"The only way this will turn out really disturbing will be if, after April 30, Zelnick ends up accepting EA's offer of $26 per share or something close to it. That's pure ***** greed just to get his golden parachute. Otherwise, he certainly has a plausible case that he's doing what's best for shareholders."

Terrible!! i think im gonna throw up!!

What would you do if you were in his position? Cash in or care about 'your gamers'? Not sure that's a greedy slimbag. CEOs and chairmen do what's best for the company if it's what's best for them... all of 'em.

Everyone in business is a scum bag. You have to be if you want to make a lot of money.

By the looks of those pictures, he doesn't look like he's starving. So he should do what's best for us, the people who supported them through thick and thin. But I guess money comes b4 morals.

You do realize that you've just called every working person a scumbag, don't You?

Everyone who gets paid for working is in "business". From the CEO of Mircosoft on down to the hamburger flipper at Mickey D's.

Are we all scumbags?

Not everyone. Just the vast majority of those making a lot of money (hundreds of millions). The whole point of business is to "get to the top". Unfortunately in this day and age I feel like you can't get to the top with hard work and those famous "business ethics". You have to be a back stabbing, kiss ***, mother trucker.

Looks like it's pretty much a done deal. Hopefully they sell to someone else but not likely. Evil A**holes will pay whatever it takes to rid themselves of the competiton. I did find a site that said other companies were looking at buying TT.

Hopefully they rush out APF 2k9 & the boxing game before this happens.

supposidly the real reason as some of you may already know as to why Zelnick rejected the offer was because the 26 dollars per share that was offered by EA is supposidly a low number for take-two, because they believe that the company shares will be worth alot more after the release of GTA IV. That is also why EA says they will not offer as much as 2 billion after the release of GTA in hopes that Take-two would fall for it and bite on the offer. Take-two feels their intelligence is insulted and the timing of EA's offer is "oportunistic" as Zelnick put it. which makes alot of sense. Some believe that EA will not offer the buy out after the release of GTA IV because the price would be higher and it would not be a bargain for them. And now EA is desperately tryin to make the shareholders take control of the situation for them by tryin to convince them to complete a hostile take-over by makin the offer of 2 billion to go public. that is also why the take-two stocks went soarin after the announcment was made by EA cause shareholders relized that Zelnick must know somethin they dont. They are basically trusting that Zelnick is right that the company will be worth more than 26 dollars a share after the release of GTA IV. If this theory is correct then you may not see a buyout from EA unless they offer somethin more than what they have already which EA would not be happy about. why else would EA try to get the public to take the company over by a hostile take-over?? cause they dont want to offer more. Some are sayin that EA was just tryin to pull a fast one bein half serious, hoping for a miracle that take-two will bite on it. but will not negotiate after the relese of GTA IV.

You seem to know more about it than i do. The main reason they want TT is because they can shut down 2K Sports. I just dont get a good feeling about any of it.

^^^^ so in summary, EA tried to get Take-two at a bargain price cause they know its gonna cost them alot more to take over Take-Two after the release of GTA IV. Take-two saw right through it and thats why they called it "opportunistic", and bad timing on EA's part. So unless theres a hostile take-over by the share-holders, or the company value doesnt go up that much after the release of GTA IV (which is unlikely) there may be no EA buy out unless EA is willing to pay more than they already offered.

Looks like gamespot is reporting what I found on another website earlier. Hopefully they're not just trying to drive the price up.

Take-two feels their intelligence is insulted

WOW! I think that's how just about all of us feel everytime we sit down in front of an EA product.

"From time to time the company receives, and since the issuance of the press release by EA the company has received, informal indications of interest in a business combination," the filing read. "However, the company has not received any written 'offers' and has not engaged in any substantive discussions with any party (including EA) with respect to a business combination since [February 14, 2008]."
