Ok. We all would like to see better play out of our generics right?
Who can make a player better?
COACHES!!!!!

So why not add the ability to choose a coaching staff that also carry attributes????
Some players have a Leadership attribute that make players around them better.
Ok.

Why not have us select our coaching staff that have attributes to enhance the generic players. Not the Star players. I have a feeling doing that will result in superman players again.

If you have a OL coach who is good with Pass Protection and you are a pass happy offense then it will boast that for your OL. Not too much mind you because we don't want invincibility here.

DL coach is known for run stopping, but you have a LB coach known for pass rush.
Now your DL would be better at stopping the run while your LB will be better at pass rush.
This would not mean across the board enhancements. Some generics are better than others. So a 2 point boost doesn't put them all at the same level. It just brings them up from where ever they are.

So now... not only do you have to keep in mind your player attributes, but your coaching attributes when building your team. Maybe some coaches are stronger at Pass Protection then others. Some are balanced like for the OL with pass/run blocking.

You don't have to give them stars. Just rate them 1-5 to keep it simple.
However, to make it fair because we all know people would go after all 5's right....
... you can only accumulate so many rating points for your coaching staff. You can be under, but not over the max.

Maybe depending on how much you are under the max you are allowed another star player.

I would make it like it is when you pick the team itself. You can go with a head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator as gold, silver, and bronze picks, but not in the same menu as the team pick. This would add three legend picks, but they'd all have to be coaches.

It depends what difficulty your playing online. In the All-pro lobby, generic WRs are decent, but in the legend lobby, they have to be at least 10 ft. away from a defender to catch a ball.

No... it is called a suggestion for a game idea.

Some people have mentioned coaches.
Some people want better generic players.

I figure to get the best of both worlds and to make the addition of coaches worthwhile not have their strength boost, a little, of the generic players attributes with limitations of course.

Oh... by the way I do just fine with my generics thank you.

The coaching idea would be cool. I like it.

There are a few generics that play like beasts. I can't remember any names off hand, but I had a generic linebacker in one season who's name just got called constantly. He out-shined everybody. But for the most part, the generics are terrible. A few legends should play better, too.
