OK so all these retired stars are ****ed at Gene Upshaw and the NFL cause they don't support them and donate them money. Well why doesn't 2k get a deal with the NFL for the rights to all ex NFL Players, and 2k can pay to them what they already are paying all the in-game legends now (plus some) and then the NFL can give the ex-players the money, which means they don't lose any dollars and 2k pays a little extra money for the rights to EVERYONE that is retired. Does it make too much sense?

I have suggested this previously. It makes sense. Infact maybe the NFL will endorse the game as a Nostolgic Legends game with NFL logos ( throwback ) and classic stadiums. But you have to get the deal struck with both the NFPLA and The NFL which is hard but not impossible.

When a player retires he is no longer part of the NFLPA. They dont have the rights to sell ex nfl players. When you are part of the league you sign a contract to be a part of the players association/union. Some players dont join it such as Lavar Arrington. Hence he was always number 56 in the games. So the NFL/NFLPA has the rights to make the deal on current players but they do not hold any such rites to retired players. There is nothing to do but sign them as individuals.
