Do any of you guys use the big hit ability or choose players with that ability to use it often? I find it incredibly hard to use with minor reward. For the guys that DO use big hits... do you force more fumbles or create more injuries with these hits? Also, any advice on how to land those hits easier? I miss more often than I land them for sure!

Get right in front of then, and if its finesse hit up on the stick and youll hit himp up top. Hit down if its a power back and most of the time youll take his legs out from underneath him.
Or you can go with a huge hit and click the stick but theyll break away more then theyll tackle.

Yeah I'm talking about the "huge hit" where you click the analog stick. I have a lot of difficulty landing those things. I'd love to lay some of those hits on brave souls that dare run across the middle of my defense and jar some balls loose!

ok ive just made a big hit team recently (every player being a big hitter except some DT's) and ill tell u what ive learned from it all.
first off on how to execute a big hit. 2k did a little trick to it that makes it seemingly hard to pull off. basically if u attempt a big hit but are too far away, your player will actually aim to the left or right of the ball carrier and miss on purpose.. the right way to do a big hit is to actually click or push up or push down right before they run into each other. so basically dont try diving big hits or youll intentionally dive out of the way.
again on diving big hits... if u come from the side and do a diving big hit, i guaransheed you that the ball carrier will do that animation where he gets his legs blown up by hurdles over the defender anyway... trust me... i played against the cpu and did diving big hits from the sides and dan marino turned into earl campbell
now on fumbles and injuries... i of course have no proof on this but i think it has an influence on teh game. for about teh last 40 games i havent had any fumbles or injuries.
then i used my newly created big hit team. jack tatum got an interception then fumbled the ball on teh int return. another game, on 3rd down, im down 7 points late in the 4th quarter so i go to bo jackson. hes clutch, and at this point in the game theres no doubt that 'clutch' should be in the works. anyways, bo FUMBLED THE BALL getting hit by a bronze LB, and one of my linemen recovered it. 4th down and long, so i try a screen pass to the right. bo catches it, i run, charlie waters hits him and he fumbles 2ND TIME IN A ROW and the ball goes out of bounds and i lose the game basically.
now the LB that hit him wasnt a big hitter or a ball stripper. neither is charlie waters. and bo jackson is clutch, his performance should have been 'his best'.
now im thinking that the number of big hits that i do in my games has an influence on fumbles and injuries. of course jack tatum wasnt hit by a big hitter or ball stripper he just flat out fumbled the ball. same with bo jackson. but i think what happens is the big hits over a game wear players out as the game goes on. i think the best example is clutch bo jackson fumbling 2 downs in a row.. everytime someone got slammed real hard the game starts deciding whether or not its a forced fumble... well players were hitting their clock cleaned all day and holding on, i think the game decided that EVENTUALLy all the physicality would cause a fumble... also a generic DT got injured from a cut block (or chop block i dnot know) and i dont know if that was influenced by my physical team or not...
also on slamming recievers... do what i did, go into practice mode on defense, get joey browner and jack tatum, and tell the offense to throw hail marys and just practice slamming the recievers. the only thing thats a problem for me is auto strafe, sometimes when a catch is caught over the middle i want to do a big hit head on but because of auto strafe im facing straight downfield and its not a clean 'head on' hit

WONDERFUL response! I'm going to try your advice out right now actually! I'll post my thoughts a little later on. I plan to run some practice mode and just get more comfortable with laying bigger hits than the usual tackles with even generics. Again thanks for the input I appreciate it!

i suppose this could be a lethal combination with bump n run players
