2k better put out some info soon if they're truly tired of playing "second fiddle" to the show.
with all the improvements it looks like The Show put it this year, 2k better be planning on putting out some impressive info very soon... theres already talks (especially on the OS boards) about people who may be trading in their 360 to get a PS3 just so they can get The Show.

One thing that I really hope 2k put in this year is 40 man rosters. The Show said it would be in and on the list it shows it but on the OS boards one of their dev's got on and said they wouldnt be able to include it but probably next year...

I have the 360 but I haven't touched it since September because I bought a PS2 just for The Show. Granted the graphics on that game suck, even for PS2 standards, but the gameplay is solid and franchise mode is deep.

2K needs to solidify gameplay, deepen their franchise/owner mode, and then worry about making it look pretty.

Me neither, i bought all the All Star baseballs for PS2, untill MVP 2004 came out, but that was 3 games, and I still wish that All Star baseballs and MVP's franchise modes could combine, with the minor league system of MVP with the roster management of All Star baseball, that would b AMAZING!!!

ASB diden't make it because of gameplay.It was good ,but it wasent adapting to things like pitching and other stuff.If it was still alive today,and if it would have fixed some of there gameplay issues it would be #1 or #2 behind the show.They had the right idea in making a great BASEBALL game.You can tell by looking at asb they loved baseball and wanted to make a game exactly like the real game of baseball.They should help 2k with there game.

I read this interview ( http://ps3.ign.com/articles/841/841745p1.html ) and apparently the producers spent a lot of time on the Signature Batting Styles. This is a great interview and recommended to everyone!

I am a huge MLB 2k fan. I am strictly an online player though so, I could care less about the 40 man rosters and stuff like that. Does anyone know why MLB 2k7's leader boards are always completely wrong?

Will this year's version still crash my 360? I had two copies of the game and used an X Box Premier as well as an X Box Elite to play them. The result is always the same. Eventually, the game just stops working. My console stops recognizing the game. The disc is in perfect condition and I have zero issues with any of my other games. This indicates that it is a software defect. I want to be sure that the defective programming is addressed before wasting another $60.

I agree i do like 2k sports games better overall but i am dissapointed they are releasing it on the same day as GTA 4, will hurt sales big time, dont get me wrong almost every title i ever own is usually sports but GTA 4 is supposed to be the best game ever made and i was all over San Andreas when it came out, i will be picking up MLB 2k8 the day it comes out but probably will only play it like twice the first two to three weeks, and about it getting any air time on TV i doubt it cause i remember last year i only saw it on ESPN when they first started showing it. One last thing on the whole ps3 vs. 360 give it a rest this is a 2k forum not microsoft or sony i have had a 360 for over a year never had a problem with it my ps2 used to freeze on 2k games all the time, and i will be picking up a ps3 in about a month and play both so just talk about the games. 2K will rule all sports games in 2008!!!

I am hoping that the new throwing and hitting engine will really put this series where it should be...a very realistic and fun sim baseball game with GREAT visuals and addicting online play. I love MLB2k7 but the overall defense and 1,000 HR's are frustrating! I really want MVP05's throwing mechanics!!!

Also, anyone notice that the player's names on the back of their jerseys is way to small and square? Kinda pickin' there.........

I am certain this game will be good, but man... I do hope they go 60fps this year with 2K8. I finally picked up a PS3 and MLB07 and let me tell you that game plays silky smooth. 60fps really adds a good bit of realism to the animations. Has anyone heard if 2K will make this a reality this year?

Right, but the draft is in the offseason. I guess it makes sense that players can be claimed during the season, if they arent on the 40 MR and have been with the team 5 or 6 years, but that rarely, if ever, happens.

I personally think that they shouldn't have the swing stick... but does anyone remember in MVP Baseball 2005 where you could do owner mode and build your own stadium, and do a staff draft where you could pick your manager. I liked those things but also they should include them because they were fun and I recently heard somethings that it was a popular request (building your own stadium) although if they do it, make it easier to make money, it was TO HARD in MVP to make money. The swing stick should be forgotten and replaced, it is TERRIBLE, i hate it. Those are my thoughts, reply
