final."
