With 2K Sports being Mayweather and EA Sports as DLH. What do I mean? Floyd's strategy against DLH was, well, to beat him. You'd say, "duh!" But the fact is, Floyd wanted to really beat DLH by landing clean punches, keeping a tight defense, countering well, which he did all night long as evidenced by the punchstats. DLH, on the other hand, did not want to "beat" Floyd. At least not in the traditional sense. DLH came into the ring looking to impress the judges instead of trying to put some real hurt on Mayweather. How? DLH tried all the formulas, trying to flurry at the end of the rounds to steal them, throwing meaningless combinations while Floyd was against the ropes to create the appearance that DLH was in control and dictating the pace of the fight. DLH fans cheered every single move DLH made, which of course DLH was hoping for as it would influence the judges. DLH didn't care that he wasn't doing any real damage or if he even was landing any clean punches. He only wanted to appear like he was winning by forcing Mayweather back and pounding his side with fake, arm punches that have no steam behind them but look really passionate. But the whole night Mayweather was taking pot shots at Oscar.

I don't know about that. I think Oscar wanted to get at Floyd but he found it to be more difficult than he anticipated. I don't think he wanted to sellout for fear of getting fatigued down the stretch. Floyd is a brilliant defensive fighter and he rolls with shots so effectively that even the one's that land don't land all that cleanly. I thought Oscar fought a smart fight in a sense that he neutralized a lot of what Floyd does best, like the quick left hook that Floyd loves to throw, and he was effective at a certain distance instead of rushing in like a lunatic. If Oscar had went all out in the first few rounds and didn't land effectively he probably would've been gassed by the 5th round. Oscar paced himself, as an older fighter should do, especially against a defensive genius like Floyd. Hatton went all out and wasn't hitting Floyd with clean shots, and you could see Hatton start to tire by the 7th or 8th round. When guys fight Floyd that way they are going to lose because his defense is so good that all they'll be doing is expending their energy hitting nothing and he'll start to take them apart down the stretch and stop them. That's what happened to Hatton. I actually think the fight could've went either way. I had Floyd winning the fight by the slimmest of margins but i wouldnt've been surprised if the nod had went to Oscar, it was that close in my view.
