I currently have a PS2(i konw it is PATHETIC) and i played a lot last year online(124-81 record) and this year for Christmas I', either getting a PS3 or a XBOX 360. I need help with which one to get, i only really play sports games so no Halo or shooting games so does that mean i should get a PS3? im not going to get a 360 just cuz everyone else has one! on average how many people are usually online during baseball season for PS3 and XBOX360? Any help would be much appreciated! THX!

yea id say get a PS3... because of the sports ... unless football is ur fav then go w/ XBOX 360 because Madden's always had better ratings on the 360 .. i regret getting one because my fav sport is baseball by far

i cant afford a PS3 rite now so if i really dont like what i see w/ mlb 2k8 ill trade my 360 in plus a bunch of games ... and add like 150 dollars of my own and get a ps3 and a couple games .. but if 2k8 looks good ill keep my 360 and get 2k8 ... i wish theyd give us some detail too like the show did

LOL get a 360, ps3's online is garbage and lags way to much. 360's is nice and smooth. MLB2k7 was laggy offline for the ps3 LMAO. I had a ps3 and sold it because it is a absolute joke. Graphics are only better on the ps3 if you have a 1080P HDTV. IF you have 1080i it looks the excat same. Trust me dont go with the ps3. 360 is the now. ps3 is the never.

My brother, who works for Sony Entertainment as a programmer, bought me an XBOX 360. He feels that Microsoft provides a superior gaming experience with their online reliability. PS3 is a more powerful system; however, it lacks an online community. The amount of users playing online with common games is 2 to 1 in favor of the 360. Take All Pro Football for instance, you would have to wait over 30 mins at times just to find an opponent to play. Ask yourself what you want: The more dazzling system? or the better online community?

overall the games on the 360 are better when the same games are put side by side next to each other(Assasins Creed, Rockband, NBA2K8, Virtua fighter, SVR2008, Call of Duty, Madden, etc.) I personally think that the xbox exclusive games are far better, plus alot of PS exclusives often make there way over to the xbox. I am willing to be that eventually Meal Gear will be on the 360 just like Virtua Fighter and Devil May Cry has crossed over. I cant even think of another PS exclusive that doesnt have a similar 360 title that is comprable or better besides Metal Gear Solid. Games like Tekken wont crossover, but otherwise the other important exclusive is God of War. I am sure games and franchises like Halo, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Bioshock, DOA, Dead Rising, Ace Combat, Splinter Cell, Lost Planet etc. wont cross over from the 360 to the PS. All those titles do not have a truly similar game on PS and if they do they are far inferior.

When it comes to just the sports genre all the major sports except baseball have the same titles for both systems and in every case the 360 version is better. However, as far as baseball goes....PS3 is the better way to go just because you will have options. However, if MLB2k is better than the show this year....well you will be making the wrong pick by getting the PS3.

On the other hand as far as online community....there is no comparison xbox360 is far superior. The ability to download demos can get you into games that you may have not gotten into otherwise and can help you avoid purchasing games you might not be into. For example....there was alot of hype around bioshock....i would have gotten it, until i played the demo and realized i was not into it at all. On the other hand I would never have gotten my 2 fav games if i didnt play the demo (ace combat and guitar hero).

Overall the gaming and entertainment experience of the 360 is light years ahead... ok maybe just a few miles ahead. However, if you want to play it safe from strictly a baseball gamers point of view go with PS3. In truth, if the hitting system for 2K isnt changed there is a decent chance i might by a PS3 for the Show. I am a big baseball fan. But who is to say that The Show will be good...what if it sucks? I would never buy a system for just one title personally. But I like different kinds of games. The main games I am playing now are (Ace Combat, VF5, Rockband, and NBA2k8) so i need to take alot into consideration.

Basically the only way I would get a PS3 is if I was hardcore Tekken, Metal Gear Solid fan and I loved baseball games and really didnt like MLB2K7...and didnt care about any other aspects of gaming all that much. Good luck.

I would say wait until the baseball games both come out and wait for the reveiew...but, this has probably been the best 6 months as far as quality games in the history of gaming. You shouldn miss out. I mean there has never been a time period in gaming that was flooded with so many quality titles. Even games like Timeshift that has seems middle of the road now 1-2 years ago would have been one of the top games...now its just another game because the quality is so high. Sorry for the long post.

