I want to make a thread so we can show 2k what we want in the game..Like the features, game modes, mabye even mini-games.. Please post what you would like to see in this game... I personally would like to see 2k team up espn and HBO to get evey detail to make it more realistic.. Also, I think take out the ratings like FN and have what apf 2k8 has..Have abilities like and characteristics of that fighter in his prime..For exapmle Ali would have quickness, knockout punch, and avoid punches..I think this will cut down on people using ali and heavey weight fighters..People will use their favorite fighters due to their abilities..

Why wouldn't it be? 2K kicks EA's butt in every other sports game so why would this be any different?

Fight Night wasn't all that great to begin with in terms of realism. I thought Victorious Boxer 2 was much more realistic than Fight Night.

I did like the knockout it FN though it was pretty cool..Also when you were dwon for the count you had to match up the analog sticks..Made it a lot more realistic..But I think thi game will have all the details needed to make it great..I just hope 2k gets a lot of boxers and has a lot of modes and min-games maybe.. I wonder what they will do with Don King?? I hope 2k hooks up with espn and HBO..

If this is true, then that must mean that Prizefighter will be THE worst boxing game of all time.

I just care for simulation and the training.

If they have it where you can take your created player online, I really hope they don't allow you to max out attributes or abilities; it needs to be risk/reward. Like you can only be so fast if you are a heavyweight, so if I build a guy that is quicker but not as strong I should land alot more blows but they won't be as strong.

For CP's online, I hope that you can gain experience from fights online and make your player better with points from beating players better than you, like an online career.

Its not going to beat fight night in sales if it just has legends sort of like all pro football. I say this becuase most people are already used to seeing todays boxers, and really dont want to play a game with all legends. Some of you guys are 2k fanboys. I mean I like 2k but god everything they put out you guys say its going to be better than ea. Let the game come out first. Same thing with apf everybody kept saying it was going to be better than madden. And I know lots of people who dislike and like the game so... stop being bias and let the game come out and then say if its going to be better or not.

don't know how credible dude is but in this thread -->http://2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150533
the thread starter said Andre Berto and Steve Cunningham were gonna be in the game...if this is true then 2k seems to be striving for a deep pool of fighters :)

illmatic32
December 15th, 2007, 04:38 PM
Yea. i think this game will a deeper than FN..Just b/c of the fighters that they have..Also I think they will have lots of options like create-a-fighter..hopefully they wont have player ratings and just stick to attributes..This will make it more realistic.. And ghouse sounds like your a EA fan boy... I think the game site said it will be realeased in spring..SO only about 3-4 months..So we have time to get info..I hope 2k wont do what they did with apf2k8 and realese vids and pics like a week before the game..

illmatic32
December 15th, 2007, 04:45 PM
This is what the game site said, that is going to released in spring 2008.. This is waht the president of 2k said "This in-depth, documentary-style title will provide the deepest, most authentic and entertaining experience ever seen in a boxing video game"

Also he said this, “The combination of real-life fight scenarios, story-driven gameplay and photo-realistic graphics will set this title apart from the competition,” said Christopher Hartmann, President of 2K. “

I cant beieve they have this in the game.. The president also said these are some things in teh game, "More than just a night at the fights - players will be responsible for building a career by overcoming adversity, avoiding temptation, and balancing their commitments to train and promote, all while focusing on the goal of ultimately winning and defending the title belt. The story will be told by a revolutionary sports documentary-style narrative never before seen in a video game"

This will be a a great game: heres a pic of the cover on the game site.. I guess Don King will be the commentator..

