Hello, out there in 2k basketball sports world. My name is Coach Sanders of Indianna.I was currently running a legacy under Texas State, but i cann't find it to update it with new stats. So,i started a new one that i will be updating each day with at least one game. So,to all my friends out there cincyfan, viking and all the others i hope you follow and give me all the input you can.
Summary of my first 5 years of Coaching college Basketball
I was a standout point guard for a small prep school in East Orange,NJ called Essex Catholic(remmeber this part).Along, with five other grammer school star who attended Essex Catholic with me. We turned Essex Catholic into a major high school program beating teams like Patterson Catholic(Tim Thomas),St.Patricks(Al Harrington),St.Benedicts(Josh Smith) and St.Anthony's(Danny Hurly). After, finishing high school i decided to take my game on the road and accepted a scholarship at Shaw Unversity in Raleigh,NC.It was cool, but not what i expected college basketball to be like. So,in turn i transfered to a smalled school in Concord,NC(barber Scotia College). At this school i developed my love for coaching from my coach and mentor. This is where my coaching carreer started.First,i was given acouple of AAU teams to run. Then,i moved up to coaching the girls team at Scotia.Right before i was set to take over the mens team at my school i recieved a call.
Hello, may i speak to Coach sanders?
Coach:this is coach Sanders how can i help you?
Smith: Coach this is Mr.Smith at Texas State. We were interested in bring you in for a interview for our open coaches position? Are you interested?
Coach:Hell,yeah!!!
Smith:That's good when would you like to come out?
Coach:Let's set something up for next week.
Smith: Great.
From there the rest is history.I went on the interview and landed my first college coaching job.The pay wasn't that great, but who cared i was the head coach at a small D-1 school.I would use the Texas State job to learn the in(s) and out(s) of the college game.My first year was amazing because of the level of talent i had on the team from the previous coach.Who i latered found out was now the coach of Santa Clara. My first task was to bring in a class that would turn things around in a hurry at this school. So,what did i do?I brought in two kids who played on my AAU team in NC and a big men that i had saw play when i went to greece.THAT WAS MY FIRST RECRUITING CLASS EVER!!!Over the next couple of years i played with the idea of leaving for a mid-major or major program, but i couldn't do it.WHY?I forgot to tell you one of the kids from the recruiting class was my oldest son Bj Sanders. So,my plan was to stay untill he graduated or went pro(he came in rated 73).
Ok,after five year at Texas State i won 5 conference title and 5 conference touney's as well.Plus, i went to the NCAA each of those years. Here are my finishes in those NCAA runs: 1 yr (2 round), 2 yr (sweet 16), 3 yr(2 round), 4 yr (Ncaa Champion) and finally in the 5 yr(Chamionship game). At that time i felt it was time to move on i had nothing left to do in this conference. Here are my confeference finishes for those years:13-3, 16-0, 16-0,
15-1, and 14-2.So,i had great years at this school.I took a team that was rated 69 when i first started and when i left they were a high 87 overall.I felt it was time to go i won a title there and my son had graduated.Around this time i had family issues in New Jersey that needed some attention, but Texas Stated wanted to add 4 years to my contact.I informed the school that i needed time to think. After, taking sometime off i returned to my office and had several message from other schools. One that stood out over the rest was RUTGERS UNVERSITY!!!A school in New Jersey was now calling on me to come in and help turn thing around. They offered me a two year deal.In which i accepted!!!Well, from here we are now caught up to where i am in my Legacy.Enjoy the rest to come.

