I'm having some mixed results with Too Tall Jones and Jerome Brown, and I was wondering what other people thought about some of the silver DLs, good, bad, or otherwise.

My personal opinion on star DL is that it may not be worth using them. Against the CPU, I feel like Too Tall is very effective. As far as online play I really don't think they make much of a difference. Just my two cents.....

I like Jackyoung blood. I havn't had him on my roster for awhile but when I did he was shedding oline and sacking everything. Poor run stopper.

Keith Millard causes havoc for my defense. Which surprised me, because I don't think much of lineman.

Maybe you are putting them on the same side? Try putting Jerome Brown as the #2 DT, where he is sooooo much more effective.

Never put your D-linemen on the same side, because they just simply aren't as effective, and your opponent would just run away from them.
Also, put your smaller, pass rush DTs at the #2 DT spot, and big, run stopping DTs at the #1 DT spot.

good point..with both of them on the same side, someone can simply just slide their protection to the legend-heavy side, or just run away from it the whole game

I only used Perry and Saleaumua for one simple reason:
Their weight. Weight is the number 1 factor for an effective pass rusher or run stopper. They weigh in at 300+, while upper tier DTs and DEs are around 260.

perry and sal both have run coverage. their hard to block correctly.
try marty lyons and mike golic and youll get the same results as the run, because they both have run coverage. also dave butts

A very effective way to get a great pass rush is to pull you legend defensive end 2 yards outside the offensive tackle. When the play starts charge him up then unleash his second level move. You can destroy generic offensive lineman by pulling you DE 1- 2 yards off the offensive tackle. When executed properly the QB will have no more than 3 seconds to get rid of the rock. However, you leave yourself venerable to any running play towards your side. That is why I only use this tactic if it is 3rd and long or if I am near certain my opponent will be passing the rock.
My favorite silver d lineman is Keith Millard. He has a great 2nd level club move. He doesn't get very many sacks for my squad. But he gets a lot of hurry ups on the QB. One downside is that he does tire out easily. I think that is because I am charging him up and making a move almost every play he is out on the field.

i think stars on d-line/o-line are a waste. i stop the run with generic player and 2 bronze LBs. and i'm very effective in the run game with no oline stars.

I've got the exact same set-up in my front seven. Who do you have as your LB? I got John Anderson (who is absolutely beastly for a bronze) and Otis Wilson (pretty good as well).

Keith Millard this guy gets an insane amount of sacks, and paired with Dan salemeneua to just eat the middle i can get around 2.5 sacks per game on a passing team.

Hmm. I tried Millard out with Manley once and I didn't get much out of it.

dont use a de and a dt always use 2 of the same, they seem to be much more effective that way, with most of my teams i just pair up sal and lett trhen get a bunch of sacks with lett.
also did anyone notice the Dline spin move is availible for CAP WR's?

its weird i have yet to experiment with it... it should be cyclone but when you create them it says spin.... try putting him at DE and see if it works lol.. if it does i might have to look into some more 2 way players:)
