Recently I've been having a harder time stopping the run, and also having trouble getting a running game on offense. Was anything in the game changed or is it just me? I have an Xbox 360.

Has there been a new update in the past few days?
More fumbles don't bother me. I never even saw a fumble until about my 20th game when my silver RB fumbled TWICE in the 4th quarter. Both were returned for touchdowns and I lost like 21-20 or something.

More fumbles? Oh no, EA is slowly taking over and creating patches to make APF more like their awful game.

I haven't noticed any change... Hard to stop a good running game, you can only hope to contain it, especially a gold HB. I would concentrate on adding defenders on the outside, like a gold/silver CBs, and outside LBs is what I find most effective. Good safeties are a must if you don't have good corners or OLBs...
To run the ball effectively, best option is get a gold HB and cover the ends with a TE and a Tackle. But Gold HBs don't really need great blocking. Silver and bronze do... Set your OLine to Run Blocking too
And most importantly, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE... only way your gonna win.

Truly is hard to stop a good running game. I played a guy with 2 gold 5 ability CAP players (Devin Hester and someone else). His running game was kicking my *** even with a 5-2 front (both LBs assigned man to the RB). Thanks god I got lucky with 2 quick touchdowns and he quit. I definitely think I would have lost later on in the game.

The 5 - 2 has waay too many holes. I would use a 4- 4 Bear, IF you have good corners and OLBs again...

honestly the best way to get a good running game is to get a good passing game. you can try your best to get the best runners, best blocking te's etc. but all the other team has to do is jam the line of scrimmage up.
in a good running game you get good yards per carry off good plays where you really utilize ur blockers. ive been so frustrated before trying to create great cap runners only to see them constantly get stopped in the backfield. then to make it worse, christian okoye on the other team is getting a 1st down every run. but the thing i noticed is okoye wasnt even breaking a truck load of tackles, he was getting in untouched. that in my opinion is a good running game, when you have the defense backed up enough that you can just follow your blockers and run out of bounds or wahtever.
so basically what im saying is dont go for a gold runner (they have bullseyes painted on their helmets), instead go for good recievers or passers, and use a less attention grabbing runner to surprise them with a good run. yea gold runners are a little faster, have better moves, and can break more tackles, but when it comes to following blocks and taking the right lanes all runners are on the same level.. its up to u to learn how to use ur blockers to ur advantage. dont overrun them, dont try to bounce outside of them or the defender will run ahead of him and then cut in and get you.. dont be afraid to cut back inside so that they slam into one of your blockers
the best runs ive seen in this game have been runs where the runningback was nearly untouched..

What's really crazy is when you have a gold WR/HB combo. I recreated the Rams with Jackson and Holt, and I can basically just run it up the middle until workhorse kicks in, and then he's unstoppable. Add that to the threat of a gold route god WR
The only problem is that I neglect to follow my blockers with a gold HB - I find myself trying to ram (no pun intended) into the nearest defender every play or sprint before my blocks are properly set up. Same problem with forcing the ball to Holt.

ya there are alot of people that, when they have generic runningbacks, they never run the ball ever. all they have to do is setup an outside run and if they just follow their blocks, they can be just as effective as a gold runner. anybody can run with the ball following blocks

Not pressing sprint button as soon as you get the ball and waiting for your blocks to develop will clear many lanes.
But problem is the blocking on this game sucks and is frustrating sometimes. Especially when running to the outside. I've seen THREE blockers run past an OLB and he ends up nailing my HB.
A Gold HB also opens the passing game. He has a target on his helmet but it's good cause it opens up playaction.

I have noticed a rise in fumbles. I don't recall a patch recently.

I got my running game on track by using a single-back, spread formation and running the ball up the middle. I can often find a hole for at least 4 yards, sometimes more.

Running isn't too hard to stop. I thought it was just a coincidence that I was fumbling with Barry Sanders more. I see it has been happening to others too. There were times I decided to play it safe and not pass it, just to turn it over on the very next RUN play, with a fumble.
