APF 2K8 WONT PLAY ONLINE, 2KSPORTS WHY?

I have APF 2k8 on the PS3. I have read ALL of the posts on the Router Issue and the fact some lousy designer did set the game up right. I use the PS3 on Wireless Network at our Condo complex and DO NOT have access to the wireless router. I CAN NOT Believe 2KSports would be so lame as to not have a FIX for this issue. PLEASE RESPOND so I can play your stupid game or give me my $60 back since the store won't. Thank you in advance for ignoring this issue.


PROBLEM: I have never been able to succesfully start a game on a lobby by challenging someone. Every time I challenge someone and the other person accepts the challenge, the screen says "starting game", but the game never actually starts. After a few moments, I get a message saying that the game could not be started and that I should look in the FAQ for the problem. Of course there are NO FAQ's for this problem.

I feel for you man.. I used to have a crappy router too. Since it's your condo complex's router, I recommend checking the PS3 Network settings: Under Network Settings, click the top link to just display the information about your network connection.

Near the bottom is UPnP (Universal Plug N Play). If it says "Available" then your router setup properly. If its not "Available" then it's your condo complex's fault and not 2K.

Either way, you SHOULD be able to accept challenges from "most" players. I know that stinks, but it's been like this for a while and its not just 2K.. It's PS3 and XBOX's networks. EA games you don't notice it as much because there's 10 times the amount of people online to attempt to connect with.

Are you to at least accept some challenges?

WoW! That is the problem. the UPnP is NOT AVAILABLE. All my other PS3 games play online great. Its a shame this one doesn't. Oh well, time to trade. THANKS FOR THE REPLY!

This has everything to do with playstation servers not 2k. It is a known fact with many game developers that playstation has a certain amount of servers for there online community. If a game has lost its luster because of the lack of interest they will dedicate that server to a new online game. It is a sad thing but this is true. It could an error but this is a know fact on playstation online gaming.

I had the exact same problem a few nights ago (I bought APF for the PS3 because my 360 broke).

I went to this thread (http://2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128968) and it helped me solve my problem. Except now none of my stats will record.

You can fix your connection issues with this. And the records aren't recording because I think they're being reset or fixed.
