5-2= cheeeser?

I've played alot of games with my 5-2 defense, because it stops the run well, and i can always get good pressure while containing the QB using it, but i sometimes get the abused exploits review from people. I play Big Fan Big Man 1 and some how people think that it is some cheap defense that noone can beat. Do you guys think it is a cheeeser defense, or just soome crybabies who were angry that i was playing a high-school sim instead of NFL.

I think its not cheese..But I think it does take advantage of the passing and running..I would only use it in 3rd and short..But I do think people will get mad b/c of an extra d-linemen getting through...

Most people get angry because in the genric I form run up the middle plays my 2 run coverage LB's (customs 1 has run reader run cov and the other is run cov) meet the full back at the line of scrimmage and clog the hole for the RB, somehow this is a major problem even though that is a linebackers job in the 5-2, but sometimes players do get EXTRA angry if i use a delayed blitz and the D-Line is manned up so my LB/Safety can get by untouched. There are easy ways to counter this like a hot route bomb to a deep threat reciever or a swing pass to the back the back the saftey is guarding.

All you would have to do is run that route where the WR like starts at an angle towards the sideline, and then sprints straight upfield.

You can also use the swin pass to beat the 5-2. All the 5-2 does in out number the offensive line. There are ways to beat it though.

It depends how it is being used. If it is 2nd or 3rd and long, and I come out in a shot gun formation-3 wide out set, and he comes out in the 5-2...then I know 2 things:

1) i'm dealing with an idiot
2) he's itching to take advantage of the manual middle blitz.

I use 5-2 on the goaline, played a guy last night that had earl, and shut him down twice on the goaline. its a ver good run stop defence

I just played a 5-2 lover(grimr3apa) and after I went deep on him he still called it all game I won 48 to 12 or some crap and he gave me a nuetral "abused some exploits". So I gave him a negative for poor sportsmanship. Of course he messages me that I abused the deep pass glitch ROFL.

I can not believe that people are that freaking stupid. Its mind boggling to me.

Its simple football 101.... 5 man line with no safety help = if I get good enough pass protection I have a really good chance of burning you deep.

Not cheese as long as it is used correctly. It is technically a GOALINE formation. I've used it when I have my opponent at the goaline to get a cheap safety a few times. I actually like the Robber 3 play out of that formation over the Inside blitz which everone uses. The Robber works better than the Robber in the 3-4 package for some strange reason.

Deep pass Glitch..LOL..I mean geez. What glitch is that? Leaving your DB exposed on an island with no help whatsoever?

Just out of curiosiy did he have USC color scheme uni's ? I played a guy like this last night as well..he came out in 5-2 even whenI was in shutgun 3 wides. I would keep both backs in to block and just fire the ball to the mismatch. He would ocassionally "Change up" and blitz all of his LB's out of the 3-3-5 nickle. He quit by the 3rd quarter.

Giants Unis but he explained to me that if he had used his normal not created giants team it would have been a lot closer. Im thinking maybe he would have only lost by 28 that way.

i run a 5-2, but i sub 2 of the tackles with defensive ends. then go to man and press the receivers.

unfortunately i only middle blitz on 3rd and short, and only occasionaly then. and for all you people who say i can just bomb it deep ill play big man 1 with my saftey back deep and have 2 corners plus the saftey is bronze, swing pass doesn't work very well especialy since i have my lbs manned upover the middle or i manually move them if someone comes out in ace right or gun left, 5-2 is basically so i can get 1on1 with my defensive tackle. The only things i really have trouble with are facing a scrambler who constantly runs up through the middle, and out routes.. 5-2 is not only used as a dumb middle blitz, i average an allowed 78.3 rush yards per game., on the other hand i do allow 186.6 pass yards.