After, accepting the Rutger's job alot of people felt that i made a mistake by leaving Texas State.Evrytime i was placed in front of a mic that was the question always asked. Why would you leave a good team for a bad team?My answer is always the same One it is in the BIG EAST and two i am home.I felt bad that one of the major programs in New Jersey hadn't been to the NCAA since 1991.Plus,they haven't even had two NCAA bids in school history.I felt that if i could come in and change that this school could become the UNC and DUKE of the BIG EAST.So,here i am at Rutgers!!First,i had to go over my players to see what they were good at and who would be my starters.
Rutgers: (5-13) conference, 8-20 overall was their record last year (2012)
Starters:
M.Meade (C) (JR) 7'1 :He was the leading rebounder in the conference in 2012 at 9.1 a game.Highest confidence level on the team.
R.Carrington (SF) (SR) 6'8:This guy was a solid player off the bench for the scalet knights.
R.Webster (SF) (SO) 6'9:All i can say is wow!!This player only avg. 0.3 points per game his freshmen year.
Q.Russell (SG) (SR) 6'4:THis player shoots 92 from behind the three point line.Plus,he has the second highest confidence on the team.
H.Borick (PG) (SO) 6'1:Solid ball handler and can hit the open shot if left open.I look for him to run my offense like C.Sammuel did for me at Texas State.
2 Unit:
K.Domkemp (PF) (JR) 6'9: One of the players on the team with alot of confidence on the floor, but isn't good enough to start.I was unsure what the previous coach was thinking when he recruited him. With the lack of size he was safe from the cutting block this year.
L.Owens (SF) (SR) 6'8:Great player in a one on one situation. He cann't shot the three or the mid range jumper.Making it easy to put him at the Power Forward spot to have him closer to the boards. He is a great rebounder for his size which will help DomKemp on the boards when the 2 unit is on the floor.
W.Power (SF) (SR) 6'8:This is a good player to have floating around the three point line.Plus,he can get to the basket easy on taller or shorter denfenders.
N.Strong (SG) (FR) 6'5: Freshmen recruited by coach that was fired.Unsure what his strengthens or weakness are yet.
R.Lasgna (PG) (JR) 6'0:Great point can handle the press of any game.Has more experince than my starter, but only has two year left with me.My start has three and is rated maybe three points better than this guy.
Back-ups
A.Amere,FR,SG,6'3
L.Jacobs,SO(JUCO transfer),PF,6'7
Overall veiw of team:I love what i have here to start off with.I have great (PG) play in Lasgna and Borick for the next three years.Plus,i have a rising star in Webster and a presence for the first time ever in the paint. With no one on my team currently with pro dreams i look to be a very good team this year and next. The key positions on my team are locked up for at least the next three years(PG,SF,C).As a coach you cann't help but love what was left here for me to play with.I expect a great year out of this team.Once my system is in place i feel we will run this confenece.
First Game: at Texas State (0-1) (i had to play them first to ensure that they would be ok)

Looks like you had a very nice run at Texas State. Maybe after a nice run at Rutgers you will get the chance to head to Indiana to turn them into a powerhouse once again. Man those guys have been killing Coach Dezaron. I think I might finally have it to a .500 record but they still have ended many championship runs.

No offense to you rjsuperfly66,but i am 6 year in college hoops.Any player still on my game from when i started is a special needs person. All players from all the schools have either graduated or went pro.Every team now has made up names.

Deuce,to be honest i may not go back to IU.I am having fun playing in conferences i didn't play in in the 2007 game.See at that time i did WIU,Santa Clara,Wisconsin, and finally IU.Who knows i may retire from Rutgers.I am a fan of making my on history and Rutgers is a power school with no sweet 16,final four,or NC.So,i could be there and get my lifetime contract.

