Well, if you already have a good team and have a high draft pic. You can, on the off-season, sign who you have ot sign(coaches, players). Then import your college players, or dont import them. After the draft lottery, save the game. Scout players see whos good and who's not. Then draft someone. As the draft goes on, check the players already drafted and see who has the highest rating. If tyou do this, you can see who's a future star and see who's going to be a journeyman. You can also save money/points by signing a low salary scout.

During the draft, look at the players that the scouts compare the drafties to. The players that are compared to Jay Williams and Amare Stoudamire are the best ones with the most potential. Also, look at the players during the draft where it says above their strengths and weaknesses, "Shows Promise," or, "Could be a star in this league," or, "Could be a star at the NBA level." Those are all the best players. Don't draft players that say, "May struggle to be successful at the NBA level," unless that's all there is left.

Oh, and after you draft the players and go to sign them, if you've drafted someone with a rating between 70-73 in the first round then you've picked a good player. If you drafted someone with a rating higher than that then you've hit the jackpot. Your second round pick should be between a 65 and 69 or you might as well not sign him and just pick up a free agent.

I dont know if its just me but like you said who there compared to is important but also if they are a foriegn player.ther have benn some players that were the same but the player that was from a different country turned aot to be better.
