Game Tips?

Here's my problem. As I've said in previous posts I'm new to 2k basketball. Played EA most years and it definitely is VERY different.....which is a good thing. I've completed the training challenges and gold starred most of them but when I get in an actual game...online mostly, I get my butt handed to me BIG time. And it seems to be mostly from the other team hitting 3's all game long, like almost an unreal amount. Seems that my defensive play is pretty week, and offensively I get the ball stolen quite a bit and a lot of my shots are always clanking off the boards.

I really do love this style of basketball over EA but it's starting to get frustrating. Any tips anyone has would be appreciated.

a) Play smart, dont make stupid passes. In this game you cant pass through people. Use maximum passing as well.
b) Go to coach setting and change defensive pressure to high for all players that way there is usually always a hand in someones face
c) Go through all-american training, gives you a good feeling for the game.
d) Shots are all about the timing, but unlike live, an average shooter needs some good space to make his shot.

use crossovers to try to drive to the basket and pick up fouls

use the right button to bring up passing icons to make passes to the player you want

use pump fakes
