Ok, I realize some people may not be exacly smitten with the guy but come on 2K................he almost single handed revived big time boxing n PPV, he earned within the Top 5 Athletes in terms of money and he's at his most popular right now.

So why couldnt 2K get him to be the endorser?

I believe in 2K so I honestly think they contacted him but he wanted to much money. Who cares 2K???? Its the Sweet Science, dish out the dough!!!!

well i think floyd is more of a negative for boxing than a positive,
he can carry the sport all by himself, but hes so damn cocky and arrogant, he thinks hes bigger than the sport, he's a hell of a boxer but damn, someone needs to humble him

and hed demand mad money if he was to endorse this game, 2k wont dish out cash for someone who half of the boxing community hates

Trust me, he's not an *******, hes just extremely smart. Drama=Profits. If he was just an A-Hole he wouldnt be undefeated, his dedication and work ethic seperate him from just being another bad guy.

As for the cockiness, its a certain swagger that he has, I love the swagger because it exudes confidence. I try to put a little swag into my own life every now and then, lol

Floyd IS the sweet science right now. No arguing that he is the best fighter in boxing and that he brings the fans out. Most people who are great at what they do have a level of 'arrogance', from Michael Jordan back in the day to Kobe Bryant. Hatton sounded just as arrogant leading up to the fight with Floyd... difference is, he couldn't back it up. Tired of hearing the Floyd hate.

He would however, probably ask for a whole lot of money that 2K either doesn't have or is not willing to pay. No question though that thier sales would dramatically improve with his inclusion.

mayweather is good and unbeatable right now!! he has earned the right to say anything he wants after beating hatton. He earned it and i had to reluctantly give him his dues. it wont matter in my opinion if he is in the game or not or any of the real life fighters are in it. as long as the gameplay is superb. i doesnt matter if the game has these fighters in them to be a hit game. the fighters dont make the game. . the gameplay does. THATS MY OPINION.

mayweather jr. is not in the top 5 paid professional athletes, I didn't see him ranked by forbes and he is ranked #21 by sports illustrated's fortunate 50.

the link is here http://jjb.yuku.com/topic/75374/t/The-2007-Fortune-50-Sports-Highest-Paid-Athletes.html

He made $20,250,000 combined in fight purses and endorsements, and then he made $11m plus a percent of the ppv for the fight against Hatton. Which puts him at $31m. But the estimates are compiled before his fight with Hatton so it they don't count until next year.

the only reason he made the bulk of that 20m was off his fight with Oscar DLH. as talanted as mayweather is he is not a big draw on his own, he needs another star to make the money. How much did he make against Baldimer or whatever that dudes name was? how much he make against Juda? he Needs a DLH or a Hatton to make big money. DLH can shadowbox on PPV and make more than Mayweather.

He should be in the game because he is a supreme talant, he gets a bad rep because of his attitude and the mainstrem fight fans don't want to see some quote unquote n i 6 6 e r from the projects come up and make as much money as these other American Sports stars who have more wholesome images. Mike Tyson was the exception because he was knocking everyone out in spectacular fashion and you know how everyone likes carnage... but an egotistical fighter that doesn't make many waves while winning, has a crackhead trainer and a cracked out father, cars and diamonds, white women and a brash big mouth... that is barely palatable by the masses.

I think Mayweather will get his respect from this fight because he won big and the fight was entertaining. The fight with DLH was a sleeper, it was boring and painful to watch yet was one of the highest grossing fights of all time if not the highest. He really should've been on the cover of this game, it should've been Mayweather presents Prizefighter, and his daddy and brother couldve done the chicken head dance in on 42nd st NY NY by the Port Authority, or in front of MSG to promote his fights... while dipping around the corner or into doorways to smoke rocks.

I'm bi-racial by the way meaning black and white mixed, so please no comments thinking I am a racist.

It would be great to see Mayweather in this game, but knowing the big ego Floyd has, he probably would want the whole game centered around himself. He probably would want it like Mike Tyson's Punch Out was, you fight a bunch of made up figthers and then have to beat the best fighter (that being Floyd) at the end.

Plus he probably would want way too much loot to use his likeness, and he DEFINITELY would want his name and face to be on the cover.

Even if they didn't land Floyd, i just hope that they have a solid roster of well-known fighters in this game and the gameplay is terrific. That's all i ask for!

Hey man I'm gonna give you a quote that I saw his manager say on 24/7...

"If it doesn't make business sense, it doesn't make sense"

Mayweather being an ******* on TV (some may call it CHARACTER) = money. Whether you love him or hate him, your still talking about him. And he's pound for pound the best boxer in the world.

