Casey: Good evening folks. My names Casey McCall & sitting next to me is Dan Rydell and you're watching Sports Night. Tonights special episode we discuss the return of football with the new league.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg24.jpg
Dan: That's rite Casey & tonite we're spot liting the brand spanking new franchise.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg16.jpg
Casey: We're here with coach Jenkins to talk shop & take a look at the newly unveiled uniforms.
Dan: Welcome Coach. How does it feel to be involved in football again & how's the organization shaping up?
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg17.jpg
Coach: Feels great & it's good to see football back. Our organization is one of the best I've encountered. Everyone at every level seems genuinly interested in bringing football greatness back to the Miami area.
Casey: Coach what do you think of the new uniforms & how did you guys come up with the name 'Assassins'?
Home......................Away
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg23.jpghttp://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg21.jpghttp://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg22.jpg
Coach: I think the uniforms look good & have that classic but stylish flare to 'em. As for the name the owner's grandkid came up with it. Why I don't really know, but it stuck. So that's that.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg13.jpg
Dan: So on the eve of the draft what kind of offensive & defensive schemes are you planning on using & what kind of players are you hoping to get to fill those roles?
Coach: We are gonna run a 3-4 & an old skool power run & about a 50-50 run to pass ratio. We plan on getting the best players to fit in our system & develop them.
Casey: Well thanx coach. We know you're a busy man. So we'll let you get back to your job. That's all we have time for in this segment. Coming up next we'll take a look at the Chicago & their Beasts. Rite here on Sports Night.

Casey: You know I am. How about we start with the Assassins? Sound like a plan, Dan?
Dan: You betcha! With the first pick of the Gold round the Miami picked:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg2.jpg
Casey: This powerfull back outta Texas has surprising agility when he's not bowling over defenders. Next up the Assassins picked up their D:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg8.jpg
Dan: This homegrown LB boasts lightning speed & powerfull bolts when he stuffs the run game.
Casey: With the gold round done. Our sponsers need a minute of yer time & $$ from yer wallet. We'll be back to replenish yer mind after this message.

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/sn5.jpg
Casey: Ok we're back with the silver round! Let's get to it. With the 1st pick of the silver draft Miami picked:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg3.jpg
Dan: This tall, lanky reciever was one of the better route runners of this draft class with amazing hands. With the next pick Miami took:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg11.jpg
Casey: This Speedy FS from BYU always seems to be around the ball. QBs beware. With the final pick of the silver round Miami grabbed:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg4.jpg
Dan: This run blocking TE outta Minnesota has great hands for a TE & is the only Native American in this draft.
Casey: Well that's it for another round. Hold tight we got more draft coverage coming up after this break.

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/sn5.jpg
Casey: Well we're back & you know what that means?
Dan: Bronze Round?
Casey: That's rite Bronze round & with their 1st pick Miami picked:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg5.jpg
Dan: This WR outta Marshall has the kind of hands coaches rave about. next up Miami went:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg10.jpg
Casey: This fast corner outta USC was a double threat at CB & returning both punts & kicks. the next pick Miami found:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg1.jpg
Dan: This fellow Miami grad has pin point accuracy. Well our producer's telling us we need a break. So after this we'll get back to the Bronze Round.

February 29th, 2008, 10:51 PM
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/sn5.jpg
Dan: Ok picking up where we left off. With the 4th pick the Assassins grabbed:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg7.jpg
Casey: This pass rushing DE outta Tennessee will put the fear into opposing QBs. With the 5th pick of the draft Miami takes:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg6.jpg
Dan: This big DE outta Ohio State has a knack for finding the QB in a less than flattering postion-his back. With the 6th & final pick of the bronze draft Miami takes:
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg9.jpg
Casey: This beastly OLB from Cincy seems to fly to the ball like a wolf to the kill. Offenses better take heed. Well that was the medal round of the draft. Stay tuned as we break down the other APL teams.
Dan: And for those who are really obsessed our radio counterparts will cover the non-medal round. For the rest of us this has been a treat & coming up after the break we're talking Rhinos. Rite here on Sports Night.

Dan: Welcome back folks. Me & Casey were just debating the need for instant replay. More on that later. Rite now we got Coach Jenkins & new info on the Miami Assassins organization. What you got for us coach?
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg17.jpg
Coach: Well after having a little time to evaluaate our talent. We've nailed down our final roster and are ready to unveil our team.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg16.jpg
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg28.jpghttp://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg29.jpg
Casey: Looking good coach. One question I noticed you have both star DBs on left side of the field. Are you worried about your opponents exploiting yer right flank?
Coach: Well as you know the FS is generally the last line of defense on the field. Our lesser known DBs are no chumps, coupled with Harris' speed. I think we'll surprise those who try.
Dan: Thanx coach. I was just saying the same thing during the break.
Casey: Well thanx for the explanation. Now that you've had the time to look at the team. Anything stand out?
Coach: Everything. Our stars are doing just what we felt they could do. Hopefully that'll transfer onto the field. It's what happens on gameday that defines a legend.
Casey: Right you are. Our crew was on the field for one of those practices & caught this glimpse of one of those young stars. Yer thoughts?
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff171/vincentstuntdbl23/asg19.jpg
Coach: We knew that Jose could catch the ball with the best of them. We're now getting to see just how good this kid can really be. Spectacular one handed catch. No doubt. Been alot of good performances out there so far. I know me for one is ready to get out on the field and show what this team can really do in a game that matters.
Dan: That makes 3 of us. I know me & Casey are anxious to see this team &
football in general in action. Well coach we know you're anxious to get back to your preparation. So we won't keep you any longer. Goodluck with the upcoming season & thanx for taking time outta yer busy day to talk to us. Coming up next head coach Samuels of the Legends stops by to drop sum info on his talented squad.