APF was better than Madden. Of course Madden is going to sell more because people are so loyal to EA and will buy they're junk no matter what. I have some buddies that were Madden fanatics but even admitted that All Pro was better once they decided to give it a chance. And who said that Prizefighter is just going to have just Legends? I'm sure it'll have some of today's fighters in it. I'm not a 2K fanboy, i just like the better, more realistic sports games, and that happens to be 2K's games. I thought that MVP 05 Baseball by EA was a great game and i still play it to this day, but EA's next gen games are just not that good or as realistic as 2K's are. I guarantee if 2K gets another shot to make NFL games when EA's exclusive deal is up, Madden will be in serious trouble because i think people are finally starting to admit that 2K is better. It took a while for NBA 2K to catch up with NBA Live as far as sales, but look what happened when it finally did, it all but ended Live's run as a serious b-ball game.

And aren't you the one being biased because you're the one who predicted that this game won't be better than Fight Night.

It okay Ithink you shoudl trade in your ps3 adn games and I bet they'll give you a 360..You then could get all the good games..i dont know why but it seems that 2k put a lot more effort into their xbox games.. If you get 360 you can get prizefighter,apf2k8,nba2k8, and college hoops2k8.. Then you can get all the best for the 360..Cause everyone knows the ps3 has weak games...

Real belts would be good. WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, IBO, NABO, European, British Titles etc... would be very welcome.

There would be more a sense of realism if real titles and real unification matches were involved in the game.

One thing I thought let fight night down, among loads of other flaws, was the lack of real belts. Fighting for the Everlast pound for pound belt was just nowhere near as good or realistic as fighting for one of the real world titles.

Realistic training camps would also be good. Training your fighter would form a huge part of the game play and it would be a real challenge to get your fighter in to shape unlike the EA training regime which was a bit shallow if I'm being honest.

Promoting fights would be good as well.

Also, I would like to see quite a few arenas. MGM Grand, Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, The Staples Centre, Madison Square Garden, The Thomas and Mack etc...

It'd be good to have this sort of thing because it would add a sense of realism.

Yea I totally agree..There was not enough of boxing rigs in FN..Also 2k needs to make sure that they truly have photo-realistic graphics liek they say they are..Cause everyone knows that apf2k8 graphics are way behind..They need to have deep campaign and lots of game modes plus create-a-fighter...

I would also like to see cuts be a real factor, like say you or your opponent got a bad cut in your last fight and you did'nt take enough time off to heal completely and it becomes a factor.

illmatic32
December 16th, 2007, 03:17 PM
True..In FN you could take all the shots to the body dn face..Then when the round was over you could practically get fully recovered, which isnt real at all. 2k needs to make a fatigue or momentum bar that shows how tired you are..Which tehn will make you move slower and punches weaker..For the momentum bar, whoever gets more accurate shots should have the crowd behind them and help them..I just cant wasit for screenshots and vids b/c I want to what they are going to put in the game and how realistic it will be...tehy need to have the sports ticker like they have in apf2k8 that shows updating scores and stats...

they should add in the effects that fouling or injuries can do to a fighter such as accidental head clashes that cause cuts over an area forming scar tissue..................
if you take too much punishment in a fight you should have to deal with the effects of it as you age...............

I think 2k will implement a lot of cool features in this game.. This is what I want in the game:

1. Tons of boxers to choose from(legends till today)
2. Lots of modes-campaign,training,mini-games
3. Create-a-fighter-Deep customization like apf2k8 has
4. Lots arenas-lively crowds, coachs yelling from corner
5. Cool animations-nice knockouts, fighters showing fatigue, cuts & blood
6. Deep online- take out rating system, maybe even leagues & tournaments
7. Great next-gen graphics-use all of the 360's power

I hope we can create as many fighters as we want and drop them into career mode and have a base for thier skills to start from so they maintain a decent or unbeaten record as they ascend the ranks and challenge us. At which point they will start progressing normally. I just don't want to recreate Lennox Lewis and have him be 31W-10L by the time I fight him. Someone one also said realistic records for fighters with above average skill levels.