I am not a tech guy...but i personally would not describe the PS3 as the more dazzling system. I am told that technically it has the ability to outshine the 360, however, I have yet to see the PS game that I look at and say that it plays or looks better than the its 360 counterpart. I am yet to see a game on the PS that I look at and say...man I dont think the 360 could look this good. Play Assassin Creed, Mass Effect or Ace Combat and you will surely say....wow, i dont think the PS can compete with this. It isnt lightyears ahead as i joked about before, but there is a difference. If the PS3 is capable of running better games...it is yet to do it...or I have yet to see it.

You should get a Wii then you get to act as if you are in the game. No but seriously get 360 its more reliable online is crystal clear and graphics are much better on it. The 360 also allows you to rent movies in the marketplace. Also their the fact that you ca get a game in seconds when you go online.

Metal Gear solid will never be on the 360, and actually they are talking about gears of war 2 on the ps3.

PS3 exclusives comparable to 360 are as follows. Warhawk=16 on 16 online, soon to be 32 on 32, no lag whatsoever. Warhawk is comparable to Halo 3 which is the most overrated game in the history of gaming. Play COD4(which is the exact same on both system) then try and go back to the garbage that is halo 3. THen you Unreal Tournament III, which is better than gears of war(that str8 from the developers mouth, not mine, Same developr made the two games.)

LISTEN all that XBL has over PS3 online is in terms of services it offers, nothing with the online gaming experience.

XBL offers Video on demand and more old school games. But when it comes playing someone online, there is no difference, if your experiencing lag online it is either your connection or their connection. its that simple. And if you read that intervieww, you will read that brinkman even says he knows that the ps3 version last year was weaker before he even put the game out.

Let me clear something up for you. Multiplatform games HAVE, key word have, looked better on 360 due to the fact that they have been porting them from the 360 to the ps3. hence degrading the quality of the product. They had less than year to work with the ps3 and rushed the games out. you Can see the improvements already made by those that have been making the games on the ps3 from the ground up and not just porting them when it comes to COD4. Every game made from the ground up on the ps3 is absolutely gorgeous and plays fine. SImple as that.

I've never made any posts about the graphics card. You might want to re-evaluate what I've written because you're now getting posts mixed up. That's alright, I wouldn't expect a whole lot anyway. The only thing I've pretty much said is that people will like whatever they buy, and your "educating" will most likely not change their minds. You ignore many facts and scew them into your own beliefs and then pass them off as true.

Your link about Bioshock going to PS3 has no credibility. The game was originally supposed to be multi-platform, and there was some PS3 code in the game source. This was found on the PC version of the game. It doesn't mean that the game will come for PS3. Also, here's a nice tidbit that you've missed from the lead designer of "Bioshock";

Bioshock lead designer Ken Levine responds quite clearly, "I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people. There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding. There's lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft ... that's not a Rosetta Stone discovery."

Amazing what a little more information can get you. However, I'm not that informative I guess. Also, your tone is based on the words expressed. It's simple English logic. Listen to me, as long as i can buy a game, click on the online section, go online get in a lobby and play someone else besides the cpu, that it offers an online experience.

Yes XBL services are far beyond what the PSN has to offer. But as far as gaming online, they are the same. You see your friend online you join their game and blam your playing right along with them. Am i wrong??

Tmoney...i listed 10 top games that are exclusive to 360 that are from different genres....you were not able to really counter any of them except for Unreal vs Gears. I hate to tell you this...but Unreal III will be coming out for the 360...btw Gears is a 3rd person shooter while Unreal is 1st person...so its not the same genre.

Tmoney...i listed 10 top games that are exclusive to 360 that are from different genres....you were not able to really counter any of them except for Unreal vs Gears. I'd say go with the PS3. Despite being a year late off of the starting line it has a better diverse library of games than the 360. What people tend to forget is that you can import games for the PS3 that would never make it here to the states. And because of that, the PS3 has a bigger library really.

The 360's online community is better than PS3, that's true. But, PS3 servers are mostly lag free from what I've experienced. Plus, the PS3 is meant to be the center of entertainment in your house/apartment. The all around media hub that can play movies, music, games, photos, etc. Plus it can link with your PC and PSP and share content.

I'd say PS3.

