1. They need a blog or someone who interacts with people on the forum. but I would love a blog so we can see developer updates.
2.Let us make videos of instant replays on the sports title. People that like to make music videos for videogames will post them on youtube to show off their creations. Word of mouth is the best way to sell video games that why I bought nfl2k5 and this made the sims 2 famous. I know they have the thing where people can make them in nba 2k8. But let it be where we can save the videos as mpg or avi files so we can bring them to the pc.
I wish they would let us know where we can download them.
3. Did I say blog. Games I dont buy are the games where you can't communicate with the people who make the games. 2k games are the only ones I buy that dont communicate with the public. They listen to the public but they dont talk back. I feel like Im on Ghost Hunters trying to find info. Do I need EVP device to hear you?
The reason I wrote this is because 2K has such great talent with animation and people really don't see the talent they have. 2K actually has great potential for NEXTGEN system. Their animation is more to real life than other game.
It's just shameful to me as good as 2k make these game that they dont have a voice.

the conventional advertising is done on tv and magazines for the game industry but with todays advancments the best way to effectivly market your product is to use the web sites
that most gamers log on too to get game info basically costs companys zero money to do so and the web sites are tickled pink to release it. as far as the game engine or game play
or teaser trailors utube links that demonstrate your product is another nice touch again zero dollars. creating a blog on lets say this site that releases new pics daily will get users to log on for sure and the sports games have live streaming at the bottom now of sports updates can also give info on new products or special deals on games or alot of stuff that
gammers can see just by turning on there xbox and poping in there games by 2k sports
i think if i were in charge of advertising i would only advertise basketball durring basketball breaks same with hockey you want to make sure when you advertise on tv the
people who actually like that sport are tuned in no reason to run advertisments at 3 am in the morning for your product even though its cheaper. also on every product they should have a box art contest and the winner gets a free copy of that game you will see alot more people join and gain more intrest for the product considering that it costs like 60 us dollars to give away the game but you could really gain alot more support or intrest so to me that is an effect selling tool. also the pre ordering i would make it were if you pre order the games you can pick from a list of diffrewnt box covers kinda like a special eddition for peole who pre pay and every 2k game i would have a acheivment bonus that unlocks cards on players that you can trade and other echevments give you points that you can use to buy uniforms or legends players that makes the game have great replay value and also makes people want to buy you product knowing that there is more stuff that you can show off or get. well hope that help got more ideas but no time lol laterz

Many companies now have a public face that they used to interact with the community, even if it's virtual. They typically take community feedback, and post updates as to what's going on within the company. Relic's 'Buggo' is a prime example of this approach. It gives the company a ton of free advertising and creates good will within the community. 2K is definitely big enough to take this approach, and would benefit greatly if they did.

2k in general has never been good at advertisement or selling there own product. 2k5 football is a great example of this. Chris berman the halftime show etc...It's all very selllable.
A figure, mascot or gimich only goes so far. I would advertise @ football games.
When i went to see the lions in NOV. they had around 65,000 people at ford field. To me they should have stands and stuff at the games. Showing football fans whats out there. You are more likely to hit your target there.
NFL network is also a cheaper venue to advertise on. Rather then the millions it would take on a major network.

your right about being a partner to nfl network even to host weekly shows for nba or nhl would be nice were you do the 2k matchups and show your game engine as examples
plus you would want to sponser or be a major donater to any cause that lets say the nba has the commercials that says the nba cares they run that so many times between game breaks if you were a major part of that cause you would get your name mention as well those sports have way more advertising dollars to waist so its good to partner with them.
and to get your company logo link on there main web pages. if you were to ask the head ceo of espn about signing the contract with ea sports i can almost 100 percent tell you that they wish they never made that deal they seen what 2k sports did with them in there games and figured we could really get some exposure with this company not knowing that they would just shelve them.

You're right about that, but (and I know; I used to play Madden) the NFL Network license and everything is in Madden. You can see a banner of it in just about every stadium. I think the NFL Network is tied to the NFL, which has a contract with EA.
If I'm wrong, it's a great idea. Heck, even if I'm right it's a good idea, I just don't think 2K would be able to.

By not having any community representative, not only do they miss out on creating good relations with the community, they tend to foster a state of ill-will. A prime example of this was the release of the patch for APF2K8 on the XBox 360. Everyone was happy there was a patch, but no one likes having their software updated and not knowing what was changed. Gamers were already frustrated by the somewhat cryptic nature of the Player Abilities and not knowing exactly how each ability worked, but after the patch, they were left to wonder exactly what had been changed on their game. By simply sharing a little bit of information, if only in a forums announcement, they would have calmed the concern and questions of the gamers.

Best advertisement: release 2k9 for $19.99.
However, since there will be no 2k9 this year (http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155803) the whole point of this thread is moot.

If the reelmaker had been free, I think the game would've gotten a lot more publicity in places like Youtube.
Being able to spectate and save replays in online games would be sweet, too.

You have no idea how much Super Bowl ad spots cost, do you?
There's no way 2K can afford to pony up the type of cash that's required to get air-time during the Super Bowl.
Even if they had that type of money to throw around, why would they do that when they don't even have a product to advertise right now?

Maybe they will have something to Advertise and on Superbowl Sunday will be the day they present it to the world...ever thought about that? Taketwo just added a new company called 2k Marin, and 2k Czech...so they have the money. They are opening the market for better advertisement

Do you speak English? I know you can't write it, but just wondering if you at least have some familiarity with the English language.