Mayweather did bring interest back into boxing but its still a dead sport, when you have main title fights nearly a year apart how are you going to gain interest and hype in the sport.

Also there are to many belts, it makes it confusing for the casual boxing fan.

Floyd is the greatsest boxer in the game right now,but more people know Don King then they do Floyd. Why not get one of the greatest promoters of all time to go out there and promote your game. When you mention Don King to anybody they think of boxing, anybody.Floyd is not as big as Don.No way.

what does mayweather's family sins have to do with his boxing career?? Tyson was a common criminal as well as other things but was the best heavywieght ever. even Ali said on you tube that Tyson would beat him even in his prime. He has even been documented saying that he could not handle tyson even in his prime. If mayweather makes the game thats great. If he doesnt Great. the game needs excellent gameplay in the ring period. If all the fighters in this thread make the game and the gameplay sucks, GUESS WHAT??? U WONT CARE THAT THE FIGHTER WERE IN THE GAME!!!

Have any of those Floyd haters ever thought that he talks all the crap he talks because it causes HYPE???

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is our era's Ali!!!!

We all know he's got the skill, the marketability and savvy to be the perfect canidate for this game. Take away the Don King and put Mr. Mayweather Jr. on the cover. Lets see what kinda #'s this game does then (provided that it has all the features it should).

I feel you on that....you mention boxing to me and the 1st thing that comes to mind is....Ali.

You mention Don King and the 1st things that come to mind are corruption, greed and deception.

Ali made boxing famous.....

Boxing has made Don King infamous.....

Floyd Mayweather has single handedly brought boxing, a dying sport back to life. I've been watching boxing since I was 10 years old and am now 32. I've seen all the crap that has gone one. I don't think he's bigger than Don King, King has a "legacy" in boxing that stretches longer than Floyd has been alive.

Well I'm a very very casual boxing fan. Actually, I don't really even watch boxing at all. I just like boxing video games.

When the majority people of people in the world think of boxing, they think of Don King.

Maybe the 'hardcore fans' think of Mayweather. And maybe they think of the negatives when it comes to Don King.

But when you count the amount of 'hardcore fans', you are talking about 200 people (sarcasm) that are out there.

EVERY sports fan knows Don King. Not every sports fan knows Mayweather. They may know of him but they don't know his face and his accomplishments.

More than just hardcore fans, like myself, will by this game.

Don King is no doubt an icon. I am really surprised they got him to be on the cover.

I hope this game is the works.

What does the amount of money he makes have to do with him being in the game? Who cares if he is not on forbes list of highest paid athletes hell its almost impossible to fighters to make that list because they usually only fight twice a year. His fight with oscar was the highest grossing fight in boxing history do you think Oscar would have gotten that type of money without Floyd? Sure Oscar is the biggest draw in boxing but theres no way he comes close to that amount of money without Floyd. You claim not to be a racist because you're biracial LOL but your comment:
the mainstrem fight fans don't want to see some quote unquote n i 6 6 e r from the projects come up and make as much money as these other American Sports stars who have more wholesome images
Honestly, I do. I haven't watched any pay-per-view events excepts Floyd's cause I know that when he fights its going to be a good tactical fight. I don't think its on his agenda, making $$ is probably # 1 for him. But who's out there for him to fight?

The only reason I've said boxing is a dying sport is because of the lack of interest people have in it. When you watch a boxing match, you watch because of the art of fighting and the chance to watch someone get beat or possibly knocked out. Now, turn to UFC, MMA or what have you. You know there are true fighting skills involved (different type, style) and you know at some point someone IS going to get, KNOCKED OUT. Boxing, the allure and possibility of seeing a Hatton, Floyd knockout is there...Watching a UFC fight, THE KNOCKOUT IS THERE.

No one and I mean no one will ever be as big as Ali, so you can't even mention Floyd and Ali in the same sentence or anyone else for that matter. Ali is the most recognizable face and person in the world. That's like saying Kobe is more famous than Jordan...lol

Don't get me wrong, I love watching boxing. I have since I was a child and I will always love the sport but there just isn't anything or anyone interesting enough out there for me to plunk down the $44.95 - $54.95 to watch now that Floyd is possibly gone from the sport. Yea, Cotto, Klitchko, Byrd, Paqiuio, Sugar, De la Hoya..all great fighters, but I just don't see the $$ being worth it anymore....

All the greats need to be in this game to go anywhere. And maybe even some less known non-champion caliber fighters.
