View Full Version : Intentional Foul/Free Throw Glitch??

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this.

With about 4 minutes left in the game, I steal the ball from his point guard and am on my way to an easy layup when he intentionally fouls me. I am pleasantly surprised to see the game actually referring to this as an intentionally foul, and rewards me with 2 shots and the ball.
First Free Throw: Perfect Release ~ Goes In
Second Free Throw: Perfect Release ~ Dude throws it like straight up in the air and lands in front of him

has anyone seen this, and is this a problem within the game or some sort of glitch??

No big with that free throw I would have won. I was facing a Roy Hibbert glitcher, he had me all game, I could have gone up 4, but rather I went up 1 at that point due to a double team steal on the inbounds, and I had to hit a 3 with 3.1 seconds left to tie the game. That point could have changed the game alot.

and why is it funny?

of course on the one hand im happy that they called the real intentional foul when I would have had an easy layup.

but if you are going to add that aspect into the game, at least do it right and dont f me over in the process. people are gonna start doing that all the time now.

fast break, foul you, so you get 1-2 free throws, and that gives them the chance to give up 1 point instead of the 2 from the layup cuz they will throw some cheese defense on you and get the ball back.

It doesn't miss the 2nd FT everytime. You just got screwed. People aren't going to start doing that on purpose.

Well apparently Im not the only one that happened to if Capp has seen it as well.

And dont tell me to suck it up, because this point could have been the difference in a game I lost in double overtime. With that one point, the outcome of the game would have been a win if the game played out the same way with me hitting a 3 at the end, but to win it rather then tie it.

Not at any other point online have I seen it say perfect release and have the free throw go straight up in the air. I did get screwed, but why wouldnt people begin to abuse it. Im gonna foul you on the fast break, give you 1 point instead of any easy two (if you make the first free throw of course), and then steal glitch you to get the ball back. Sounds like a good strategy to a cheeser.

and don't tell me, well in the past people would intentional foul you on fast breaks and there would be no free throws, get over it. well im sorry, but in the past there was no steal glitch, so I could still come down and put up a good scoring opportunity.

put the cheese away, cuz it sucks . . .

it's not funny that that happened to you at a crucial momment...it just seems like something out of a leslie nielson movie. The guy just takes the basketball at the free throw line and throws it in the air.....i would be aggravated with it...but looking back on it it would be kind of a funny sight....kinda a spontanious goofy azz glitch...no offense intended

I was playing a friend in college football the other day and I was kicking extra point before I snapped it my holder got down then got up and ran in a circle. When he went back to holding I snapped it and he moved when I snapped it and the ball just went back and stayed on the ground, it didnt roll or anything. And my kicker never moved.

I was like WTF?

lol....see that is the kinda glitch that just happens every once in a while....even though it may screw up the game a little...and we like to have good games....when we look back on it...kinda picture in real life...if the holder got up and danced in a circle for no reason at all right before the kick...we'd laugh....lol...i haven't seen anything good like that on my games in a while....sounds like i'd get a kick out of it though

as a casual fan, id probably laugh.

but as a coach or player on the team, id want that player off the team. they would be an embarrasement to the team and/or the program.

if i was up 25 points, it wouldnt be funny. why not? because its unheard of, and that player would not be playing pulling stunts like that. but what makes it worse is the scenario, the crucial moment of the game in which it happened.

i dont know the moment in time it happened to these other peoples, but without this foolishness I could have one this game. 2k always has to throw horrible problems into every game. the reason many people disliked mlb 2k7, for example, was the fact that occurences of things were outrageous. good, go make your all-pro football, great graphics, congrats. but i have yet to see a glitch in madden, although there are many, which have affected the outcome of the football game. one player running out of bounds on one play isnt going to kill you in a football game. a player running through the stands, thats not gonna kill you. a line with as many holes as butter, it goes both ways, so equal opportunity. but a missed foul shot due to a glitch, in a game where every point means something, thats a glitch that needs to be rectified. maybe not immediatly, as double teaming is the key issue, but one that could effect the outcome of some big games.

I was laughing my *** off, and I was getting killed so it didn't matter anyway.
