THis is just a random rant.

1. Why do people just want to sit back and let the AI play for them? I have play three opponents that don't control anyone on Defense. They usually use the DT and I swear they are not doing anything. They are letting the CPU do it all. I sent the player an email and he said this is how a true SIM player plays. I was like WTF. If that is sim I don't ever want to be Sim.

2. Why do people move there D line all around on everyplay? How does this help? IT's just annoying.

3. Why do people use there WR at RB? I'm not sure how this helps you unless your hot routing the WR up the middle.

Thats pretty much my rant for today.

This was a joke thread. RB subbed at WR in my opinion is not cheese. Boffa might have issues. But seriously. Have you guys ever seen a player not playing but letting CPU do everything? It's funny.

I don't control anyone. That's not how I play. I try to design the play and I want my guys to do exactly what they are supposed (no freelancing). I do not move D lineman around either. I will play you any time. My GT is my ID. I promise you playing against me will NOT feel like playing against a computer or an automoton. I will make solid adjustments all game to what you are doing and I have a knack for remembering what plays you run from what formation. Once you run it once, I know it. No computer will do that. Besides, the teams on this game offline have very limited defensive playbooks, and as a result they are pretty easy to score against. I am not saying you won't score against me, but it won't be easy.

Just out of curiosity, do you think controlling a player gives you an advantage?

If so, why do you fault people for playing at a disadvantage, especially if they can beat people who take the advantage (I win 85% of the time)? If not, why do you purposefully try to play a way that makes it more difficult to win? (not talking about cheesing).

I could care less what my opponent does but I will say when I control a generic he plays to the level of a Silver or Gold (when compared to the A.I. controlling a Silver or Gold) so I think it helps to control a player but there are also disadvantages as well. But I prefer to control a player.:D

Prefer is the key word. That is tpat's point. It's just a preference of playstyle.

Would you say it is cheese for someone to let the CPU "coach" as in pick the plays and then control players? Since in a way that what you do is "coach" and let the players play.

All you gotta is press O (B on xbox) to switch to closest defender.. and as long as you don't touch left analog, AI will still control him 100%.

I do this if I'm eating a sandwich during a play or something.. just to make the opponent think I'm still playing.

So, tpat for example, could make you think he's controlling every single tackler.. when really he's not. So to actually pay attention to who the dude is controlling, is kind of pointless. Although I realize I'm the only person who understand how this works.

Same thing for playing defense on passing. You can press O to switch to DB while ball's in the air, but not touch anything and when the AI picks it off, the opponent will "think" you made a manual INT. Fooled!

Yeah, sub in a generic HB or QB. Then tell me your control over them improves them to similar to Silver or Gold level.

By that logic, controlling a Gold Safety would promote him to Platinum or something. Generics don't catch or tackle any better on defense when you're controlling them. In general, you're just getting them into better position to perform a catch or tackle.

They are faster when you control them. If you watch a replay, as soon you switch to a player they get a significant burst of speed.

I don't agree with you, if you know how to use the right stick to tackle then it drastically improves my (Run Cov Generic LB). If you try to dive then no they will probally break the tackle if its a Gold back. But isn't defense about help? If I can improve a Generics response time to that of a Gold or Silver and atleast slow down the ball carrier isn't that doing my job?

Also with offense its a bit different, there are people who have great success with Generic QB's and HB's, but you have to put them in situations to be successful. You should be trying to go deep with a Generic QB dinks and dunks and some intermediate passes but you need good weapons around him perhaps a Rice, and Coates, same thing for a Generic HB, either a good WR core and QB, or Star Lineman or Fb leading the way to openfield. You gotta be smart its important to put generics in a position to be successful and in doing so can make them seem much better than they really are...."Platinum as you put it".