RFOM is a much better launch game than COD2 and PD. 360 didnt have much when it first launched as a console. So yes, im allowed to compare first gen ps3 games to tha of 360 first gen games. Especially since some first gen ps3 games look better than 3rd gen 360 games. And they will only get better. Look at ps2, not so great first gen games, but games got better every year. Yes....you have Heavenly Sword...but if you get a 360 you can still play a game like Conan or Bewulf...they arent as good (yes i know they arent exclusives) but they are at least in the genre. After the Ratchet and Krank plus Lair reference I am starting to think you like bad games. Btw...i am not a big Halo fan I didnt get the system for that...in truth I got the system for MLB2K7 (which when I looked at the PS3 version paled in comparison). Even if Halo sucked I would have been more than pleased with my choice.

Seriously though, have you ever played Halo 3, you are one of the biggest Halo haters I have heard...its more than JUST the game that makes it good. Its the online experience, the ability film and rewind....there are so many good things about the game I could keep going. It is more than a one trick pony of a game. I actually had low expectations for the game to be honest...but I was pleasantly surprised. You should really rent a 360 or go to a friends house and really play around with it.

Also if you play Ace Combat with the flight stick on a big screen (57 inches) in HD...it is one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had.

Mlb 2k7 was dive last year for the ps3, brinkman even admitted it, but the gameplay was the same on both systems. The whole halo franchise, in my opinion, has been overrated its whole lifespan. there are better FPS out there than this. Yes HAlo 1 might have been revolutionary in terms of online, but every game has caught up to it that is online. Same with madden, madden has got worse every year it came out, it peaked back in 05. Now, the next gen maddens are terrible, its a disgrace to football. guys run around like they got something stuck up their azzes. Ill give you ace combat, but bioshock and mass effect dont appeal to me, same with half life and those "type" of games. Now counterstrike on the other hand, is dank as f_k, but its limited to my pc.

i did acknowledge that heavenly sword is better...my point is that there is something to compare it to and that you can have a similar experience on the 360. I am still waiting on your Ace Combat, Bioshock and Mass Effect comparison. You dont have ANYTHING in their league.

As I have said before it is a matter of preference. Its not what system is better, but more of what you are looking for in a system. If you are into...lol Patchit and Klank and solid graphics then the choice is obvious PS3...if you like top quatlity games with a great online community and the best graphics on a home console....360 is the way to go.

listen some people like filet mignon (360) other people are content with hamburger helper (pS3). Who am i to judge peoples preference? I mean after all they are both meat....I guess.

Im not going to read that cuz i can already assume whats its saying, and yes xbox is winning the war for sure but like i said before the future is alot different and all these sports tittles will be ported to 360 from PS3 much like 2K8 and Burnout will be it doesnt matter though like we said time will tell anyways.hehe tittles sorry couldn't help myself.:lol:

They just couldnt get the controls right. and about heavenly sword and conan, who cares if they are the same genres, they are two totally different games. that would be like comparing Halo 3 to blacksite:area 51, both first person shooter genre, but totally different experience and game. So would it be ok if said well if i want to play a fPs for ps3 id get blacksite, cuz its the same genre as Halo 3??????

You could say that...but its clear Halo is better. Heaven Sword and Conan are both action adventure hackem slashem games. so they are little closer...if the protagonist in heavenly sword was a man would the 2 games be really that much different

Also I am still waiting for the PS3 games that are in the same league as Bioshock, Ace Combat and Mass Effect. i will save you the time. THERE IS NONE. As far as Lair goes...a game is more than just graphics. When we are talking top games you cant throw in a game that is almos unplayable into the conversation....Anyway, i think my point about the current superiority of the 360 has been made. I hope the PS3 improves and makes the competition tougher, so I am rooting for the PS...like I said...I might get one, especially if MLB2k sux. But we will have to wait and see.

About halo 3...do you know it only runs in something like 620p???? hows that for showing off the power of the 360, it cant even run its best game at 720p. Have you played Heavenly sword??? just a question. cuz if you have, then you would know its the same as me comparing blacksite to halo 3.

I never said Halo 3 was the greatest game ever with the best graphics...like I said I am not a huge Halo fanboy. I like the game but its not like I am running around with a "Master Cheif is My Savior" t-shirt. It is a solid game and the game is more than its graphics imo there is sooo much replay value. As far as Heavenly Sword...I played it for about 2 mins at a friends house. I am not a big fan of that style of game. I think they are both action adv. hackem slashem. I think the same person who loves God of War will like both of these games.
