Not to throw gas on the fire, but for PS3 users this can be a big deal. Brinkman said he wouldnt comment too much on hitting right now and when asked about sixaxis he said the same. assuming they put the hard work in on improving hitting like they said they did, I hope 2K8 delivers a solid experience with the SC's (sixaxis Controls).
For 2K7 the SC's were pretty bad tehy had the right idea, if it got polished well this could be a nice addition for PS3 users. itll be like Wii on a better looking system and not using too much energy like wii sometimes can be. hopefully 2K8 SC's dont dissapoint.
What do u guys think?
I personally think they'll be a step up from last year but nothing to go crazy over and chances are ill just end up using swing stick most of the time. I just hope not.. Sc"s can be alot of fun if tuned into a game well

I agree with you on that..but they need to make hitting make you pick a location. Timed swinging isnt cutting it anymore. even if they have to get rid of the swing stick(meaning if they cant figure out a way to include location with the swing stick) and go back to something like All Star baseball and bottom of the 9th used. A box that you had to match up to the incoming pitch and then time the swing, and depending on where the ball was located in your box would determine a pop up, a line drive and so on and so forth. the box would be bigger for better batters and smaller for the average batters. Making a difference actually to whos at bat, as opposed to swing stick where if you time it right you can hit with anyone.

ya you can use swing stick and the way they implemented last year was not even close to what they could actually do with it. it was like they just threw it in there so they could market it like that. you couldnt even use it online, they didnt let you choose it.

Yes its just an extra option there was swing stick classic and sixaxis
and liek the guy above said they just kinda threw it in but if it were worked on well it could actually be alot of fun.

I wish 2K would just make up their mind on what control scheme they want and stop giving 10 different versions of the same thing. It gets confusing.
We need to go back to the tried and true method of cursor batting...

I hear that. Cursor hitting is the ONLY interface that truly represents bat on ball contact.

cursor hitting is ok, but the "classic" style 2k uses is trash. HOld up and hit x, HR every time regardless of batter. and regardles of where the pitch is located.

I think it'd be a good option and should replace classic hitting, however overall the hitting stick should be used but not like last years what so ever. NCAA MVP 06 and 07 had the hit stick well done it was great only problem was it was NCAA and on old gen stuff. if they copied that swing stick though there would be little to no complaints ever again. that stick was awesome.
but again Sixaxis could be great too even better than a stick
u guys got to remember different doesnt mean worse all the time. cursor batting was good in its time but lets move on.

the ncaa swing stick didnt implement location either though..it was still just timing. And you held L1 or R1 for contact or power. If they can find a way to implement location with swing it would amazing. For instance, maybe using the left analog to pick location of swing and swing with right stick. So if you hold up on left analog stick and swing your swing would be up in the strike zone. That way youll have to be looking out for location and time. EXample, i pitch the ball low and away, you hold up and swing, even if your timing is perfect, youll still miss the pitch because you swung up in the zone as opposed to down in the zone. hard to explain through words but you prob get my point.

yeah thats actually a GREAT statement I hope 2K gets a hold of this, the NCAA stick was great but that right there just took it to another level. great post

sixxaxis is the motion sensor control that ps3 controllers have. you can tilt the controller back and then push forward to swing. really wasnt implemented well with mlb 2k7. But i love it on nba 2k8 when shooting free throws. it makes it a lil more difficult.
