I posted in another thread, I found some information that could cause a lot of speculation by those wanting a new and improved game. I only want to post this information to let everyone know about this, it could be something that will revolutionize this game and finally put the spear in Madden.

2K Games Licenses Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3

NaturalMotion Joins UE3 Integrated Partners Program
http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/15702/...tners-Program/

To see the how this is revolutionary check out the website of the footage of gameplay and physics that are being used by this company at http://www.backbreakergame.com. This is totally amazing with how the game might play.

You're right something ground breaking could happen. If I was 2k I would wait till next year that way they take the time and rebuild their engine to use this "Great" creation called natural motion. The only way 2k will have a game to compete with madden is to take the time to add this in and make the game fully customizable. Other wise w/e they come out with will be a waste.

Your right if the next game isnt totally customizable with some sort of chise/multi season it still will not compete imo.

if this is the case, then 2k is definitly gonna use this ground breakin technology for the next football game. I agree that they still need to look into opening up the creative options in the game and letting us really make it fully customizable. EA is defenitly sweatin over this. makes me a little nervous. i can see EA trying to finally deliver the final blow to 2k and just buy out 2k itself and bury the technology so 2k cant come out with it. or just take it for themselves and do nothing with it. lets hope the new grand theft auto really boosts take-twos stock and gets them back in shape to defend themselves against EA money wise.

No need to worry about GTA4. That game always sells like hot cakes. I'm pretty sure alot of people dont even know both games are from the same company. 2k should just take the time to make a whole new engine or use the old one and add the natural motion. I don't know about you guys but I can wait 2-3 years especially when I played 2k5 for like 4 years. Let EA ruin their game even more if that is even possible. Now that they got the extension they will be even more lazy to fix anything.

Yep something revolutionary, but probably not a football game. I wouldn't count on any of this for a 2k9 game. Right now I wouldn't even count on a 2k9 game. If they were going to use the stuff in those articles there would be no way they could get that in between when 2k8 was released and say June. No way.

2k and take two already stated they are looking at different possibilties to make the game more attractive and possibly a different release date. I wouldnt expect APF2k9 in June. its not like they have to rush to get this game out before the NFL season starts cause it has nothing to do with the NFL and they know its not gonna compete sale wise with Madden. I think they're days of competing with Madden and the NFL are over. there just looking to get a really good revolutionary upgrade for this game to make it more attractive and sell more. The upgrade hopefully will include the new technology that they have now signed a license agreement with. im sure the license agreement is also to prevent EA from using the companies technolgy as well. The different release date is probably gonna be deeper into the fall after the NFL season has started so the Madden sales wont necessarily take away from it as much as it would in August.

IMO, they should wait to release next April/May, if not June. I'm not saying in 08, but wait until 09. Around that time, the draft is fresh camp is around the corner, and gamers get that itch to play a football game again.

using this technology, could really bust EA's balls!! I think this makes for an incredible football offering should they implement it in the next versions of APF

if they were going to implement the new technology into the next APF then i would definitly have the patience to wait till 09. plus i think if there gonna implement a new technology, they might have to come up with some new fresh ideas other then chasing legends around tryin to get them to sign contracts. I think the focus point of the game should be more advertised towards the natural motion tackles. Which obviously would be more attractive to a consumer than washed up Legends. I dont think they should ditch the legends, but they might have to come up with some more "fictional" ideas to make the game look cool. Maybe make the game look more like a football league out of a movie like "any given sunday" or "the program". but keep it strictly realistic to football, not like blitz with guys flyin 15 yards when they get hit.

you guys are funny.
to my knowledge, 2k has said SQUAT about another football game coming out.
i would be more interested in hearing from THEM than you guys.
its been a week since the announcement by EA and still no word from 2k.
silence speaks very loudly at times and this is one of those times.

they already qouted in an interview on one of the gaming sites that they still plan on having a 2k9 football game but there looking at it closer to make it more attractive and lookin to have a different release date. Im sure the very recent news of EA extending a contract with the NFL has put some things on hold for them to have meetings on what there next step is with a possible 2k9 football game. Plus the recent news of them signing license agreements with the new natural motion tech companies is probably somethin that they are lookin into as a possibilty of makin the game more sellable to a consumer. It is the wave of the future and they wouldnt sign the license if they were not planning on using it.

Yeah they said that. But don't take it as set in stone. They can always change their mind.

You however are failing to make a distinction between Take 2, 2kGames and 2kSports. Take 2 and Rockstar Games are already using Euphoria in Grand Theft Auto and people ASSUMED it would be in 2k8 but it was not. Just because Take 2 and 2kGames or Rockstar Games uses it in some of their games does not mean 2kSports will.

i understand, trust me what im sayin is all speculation and hopes. I dont know anything more than the next guy, but im hoping that when they say they're takin a closer look at it and a possible different release date, im hoping they mean "we are thinking about using the euphoria engine to make the game more attractive and were not sure how long it will take to make it work so we are not gonna release information of when the next football game will come out."

It makes sense that they acquired this new technology for some reason, for the fact that for financial reason they didn't resign the rights to make the College Hoops 2k9. Also they haven't said whether or not there would be a 2k9 as of yet maybe puzzling, but if it weren't going to made they would have stated by now. Plus I read on a gaming site or forum (I know that doesn't make it true) that the maker of the "Backbreaker" football game doesn't have a publisher. This is intriguing to me after hearing of the alliance of these companies. Forgive me for speculating and hoping, but this news got me excited that there might be a even better alternative for gamers to turn to come football season. As you said Reed, they might not use this technology for 2k Sports, but hopefully they will. It just seems like a lot of things happening for something not to happen.
