How long will PS2 NHL 2K8 Online Play/Leagues Be Supported?

I had never played online before getting NHL 2K8 so it's been a new and interesting experience. I'm sure many of you are veterans of playing online with the 2K series of games so I have a couple questions for you.

1. How long will 2K support online play and leagues for the PS2 and NHL 2K8?

2. If you have a previous year's game, how long did their online support last?

I'm curious because I just bought a wireless game adapter and wanted to get my money's worth out of it. From most accounts it sounds like this will be the last 2K hockey game for the PS2 but I was hoping they keep the online stuff going for a couple of years if not longer.

That is so awesome. I was worried they would shut things down after NHL 2K9 came out. I really like NHL 2K8 and playing online - especially in leagues - just adds to all the fun. This is for 2K Sports: :thumbsup:

I have a somewhat related question.

If I start a league and end up having to drop someone for whatever reason, do I have to find a replacement for that player or will it become a computer-controlled team for the remaining games in the season? I know I can send an invite to someone else, but it's a hassle everytime because you never know how long they'll stay with the league.
