I sure do hope that there are much more foul balls in this years game. Last year there were like one per inning. Ben brinkman said a lot about how there was going to be a whole new hitting system, maybe that will help. Also said something about hit variety...

Unfortuneately you can never rule this out. I mean afterall...his job is to sell us on the game. Now even if the game is a total piece of **** he has to make that piece of **** sound like the greatest piece of **** ever.

I can go either way on this one. Now if there were a realistic amount of foul balls...this would up the pitch count to a more realistic number...However, this might make for more realistic game times...and I dont know about you...but i dont think i really want to play one videogame baseball game in 3 hours. However, it would add a layer of realism

some foul balls are ok but i wouldnt want it too much, i basically agree with what Mav's saying and Metros I dont think its unreasonable to think that way, however I do have some faith in Ben he seems like hes putting together a great experience. last year he kept talking about 2k8 and how the three yr plan is solid, this year hes still talking 2k8 so far and not much if anything about 2k9. this seems like it could be good news, but who knows, but if 2K doesnt deliver this year expect the show to takeover for majority of baseball fanatics out there this is kind of like a boxing match if 2k doesnt do good things with 2K8 there will be a huge haymaker from the show then 2K's really on the ropes and just about to die

yea once they start talking about 2k9 then you know its a piece of S*H*I*T ... and i like that saying Mav

NICE lol and true

i remember watching some interviews on Gamespot about 2k7 last year .. and he said it was a really good game .. and talked about all the awesome details the game has .. now i dont want to hear neg. things .. but i hate it when they lie about it .. and i understand that IS their job after all tho

I like foul balls too, I missed the pitcher/batter duel in MVP series. SO damn exciting!

I don't think he overhyped 2K7. He basically said that he's there making sure that the game would work, and that there would be more details in the game. The graphics were very good, there were plenty of signature style, and the game actually worked. I don't think he made any false promises last year. However, he sure seems optimistic this year. I know Visual Concepts press releases are typically pretty accurate when they talk about their games. I think 2K8 will play a good game this year. They surely should be focusing on gameplay mechanics. They sound like they have some new systems down, and I'm interested in seeing them. However, usually what comes with the new, comes with new glitches as well. No one should expect a glitch free game here.

Maybe he will put in something like a foul ball slider...?

I want the foul balls to occur a good number of times in a baseball game.

how about balls that hit the foul line? now that'd be amazing to pull off. like when it hits the line on the dirt, the white chalk flies up.

What about being able to breakup a double play. This shouldnt be to hard to do.

yeah, break up DP's. And what's with the extra speed boost the players get at the end of legging out a grounder?

i think if 2k8 is at least twice the game that 2k7 was then ill see some hope in the 2k series but if they screw up again then they are probably going to be blown away by the show.... but i think that 2k8 should be a pretty good game as long as they completely throw out the 2k7 way of hitting completely and redo it.. forgeting about what they threw out as a discrace to major league baseball games last year... unreal :thumbsdow :rotfl:   :noagree: (my expressions of 2k7)

my brother was *****ing about having breakup slides in the game too. Not all players run hard to first so they should have a "dog it" meter or somthing where big time players don't always run out ground balls examples: konerko, lowell, giambi, ect.

I dont think any of those players you mentioned are anything more than dirt trains!