Welcome to Texas State today we have a great game for you.Today the Rutgers Scalet knights take on The Texas State Bobcats.Coach Sanders returns to bobcat arena as the Head Coach of Rutgers after taking the Bobcats to their second NCAA Chamionship game in two years.Coach Sanders the winnest coach in Bobcat history gets to play against players he recruited into this fine program.Today,we get to see if Coach sanders can come into this arena and do what other caoches couldn't do here in the last five years. You ask what is that?WIN.Coach Sanders has only lost 5 games in this building over a five year period. That is a one game a year average which puts him right on top of that list of coaches who won't allow their team to lose at home. With that being stated will his Rutgers team come in here and win or lose to this young bobcat team.Rutgers lead in scoring by sophmore K.Webster and in rebounding by M.Meade are a very hard combo to stop on the block.Meade a 7'1 , 298 pound center can play with his back to the basket or get his points off the boards.Webster a all around player with dreams of playing on the next level is that player that gets it done.Today,i stopped Coach sanders for acouple of words.
Reporter:Coach has important is this game to your team?
Coach:This game is very important for both my team and Blancet's team(TEXAS STATE) because this will let me know what i have to do to get this team together. As with Coach B.He has to measure what kind of recruiting he has to do to improve his team.
Reporter:What do you mean improve your teams? You have just taken over a power conference team and Coach B just took over your TXST team.Does TXST need a over-haul of the roster?
Coach:No,i don't feel TXST needs a over haul of the roster, but Coach B just like anyother coach likes his own type of players for his systems.I feel like i left him some great young talent mix with acouple of upper-classmen that will make the difference for him down the line.I myself miss having Sammuels(so) running the show for me on the floor.I had visions of me and him doing alot of great things in this conference, but it didn't happen. Now i can only hope he lives up to his full potenial. Now onto my team this is a team that fired the coach from last year. So,if they didn't have to improve i would mostly still be in Texas and the old coach would be here.I feel i just need to get in acouple of my own guys again to put in my style of play.
Reporter:Have you spoken to any of your former players since leaving after the NCAA?
Coach:Of course i have.I spoke to Sammuel,Rainer,Kane, and Stav all before the start of the year.Giving them all their what to work ons for the year.Plus, you have to understand my son Bj that played for me is one of their best frineds so they call the house for him alot to.My wife and i treated the players like additional kids.i feel that is the reason they all pick TXST over the other schools.
Reporter:You gave them their work ons?Are you trying to get any of them to transfer to Rutgers?
Coach:No,i am not trying to get anyone to transfer to my school.Plus,i informed all of them that they need to stay to keep TXST going strong.Yes,i gave them their work ons. Each year i give all the players work ons to strenghten their game. No,disrespect to Coach B or nothing it is just something the kids asked me for. They all love to improve their games.Coach B was busy this off season trying to fill gaps on his rosters so i don't think he had the time to get everything together like he would have like.
Reporter:Finally,What do you see TXST and Rutgers doing this year?
Coach:Well,i expect both to improve alot on last years performance and keep making progress towards the future.I would love to go back to the NCAA in my first year at Rutgers.Seeing as they haven't been in the NCAA since 1991.I would love for both of these teams to make it to the title game and face-off,but i don't this that will happen.
Texas State (0-1) VS Rutgers (0-0)
Half-Time:40 to 36
At half you would have thought you were watching to power conference teams battling it out.Texas State didn't back down for the Scalet Knights press defense lead by Meade in the paint.Meade a stand out center in the Big East and college basketball had 8 points,7 rebounds and 4 blocks.webster on his way to a career night add 14 points at the half.Sammuel(TXST) looked like he had now settled into that leadership role on this team and dropped 16 on rutgers at the Half.Even with the outstanding play of Sammuel Rutgers still lead at half by 4.
Final: 88-70
Coaches Comments:This was a great game from the beginning to the end.You look at the score and think that this was a blow-out,but it wasn't.Texas State put up a big fight, but defense cause the young team to fold under press. One thing i did not have at Texas was a great big man in the paint.Battie at TXST was a good big man for me because he could run the floor and hit the outside shot.Meade isn't going to leave the paint and he changes shots. That is a huge diffference! You put that with the fact that i am going to press the **** out of you. That leads to alot of blocks and steals at half court. This was a good game and i am happy i came home to Texas. As Coach Sanders made his last comments he walked out of the arena to standing crowd chanting his name.History has been set here by coach sanders and i hope Coach B understands the shoes he has to fill.As always it has been a pleasure i will see you soon. So, long from the Bobcats arena!!!
TXST:
Kane 12 points,5 reb
Sammuel 28 points, 8 ast,4 stl
Rainer 8 points,3 reb
Rutgers:
Webster 26 points,4 ast 4 stl
Carrington 14 points,8 reb,1 stl
Meade 14 points,14 reb,8 blocks

Today's match-up faces up to power conference schools in Florida and Rutgers.Florida is said to be one of the toughs schools in the country this year.Althought, the didn't make the preseason top 25 poll they are a very deep team.Going 11 to 12 deep off the bench making it hard for teams to prepare for you.Plus, with the addition of two high school All-Americans.This team could be at this years final four if they learn to play together. This will be a early test for this Florida team.Coach Sanders known as one of the best up and comming coaches in America will have his Rutgers team ready to play ball.Meade the starting center at Rutgers after one game leads the NCAA in blocks with 8.Webster a new found star that was buried on this Rutgers bench last year has stepped up as it's new leader.Only a (SO) he looks to become the face of this program for the next three years.Coach Sanders was quoted as saying that he hadn't ever coached a player of Webster skill level.Able to shoot the three, put the ball on the deck, and make a sweet pass like a point guard. At 6'9 with room to improve this may be Coach sanders's first player to go to the NBA.With no further news to report we send you do to the floor for tonites game. Thanks for watching College game day.
@ Florida (2-0) VS Rutgers (1-0)
Half-time : 33-19
Half-time comments:Looking over the half time stats all i can say is wow!Stated Coach Sanders.Meade on the block looks bad this game so far.He has helped out a little on defense with 2 blocks, but his man has hurt us alot on the low post.We need to step over on the wing to stop dribble entry into the paint.Plus,we need to recover quickly to their shooters on the wings.Once the ball goes into the paint and we double down.Their bigs have made the right play and kicked the ball out of the paint for the open shoot.Webster has let his game in his dorm room back in New Jersey.Shooting 2-8 (6 points) from the field and has had some good looks from where he recieved the ball.He has yet to convert on any of his 3 point shoots.Hopefully, with the half time adjustments this will get better.
Final: 60- 64
Final coaches comments:Great adjustments by my staff and myself at half helped us pull this game out.Coach Dovan has a great team here in Florida and this was a good win for my team.First,it seems as if my comments about Meade upset him alittle at half, because he came out and hit 4 straight shots from the post pulling us within 5.Then from then on it was the Carrington and Boriak show.Carrington who won player of the game dropped in a career high 22 points,6 rebounds,5 steals as he lead the press for us.Boriak became more of a scorer thean a passer when he noticed that other players heads weren't in the game.Boriak stat line read 14 point,5 asst,3 steals and he showed he was the general on this team.Webster never recovered from his bad shooting first have finishing the game with 10 points(4-13).That ok because he has to understand if he goes then the team goes and when his shot is not falling then pass the ball.He young that will come with acouple more games under his belt.I am just happy we pulled this one out.
Florida Stat:
Scott Wall 24 pts,12 reb,3 blks