And I agree with whoever said that career injuries should continue to play a role in the rest of a fighters career unless treated and given time to heal. Meaning if a fighter breaks his hand, he should have to take adequate time off, or he runs the risk of having reoccuring breaks and eventually has to retire. If a hand is broken and not healed properly, his power ranting in that hand needs to be effected. All that being said right hand power and left hand power need to be separate. Same goes for the cuts.

They need to figure out one hell of a health meter if they have one at all. It's true that some people like Ray Mercer can take endless power shots to the head and not get stunned, while others like Tommy Morrison took a power punch and got wobbley or gets knocked down... Two separate fighters, two separate types of chins, yet a game like fight night would have you sluggin it out. While we know what would happen.

I don't know, I just want realistic attributes that actually mean something in gameplay.

Facial swelling would be good also. In Fight Night Round 3 there was no visible swelling which takes the edge off it I think. I used to really enjoy seeing the fruits of my work in between rounds when my opponents face just seemed to go from bad to worse.

I agree with you..But you could notice in FN that in the fight your player face would be jacked up..And then after the round you could see all the damage that you did..But after the round you would be back to normal, so there ws no repercussion for gettting jacked in teh face..In Prizefighter they need to add a thing where fights might end at anythime not just the 10 round.I hope they put everything into this game..

Stats...stats....and more stats.....I want ratings on every punch with each hand....Fight Night only had like 5 rating or something.....to me it was like playin with the same dude...Frazier was just like Toney to me....Fight Night sucks azz.....We want a great career mode where we have to make weight...move up in weight....fight fighters with realistic records.....multiple titles.....CLINCHING where it can become a strategy or way of survival...in Fight Night you get DQd for Clinching a few times......DEEP CAREER MODE AND LOTS OF DIFFERENT RATINGS FOR OUR FIGHTERS....I want the one player mode to ROCK.........I wonder what 2k meant when they said fighters will be "Tempted".....hmmm...tempted to do what.....Maybe leave promoters....this is the most anticipated game for me as a fight fan in like forever....I have a 360....I own 2 games.....NBA 2k8...College Hoops 2k8..........this will be the third..

Oh....I also own VB 2 which has a great career mode...wish that there were more decisons and clinching but that game makes Fight Night play like Ring King....Hell that might be too generous......................This game will rock....How do I know this?......Because tell me a recent 2k title that dosent rock.......PS3 people who love boxing....I feel for you.....If this game lives up to the hype I bet you will be on your way to becoming a two system man...........Oh the Wii.....this kind of worries me.....I dont want some Hokey punching system...Buttons work fine for me.....use the joy sticks for upper body movement.........thats my rant for the day/week/month.....2k...please give us some more INFO.....I hate when they do this.....Man.....I hope I dont die or something before this game comes out.....been waitin for a real boxing game since Evander Holyfields game on Genisis.....Hell that game is up there with Fight Night.....Kudo is such a beotch....I would slap the glasses and his constant five O Clock shadow right off his face if we ever meet.

I would also like to see distinct styles and like Drewbaby said ratings for each punch.

Roy Jones needs to fight like Roy Jones. EA attempted this but missed badly in my opinion. Roy needs the left arm swinging...the ability to leap in with left hooks...throw combinations from different angles. I don't want to see Roy fighting like Bernard Hopkins.

There also needs to be some type of in fighting. I would like to be able to play as Ricky Hatton and use pressure and a rough style like he does.

I think my biggest fear is that you will just see two guys standing in the middle of the ring throwing basic punches that look the same every time they are thrown.

LMAO. Dude, I hope you're not serious. NObody would buy a football game with OJ on the cover. Don King is an interesting choice for a key endorser of the game. You see there are idiots around who proclaim that regardless of how good the game is, they won't support it b/c King is involved. But on the other end, for all his faults, Don King is one hell of a promoter and will surely talk up the game and generate MASSIVE publicity once it's release is near. In the end, DK probably helps the game more than he hurts it. He has a large stable (even w/o a lot of big name champs) and alot of clout.
