I personally think its a waste of developers time, at first it sounds kinda cool but then u relise its really just annoying. I can go and play franchises and seasons and what not with it being available but i wont waste money on it and it really doesnt matter. It shouldnt matter it shouldnt really be in the game at least thats my take on it. Keep money u spend focoussed on payroll and in owner mode the usuals(ticket sales, Vendors etc..)

I have a suspicous feeling that all Inside Edge really was was a gimmick to make 2k6 and 7 more appealing because they knew they didnt have much to offer at the time so they used this to make it seem like an intelegent part of the game. it was "so big" to 2k for 2k6 thats all they talked about its like coming out soon 2k6 with inside edge, basically meaning heres 2k6 with the same stuff as 2k5 with updated rosters.

What do u guys think about Inside Edge? I dont hate it but it just seems pointless and if it were implemented more into the game (IE u needed it for big hitters or theyll always hit bombs) it would actually just annoy me to spend money on that and not payroll.

I only find it useful to me when im pitching.Alot of the time when the game shows me a zone the pitcher dosent even throw it there.all in all.its not a feature that they should be selling us on but its a nice feature to have although i aint gonna waste payroll on it through the first season.mabey secound or third

Its not bad, I like the info but it's nothing to wow about.I don't agree with paying for a scouting report..All I have to do is watch a guy for a scouting report. They should have scouts telling you if they think a prospect is gonna be good or not.I agree that they should focus more on things like albritration, options,no trade clause, teams rebuilding, and 40 man roster.

Yes! couldnt agree more. see if they spent more times on things like this instead of Inside Edge itd already be much better as far as the non gameplay aspects of the game go

i though IE was a good innovation, but it could have been done better. With hitters...it needs to better reflect not only where they like the pitch to be...but where they hit the ball and what kind of hitter they are. In this way...you could try to pitch hitter like Giambi away away away.....IE should also be pitch count specific...cause hitters zone change depending on the sequence.

Now with pitchers...its near perfect...you have guys with 5 pitches....most pitchers dont throw a true mix of pitches....take hoffman...he has a change, fastball and slider. He throws his change alot more than others...and IE should reflect that tendency to some degree, 2k7 did a decent job of this...but what they didnt reflect well was location of a given pitch...curves, sinkers, and spiltters are rarely thrown high.

Yeah, they could've come up with a better idea to do that.

I write up chart of all the hot/ cold zones for every batter. I keep all the info in a notebook. There is no inside edge for online play. But what I do when I go online is I use that chart and pitch to my opponent accoridingly.

what if 2k kept inside edge avalible to you when for instance your batting you can call a time out to go talk the 3rd base coach and thats when you would see the inside edge on the pitcher or when your pitching, the manager makes a visit to the mound and thats when you see the inside edge on the batter....sound good ?

I think you should only get inside edge during a season/franchise when you have played against a particular pitcher/batter already in the season or franchise.

I think they should've just done hot/cold zones.

they had it in 2k5 then they took it away after that, bring it back ben & dump the batter's eye

I think IE is cool for a while. I've used it and I have to say about it. I've completed 2 full seasons with my team and IE stays with the player as long as he doesn't retire. Before long, I had IE for the entire opposing team. I say with completed season, the IE on current players should go away and the game should make you rebuy IE for the player if you wish.

Wait do you mean MVP 2005?

Either way, they should brink it back.

Inside Edge is an excellent feature on paper, however, the developers could do a much better job implimenting it into the engine. The gameplay mechanics with IE is a fairly neat idea, but IE would benefit greatly if it was designed with better AI. The AI in past MLB2K games were abysmal, and the IE stats didn't really help it. If the AI is improved for 2K8, then IE would make the AI even better...if programmed properly.

I liked using it for a while as well, but only when pitching. It slows the game down so much...

I only bought a few...For hitters/pitchers like Manny,Ortiz,A-Rod,Beckett etc...Guys who I knew I would face in the playoffs.I didn't buy them before the season started though, but after they already rocked my pitchers and shutdown my hitters. After that I said "theres no way I'm going into the playoffs without having the IE on them".

I faced the Red Sox in the first round and did manage to shutdown Ortiz and Manny...But the rest of the team was on fire.Willy Mo' Pena was so clutch for them that series.Their pitching was great too.The series went the distance with the Red Sox coming out on top...I should of bought IE for the whole damn team!

Just stupid you ask me.

if you watch baseball you no how pitch guys like Jeter (hard an in) you know Andruw Jone sucker for chase off speed in dirt. So why have dum glowing blue an red squares. It makes it to easy to just some simp throw to the blue square. they should have that info and tendacys in game so players play like real true to live selfs but it basicaly take skill and thout out of pitching and stuff.

and facing pitchers is dumb

I find the inside edge not showing the right info and when your hitting and it shows where the pitcher gonna throw it how come 90% of the league alwasy throws low n out in that area its an easy base hit or homer every time for the pitcher it should so wat pitches he cant hit and where and his hitting chart like pull hitter or somthing it kinda shows it but it dont do it right .. Overall I find I.E. a crock a crap just an easier way to win the game
