I am not sure if this has been posted, I have not tried this online, but I know it works with several teams on single play legacy mode.
You can pretty much steal the ball at will, no matter what level you are playing at.
Double team a player, holding the double team button down press the steal button. 8 out of 10 times it works. I average 35 steals a game. No not much fun in it. Have to create some house rules.

Yes, it is also present in the NBA 2k8 game. I think they saw that last year every time you would double team someone and go for the steal you would always get a foul called so this year they didn't want that but instead of making where when you double team and go for the steal you sometimes get it and sometimes foul or have some sort of a timing system where you have to push steal when it is on the side of the player you are controlling they just made it not call a foul.
Yes some people do use it online saying if you can't avoid a double team then you deserve it but in reality when players get double teamed they can pass out of it, if they are not against the sidelines they can dribble backwards if they havn't picked it up, call a time out bounce the ball off the other player out of bounds but this year they just allow you to steal it everytime.
I don't use it in SP but if its like a 2 pt game and i miss you can almost always get the ball right back to try again so makes close games end up going in your favor. I have had to stop doing that also because if i'm down by 2 or 3 with 1 min to go i can have like 4 or 5 tries at tying it or winning it. Rather just take the loss, you can not push steal tho and sometimes they get panicked and throw it away.

Yea, but I don't play Legacy, so I don't have to worry about it, lol.

In Legacy it really isn't that bad if you just stop your self from doing it or atleast only doing it a couple times you can keep the games close. But if you abuse it it really doesn't matter who you are or what difficulty you play on. Although if you don't press the better PG's can destroy you when you go for the double team they will find the open 3 and the next thing you know you can be down like 16 by trying to double team all the time. I wish they would make it so sometimes you got a steal and sometimes a foul.
Maybe even the more it is used the more prone the officials are to calling the foul. Then people who use it all the time will end up fouling out their entire gaurds.

Legacy is awesome, man...
Start a closed one and don't DT steal the computer. Play on MOP and watch yourself get owned...
Any time you play a good team with your crappy starter school you will get BASTED. That's why it's fun because if you do get lucky and pull off an upset it's a great thing.

yeah it's no fun playing the computer anymore. Online play is like real games against opponents that can actually think. YOu're online record is your real record and your online ranking, to me, is more real than being ranked in the top 5 against a bunch of ai's

Online is fun but Legacy is just so deep, you can't recruit online, you can't do a lot of things online except see how good at the game you are. I really don't care if I'm the best (well i know i'm not and never will be) but there the best thing is to play a season where you have a terrible record and are just trying to win your conference tourny to make it to march madness knowing there is almost no chance your going to beat the first team you play. Then after having played for 10 yrs or so finally being able to make it to the finals (maybe sooner maybe later) anyone can put legacy on one of the first 3 maybe even the 4th difficulty, or just DT steal the computer and win but if you don't and play on the hardest difficulty, it really makes winning games fun.

I did this and I had a pretty good legacy goin, I got an upset or 2, lost a lot of games I was suppossed to, but when I got into my late conference schedule I started winning every game easily. I got into the tourny and had some tough games against much better teams, but ended up winning it all.
