i dont get why they wont make their own mlb game?? same with nfl game. EA and 2k own the third party rights but can do nothing to stop a first party ie M$ or sony, hence sony makes the show. Sony should also consider bringing back nfl gameday to the market to compete with madden, cuz madden is str8 trash. Same with M$, they should heavily consider making a nex-gen NFL Fever. I think they stopped on the old gen cuz they COULDNT compete with madden, but now that madden is horrible and seems to be getting worse, throwing out those games might give ea some serious competition. just wanna know your thoughts

I agree Madden is a pretty horrible game if its was up to me the series would be put to an end, it has run it course. NFL 2K SERIES was so wonderful it was perfect. i can't till the day they bring the game back. the only reason EA went and got exclusive rights is because they couldn't keep up with what 2k was doing. I am so against exclusive rights it really never works out for us the gamers, never!

M$ should really bring out a baseball game I agree. What they should do more than anything is try to get EA Sports to work with them on the title. EA can make the game and as long as it is distributed under M$ Games it shouldnt break the license agreement. I am sure there can be a contract worked out that just for the sole purpose of a MLB game EA Sports would be a licensed M$ company.

I agree. Look at Sony and their MLB series. It would be awesome to have an option for 360 owners.

I was saying the same thing about Sony and football games. Y not just hire the guys making ALL pro football onto sony and have them make all pro football with real nfl players. and even if they cant do that, 2k should just make thier game generic as possible. instead of using the chicago bears just use chicago and use numbers like they do in the NCAA games. and even if you cant do that, just make it so that the depth charts reflect those of the nfl(rating wise) then make everything customizable, that way we can change the names just like in ncaa.

i wish on that aggreement between EA and 2k ... that 2k would of taken the football and EA would've taken baseball .. that woulda been better

There really is no reason for microsoft to make a baseball game. Microsoft perchesed HIGH HEAT baseball from 3DO back in 2002. They never did anything with the baseball game thou. They did make inside pitch but that did not do very well. here is a link http://www.gamershell.com/news/8749.html

However football will not happen due to EAs' contract with the NFL.

EA has a third party contract i thought. Just like 2k has a 3rd party contract with MLB. A first party developer, ie M$ and Sony could make these games.

Ya, i guess exclusive is different than sole third party rights. Which sucks for us.

yes but I think next year will be the last of the 5 year agreement..that means APF 2k9 should have NFL teams ..this is just my understanding of the whole thing

The reason XSN sports from microsoft (inside drive, fever, links, inside pitch etc) got shut down was because EA wouldnt put their titles on XBOX LIVE unless microsoft got out of the sports genre.

And the EA NFL contract is different than the 2k MLB contract. 2k only has exclusive 3rd party rights to the MLB but EA has a full exclusive on the NFL. So microsoft, sony and nintendo are allowed to make baseball games since their 1st party but no can make NFL games but EA.

Basically EA are a bunch of ******s.

about football, then youd know madden is absolutely garbage. Nano blitzes, Chuck it deep and pray. thats all that game is about. Theres no strategy involved, no nothing. Its complete hogwash on next gen. Madden 06 was pretty much perfect on ps2. Then they went and fd it up on next gen consoles. might look pretty, but its a horrible representation of football.

nfl fever 2001 was the best football game i've played to date and inside drive was the best basketball game i had played until nba 2k6 on 360. fever and drive had great graphics and the gameplay felt pretty real to me.

I bought inside pitch and yeah it was pretty crappy compared to mvp. You could use the black button for a power swing and knock it out everytime.

Yes, XSN didnt make the prettiest games but since then (we're talking about baseball specifically here)....M$ has aquired license to 3DO which is the company that developed High Heat Baseball. Now this game wasnt the prettiest game either but it was a very realistic presentation of what baseball really is. Add that to the fact that we are now working with a very powerful system which can produce some impressive graphics and M$ could potentially make the best game on the market. Sure the system of the High Heat series is a little outdated by now and requires some upgrades....but thats mos def something that is obtainable.

In short, we're stuck with Madden, Tiger Woods (PGA), NASCAR, NCAA FB, and FIFA as EA games. They locked every one of these licenses.

You would think they would do something but they havent, why all the fear? It just doesnt seem like M$ really cares has the time or THE RIGHT PEOPLE to make a solid Ball game, High Heat I never played personally it looked terrible so I like most people didnt even bother trying it out so i cant comment on that. but i dunno another game would be nice but it just doesnt seem like itll happen