Rutgers stat:

Vols21,Yo i have never had a center as dominent as this guy.I am kind of upset that i only have him for two years. This guy is a true beast with his back to the basket and he changes players minds about comming to the paint.I have never seen team shoot jump shoots on me like this before. They make it a point not to get to close to the paint. He is truely an erase.

I know i saw you played your old team in the NCAA chamionship.I consider games like that mirror matches. Why because the players there are the player you recruited to play your style of ball. So,when you are playing sometime they may run a play like you would have if you were there.good luck with the rest of your season.

Todays, the buzz on Rutgers campus was great. For the first time students were eager to buy their tickets for the first home game of the year.Maybe, because they all sense that with the arrive of Coach Sanders winning is just around the corner. With wins over Florida and now a power Texas state(Thanks to coach sanders)students feel that they will be supporting winners and not the old scalett knights. Some students were quoted for stating how bad they felt that their school was always at the bottom of the standing in the Big East.with this being Coach Sanders first game at THE RAC he will look to show the college community what he plans to do at Rutgers. With no more further to say i take you court side with Dickie V.
Hey,today we have a # 4 team in Kansas comming into New Jersey for a great match-up between two power conference teams.Kansas on paper has the edge on this in-experinced team lead by Coach Sanders, but with Coach Sanders swagger it looks to be a good one.
Half-time
Kansas: 42
Rutgers :36
Half-time comments:this was a very bad half of basketball for us and we are only down 6.That was the message i stressed to the kids at half.We went 3-10 from behind the 3 point line as well as shot 7-13 from the foul line.We couldn't have played any worest.Webster the true bright spot in all of this went 6-7 from the floor and 4-4 from the foul line(16 points,4 rebounds).Learning that the team goes as he goes Webster has started to press the issue on the court alot more now.making him a nightmare for small forwards to guard. At 6-9 with the wing spand of a 7 footer there isn't to much you can do once the ball is in his hand.Kansas lead by a great shooting guard (K.Martin) had 14 points at the half hitting 4-7 from the three point line and adding two foul shots. Our goal is to come out and press this team until they cann't take it.Then at that point we are going to press them some more.
Final
Kansas : 71
Rutgers : 74
Kansas Stats:
K.Martin 20 pts,4 reb,3 stl
H.Walker 15 pts,8 reb, 2 TO
M.Davis 10 pts,2 ast, 2 stls
Rutgers Stats:
K.Webster 29 pts,7 reb, 4 stl
Q.Russell 20 pts, 1 stl,1 ast
M.Meade 8 pts,10 reb, 3 blks
Final Comments:Great turn around in the second half. With the switch on defense with webster guarding K.Martin that slowed down their three point shooter.Webster made it hard for Martin to get a shoot off with a hand in his face.Martin's 6 second half points was just a reflection of how things started to go for the Bluejays.Hot in the first half and cool in the second helped Coach Sanders secure his first win in THE RAC.Not just a win,but a big win over a top 5 team. There are alot of teams out there now taking notice to this Rutgers team with good reason.Coach sanders has this team doing thing they didn't last year? That's playing together!!!!!
Next Game:Santa Clara (4-2) @ Rutgers (3-0)

It's is bad that he was in touble at OU for this same problem. How do you get the chance to make right and you blow it again. He may never get another chance to coach on that big of a stage like IU again. He may resurface somewhere like USF like Coach Sutton. It's apure shame because Kevlin Sampson is a great coach.Plus,i sent them my resume about a week ago.I still haven't heard anything.

ohh and XU did play IU this year and we all know what the outcome of that game was. I for one am really hurt by what happened with Sampson. Right now it looks as if he won't ever coach again at the college level.
We talk about how athletes keep getting chance after chance and they never learn...well where is one example of why they never learn cause people always want to be on top they will always take short cuts. I knew it was a bad decision when they hired him, hopefully they can rebound quick and move on.

Well i hope we keep our intrim coach. He is a former player and a ***., to bob knight for twelve years. He has coached at Bowling green for ten years.Plus, the team loves him.I feel like alot of the big schools need to stay true to they history.Who do you think will take over when Coach K retires(DUKE)?Dawkins his right hand man. That's who!!
