it probably just me worrying but I sure hope they didnt spend too much time on the PS3 against the 360... it sounded like (from that interview) that all they really focused on was the PS3.
not that I think i'll be dissapointed in the 360 version in any way but I sure hope its every bit as good as the PS3 version since, well, us 360 users don't have an option #2... :(
i still have faith that it will all work out

ps. glad to see an interview but MAN was that a lot of fluff... didn't really tell us anything besides what we already knew and/or assumed

THATS BECAUSE THE INTERVIEW WAS A PS3 INTERVIEW.IT WAS GOOD.I WOULD OF LIKE TO KNOW MORE BUT WE GOT SOMETHING.ITS GOOD TO KNOW THEY REDID ALOT OF THE GAMEPLAY ISSUE'S LIKE HITTING AND FIELDING.IT SOUND LIKE IT WILL BE MORE OF A SIM THAN LAST YEAR.I HOPE.THEY DIDEN'T TOUCH ON THE FRANCHISE MUCH BUT THE MINOR LEAGUE TEAMS SOUNDS GOOD.HOPE TO HEAR MORE SOON.

"On the offensive side, batting is all new this year for users and the CPU. We ripped out a lot of code – you'd laugh if I told you how old this code was, because it was old" - Ben Brinkman

No BS guys. I can tell you for a fact that the batting code was devolped back in 2003 for MVP 2004. I even mentioned this in a post on Friday before this interview came out.

PS3 guys im telling you more and more games are going to start from PS3 and port over to 360 trade in while u can... either way though im sure the game will be relatively the same 2K7 for PS3 last year was a little rougher around the edges but after an update for the game came out it was virtually the same game so no real worries for the 360 fanboys on here

So from what I took from that interview, It will be like MVP baseball where you can actually play your minor league games? That would rock

the things i am most excited about is that it seems like they listened to people on the boards. This is a big plus. It also seems that they changed the crappy hitting system. He said that swing location would factor into hitting. when in the past it didnt.

the previous poster noted that the hitting code was from MVP baseball, which makes sense...cuz hitting was the one thing i really hated in MVP baseball. It was timed hitting and that is what MLB2K7 degraded to. I hope that he isnt BSing and that you will actually have to aim the swing. There sounds like there will be some BS gimmicks...and I can tell that things like AI making stupid lineups will still be part of the game...but i think we will be seeing an upgrade this year.

Personally, i could care less about the minor leagues....I will probably never play it. but its good to have options. I would rather a minor league roster that had real names of prospects and you could watch their progression.

I dont think thats possible, only if you are in the MLBPA can you be in a MLB video game.

This is great stuff, Im glad I have both systems, which provides me options. This game feeks as if it will be the forthcoming of MVP. Here is my main issue, I have always noticed that in previous baseball games once the season is over that players seem to move teams too often which gives it an un-realistic feel. Another thing is once a player is edited, lets use my Billy Butler for example on the MVP series. He hits .300 + and has 20+ homers, but the end of the season retires due to player ability? Also, we have no control to trade the players back to their original teams when they are traded so frequently. What do you think?

The best news from this article has got to be the fact that hitting has been redone this is huge
hitting 5HR's with alex rios in one game when i have user power on zero was just pathetic.

The Tim Lincecum influence sounds awesome, where it pays off to play your minor league games. Sounds like it will help to progress your players more quickly. Almost sounds like 2k's answer to road to the show. Definately stoked for 2k8.

"When we were building this, we looked at Tim Lincecum as a model for why people would want to play minor league games. Here's a guy who got drafted in 2006, and by June of 2007, he was in the major leagues. I want to produce, in the Franchise mode, Tim Lincecum. I want people to be able to produce that guy. I don't want every player to be that, obviously, but I want there to be the number one draft pick guy that a year later, he's in the show and he's a factor."

Agreed on that. Tim Lincecum would be a huge addition to our staff and for many years to come even if we have to give up rios

I think that this game is going to be much improved gameplay wise....but I fear that this issue is still going to be VERY wrong. If they fixed it and I were Brinkman I would have brought that up in a heart beat. His silence on that says alot. Its too bad cuz this wasnt an issue in MLB 2K5 and back