Casey: Got stats?:
Assassins/Wasps
Total yards: 294/112 Pass Yards: 118/69 Rush Yards: 176/43
QB-B.Schaefer: 118.5 rat 7/14 118 yds 3 TDs

FS-P.Harris: 3 tkls 2 PD 1 int
Dan: Another big game for Jerome!
Casey: Indeed. Big win for Miami, but not without controversy. Dan?
Dan: That's rite Casey. We've heard that Wasps' coach was displeased at the alleged 'running up score'. Miami Coach Jenkins had this to say: 'On the 2nd to last drive they went 4 & out and couldn't stop the run on the short field. Jerome had a clear shot at the endzone. Was he supposed to stop? On the last drive we ran the ball twice. They called 2 time outs. Down by 31 points under minute & half and no chance to come back. They're calling time outs!? Down by that much you let the clock run out, take yer lumps & get yer players ready for next week. So I told Schaefer he had a free play. Call whatever you want. He decided to give Jose one more chance to get into the endzone. You all saw the results. That's not running up the score that's executing on offense. I can't help it they couldn't stop it. If they'd let Jerome run out the clock. They'd had nothing to complain about. Aside from their lack of execution on defense. Seems like sour grapes if you ask me'.
Casey: Sour indeed. Later on - we got Legends CB Rod Woodson. Who'll give us his opinion on this & ALL of today's football action.
Dan: Rite now our sponsors would like a little of yer hard earned time & money. Stay tuned for that & more. Rite here on Sports Night.

badasp83
March 8th, 2008, 09:03 AM
Thanx bro. 2 things. I should've just ran out the clock when up 31 (as I was trying to do by running 2 strait plays), but when they called the 2nd time out. I was like WTF?! I'm sorry but in the NFL most coaches would let the clock run out. So I decided to give Jose one more chance. Since Willie Wood had effectivly shut down that side most the game. They bought that PA hook, line, & sinker. I really wanna get Slaton a TD next game. He was a tackle break away from 6 on his first catch. The stupid game didn't show my TEs first TD of season either. I knew I shoulda recorded the little replay they showed. Man it was funny the Wasps blitzed and let Westerman was left all alone on a little out pattern - (Slaton crossed him about half yard in endzone). No one within 4 yards of him. :D

badasp83
March 9th, 2008, 10:16 AM
Yer welcome + I figured since the CPU was being unrealistic in calling time outs in that situation. I'd excuse myself for one play. Jose just happened to get open in the endzone. I ran the ball twice before that. So screw the darned CPU. :D After that I figured I'd add that part into the 'story'. :p

Casey: No question. With the offense struggling this team did what all great teams do.
Dan: Gave the ball to their horse.
Casey: They gave it to their 'horse' & they rode it all the way to the 'W'. When you have a back like Jerome & you got nothing going thru the air. You hand it to your workhorse until the passing game comes around or the other team stops it.
Dan: With that our work here is done, atleast until the commercial break is over. After the break we'll talk about how those other imperfect teams spent their Sunday. Don't go nowhere

Dan: Another big win puts them one step closer to perfection. The lone mistake on D a long TD reception. Man, was that coach mad or what. Do you think that's why he let Schaefer have an extra shot at the endzone in the 4th.
Casey: I do.
Dan: Well said and thanks for spreading that out. I'm sure our producer appreciated the effort. Better luck next time buddy. Now coming up after the break we got baseball, hockey & a little something called boxing. But before that Casey & our producer Dana's gonna go over hand signals & their meanings during the break. Casey: Yes I did. Might not show up in the stats, but I guarantee that WR won't forget it.
Dan: 15-0 Do you think they can go undefeated.
Casey: They'll do it. A sub 500 team ready to hit the showers for the last time. Probably can't wait for the off season to start.
Dan: Don't count those subpar teams out. A non playoff team with nothing to lose. Bet they'd love to play the spoiler & end Miami's perfect season.
Casey: Guess we'll have to wait & see what next Sunday brings. Coming up after the break. Dan & I will be talking bowling. Why-I'm not sure, but I'm sure our producer's gonna tell me why during commercial. Don't go away.

Casey: The Assasssins managed to win even with an anemic offense. Lotsa dropped passes & an off day by Schaefer. The lone bright spot in the passing game was Jose's sure hands. Luckily they could still hand the ball off to Jerome. What about that D only giving up a FG thru 4 quarters!
Dan: Great work. And what about Harris. 2 big INTs. One outfighting the WR for the ball. The other over his head. Great way to get between the Wr and QB. And did you see that hit on Hoge to break up the pass on 3rd down! Kudos.
Casey: Well that's all for football this week. Coming up we've got more golf than should be legally allowed. Stick around.

Dan: And next week doesn't get any easier as the Assassins are matched up against the Legends for the APF Championship.
Casey: Miami will have to bring their A-game as they line up against the pre-season favorite to win it all. So Miami & LA for all the marbles. Hi-lites & more next week. Rite here on Sports Nite. but for now we got a commercial break, but afterwards we'll talk about non playoff sports. Stick around.
